Tekken 4 and 5's prologues is what made me enjoy the franchise as it provides a background story to each of the characters as well as the interludes.
I just wish Tekken 7 would have this instead of the short character episodes as this would've provided a much better construction with the characters especially the new ones who pretty much need a better introduction.

Tekken 5 felt an interesting story to deliver and develop an lifetime
Not really. The plot started to fall flat because of this game. In the previous titles, the character's motivation was that they wanted life to change, cross an enemy's path, or to use the money to change everything. Tekken 5 lacked that, since everyone who isn't a mishima just entered the tournament just to prove themselves, or settle a score.
For example, Bryan fury entered the 4th tournament to save himself from dying. In the 5th game, he just entered just for shits and giggles.
Paul Phoenix entered the 4th tournament because no one believed that he won the 3rd tournament after a technicality. Because people were fed up with him, he had to give up his dojo and lived a life in poverty. The reason why he entered was because he wanted to prove everyone he was the best and to escape poverty.

@Tcb bct it doesn't matter if the endings were comical or serious. The issue with the story was that they went backwards and pretended that what was established in Tekken 4 never existed at all.
The reason why Yoshimitsu fought bryan was because Brayn went on a rampage despite the fact that yoshimitsu saved his life. If the story never went backwards, there would be no reason to have a rivalry.
Kings ending shows him teaming up with Marduk
You know the guy who killed his mentor, Armor King. King was originally supposed to kill Marduk, but he saw a family photo of Marduk's family and decided to let him live because he would of felt guilty. If the story never went backwards, the two would still have animosity and Armor King II wouldn't have came back.
Steve had a huge subplot with Nina that wasn't touched upon until Tekken 7, which was over a decade later.
Jin had a subplot where he had no choice but to control the devil gene inside him, something that was established in Tekken 4. Tekken 5 retcons that and let's the devil gene consume him.
The biggest flaw with the story is that it goes backwards. It comes to a point to why would you care about these characters if their stories got scrapped in the first place.
@Tcb bct it's wasnt about the devil being inside him, but rather being able to control the gene in his own free will. In the ending of 4, he had to tap into the power himself to escape from heihachi's chains. Heihachi had it set up to where the chains suppressed the devil gene inside jin.
Also King didn't forgive Marduk in T4, he just spared him because he felt guilty about it. He didn't want to go the same path as Marduk, and he didn't want to see Marduk's family suffer. King forgave Marduk in Tekken 5 and onwards.
This 5th installment sequel of the fighting game was awesome!!

This was the best man I hope this returns in tekken 7 with a good narrator & Music!
Callum Brown I was expecting its return as well. Too bad we just got one combat per fighter and a cutscene. I mean, I don’t really mind because we got story mode on the other hand but I miss this kind of arcade with a halfway through interaction with another character (Paul-Law/Hwo-Jin...) Sub boss (DJ) and a GOOD ending scene.
