I really enjoy this version. You can really see who is doing what. Their closed eyes much of the video shows how in tune they are with each other. Kirstie’s backups are top tier. Her voice clarity and bell tones are lovely. Matt’s base is stunning. Mitch slayed it as usual. Some of the notes and runs Scott does are wonderful. And Kevin is other worldly as usual. This should put to rest some of the ideas that the original was more produced post production than it was. Fans that see them live know they thrive in a live audience and really sound better. This gives the world some hint at being at a live concert. ❤❤❤❤❤
I love your expressions when you experience PTX! They all do have very individual and specific style, but they also work with a stylist so they always look like a cohesive group while keeping their own preferences and self expression. I like when it gets noticed!
They highlight the genius of Freddie Mercury, and that's a hard thing to do, kudos for such a fantastic live performance!! Loved the reaction. live they are A M A Z I N G!!!!!!
They are so awesome! Fantastic in concert. It is amazing what they can do. The best of the best!!!!! Great reaction. Please continue reacting to them. Their Christmas music is so good. I finally got to see their Christmas tour last year. It was wonderful.... That was the 4th time I saw them!
Mitch might be the reincarnation of Freddie Mercury. Freddie died in November 1991 and Mitch was born in July 1992. He can also obviously grow the Freddie mustache. It is so close to matching it is kinda creepy. You can see Mitch (and Pentatonix) with the Freddie mustache doing Somebody to Love on a Queen special that was on ABC a few years ago.
the version with Avi where they are on the sofa is great too, this is a live performance, they worked on this for at least 3 years before making their music video, it had to be perfect....
They are so amazing. I listen to them every day. I love each one of them. Everyone is allowed their opinions but i dont think people should compare Avi and Matt. They are both great. Imagine if Matt saw these comments.
I’m going to see their show in a few weeks. 2nd row center. VIP backstage access. I’m so stoked. If you wanna come back down to Atlanta, I’m sure my husband would give up his ticket. LOL
You make me so happy! What you said about staying in your own lane singing your part - way back when I was in a (required) school choir, the teacher knew to put me in the middle of whoever was singing the same part. I would sing, badly, I’m sure, whatever the person next to me was singing. Peace, and good luck seeing them on their holiday tour …
My youngest daughter introduced me to Pentatonix Christmas music. I had no idea about this side, they are phenomenal, I definitely will be searching for more non-Christmas songs.
Great, fun "spectacular" reaction. And thanks for validating Kirstin's outfit. She caught some flack from some commenters. I think they're awesome and quite trendy.
I love listening to music with you, Britt! I sang in choirs for more years than I want to admit, and I totally understand what you mean by "staying in your lane." I can do it in a regular choir, but in a group of only five people, with everyone doing their own complicated vocal lines, weaving in and out with perfect precision... I am not worthy! Not to take anything away from anyone else--they're all sublime, always--but one thing that always amazes me is that when Mitch channels his inner guitar, it's not just any generic guitar, it's the completely unique sound of Brian May's "Red Special," that he hand-built with his dad as a teenager. That kind of attention to detail is PTX in a nutshell, and I love it!
I watched the season of the TV show The Singoff...that they won. They're was an acapella group on there with them that did a Queen mashup...that I like even better than this. I would have to go find their name, but it was spectacular!
A couple other cover versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" you might find interesting include the version by Marc Martel, and "Bohemian Rhapsody in 42 Styles" by Anthony Vincent aka Ten Second Songs. If you want a completely different version of Bohemian Rhapsody, check out "Bohemian Polka" by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Recommend their cover of The Prayer. For Christmas, recommend their original, Please Santa Please. PS- A Pentatonix playlist would be helpful for us. Thanks.
I was going to say this is not the rendition that I remember. I've never heard this version. You're right, though. This was really good but the other one was something more. I think this might be more "live" and thus scaled down a bit production wise.
@@sarahe6659 it’s basically the same arrangement, but it’s an ‘official’😊 video. It’s not live, it’s lip synced to a pre-recorded track. I don’t think you can really compare this live performance with the original studio version.
This is the same live arrangement they’ve been doing since they originally recorded it. The version you’re talking about is the studio version, which has a lot more effects added versus a live version.
Half the time you were reacting to it made me feel like you did not like their video. "I'm having a meltdown", talking about their outfit over the hard work they put into making that video.
Tacky cover. That’s grating. Leave classic rock songs alone. Rank this outside the top 100 covers I’ve heard of this iconic song. Yuck, yuck, yuck! Not that they are bad singers, but the balance of the song is thrown with this treatment.
Did you know Dr. Brian May (Queen's original drummer) posted the original Pentatonix version to his pages with the word 'enjoy'? I think getting his approval is more than enough validation that this was a great rendition.
@ Brian is the lead guitarist, not a drummer. He is brilliant in many respects and hugely complimentary and encouraging to everyone, I’m not surprised he has tried to boost this performance, he does it for hundreds of performances of Queen’s songs. Incredibly nice guy. Take his opinion on astrophysics or guitar questions. Roger Taylor was the drummer.
@@unimatrix0169 Don't you love Chris' absolutely patronising attempt to discredit May's feedback by claiming 'oh, he's just that nice to everyone'. 🤣 Man, I wish I had the audacity to undermine a rock icon's opinion just because it doesn't reflect my own. Easier to believe he was just doing it because he's a nice guy than to accept that MAYBE the original artists actually liked something you don't, I guess.
@@ChrisKyle-om5wi You are correct, he was the lead guitarist. That doesn't make the fact that HE endorsed the Pentatonix cover of this iconic rock song any less amazing.
@@Wolfpack4eva Self righteous prick. Typical misanthrope, spreading their hate to the masses. Most definitely a toxic Trump supporter, a Joe Rogan minion, and most likely to become a serial killer. This was marvelous and I must say your reactions are so wonderful. I enjoy you so much!! 😅

Your reactions are always AWESOME!!!
Glad you like them!

Christmas is almost here. You have to react to PTX Recording of Evergreen this year!!! Behind the scenes, their process, arranging an album, etc…

Great reaction. Thank you. I love this live Pentatonix performance.
It is a 'Masterpiece' in Acca Pello. No one will ever be better at this!
Glad you’re back Britt! We’ve missed you.

"Have the day you deserve" made me LOL
They worked on this arrangement for about five years and released it on a EP called PTX Classics Vol. 4 in 2017. That EP also included Imagine.
It takes guts (or blind stupidity) to take this classic on. It takes a heck of a lot of talent to pull it off, like PTX did.
A moment of silence is deserved!

You have a lot of fun in store.
@@nickerpsg1 If you read my comment I stated that was all I had ever listened to by them. I love their Christmas music.

Wow! That was incredible.
Bellissima reazione ,come al solito competente.

No problem 😊
You should watch the original with Avi as well. Great reaction Britt!
I'll check it out!
yep
It's all about the voices.. not the clothes.. To me... But ....love you Britt!!! 🥰
If you haven't already heard it, I would highly suggest listening to Pentatonix cover of "Radioactive", which features violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Welcome to the acapella rabbit hole. Enjoy the ride. Keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times.
She's not new. She has great PTX reactions. You should go find her playlist. I love her very excited and expressive reactions 🙏🏾❤️✌🏾

Morning Lady Britt🥰,the performance is great,But the song is being overdone
Into irrelevance.
The one they did with Avi Kaplan back in the day is actually better.
