What Brian did for the sport should go down in history. Though strongman may not be on the level of team sports, the evolution of the sport and its popularity should be well credited to Brian. While he wasn’t the only one who brought more light into the sport, I think he’s the one guy who made it more appealing to athletes looking to get into it. Being able to provide these guys better financial gain from contests, more time in mainstream media, and just being extremely passionate about the sport is amazing. I consider myself blessed to have been able to follow Brian’s career from beginning to end. Can’t wait to see what he continues to do to evolve the sport further. Who knows. Maybe one day we’ll get a live broadcast of WSM in the US.
The genuine outpouring of love and support at the end from all the other athletes bloody got me man. So special for the younger generations to see that even arguably, the manliest of men on the face of this planet still understand that its important to be compassionate and vulnerable just as much as it is to be staunch and strong. Got to meet him at the Arnold classic in Columbus. I have met almost all the strongmen not including the newer fellas. Been such an honor Brian. Be great!!
