The Wii is such a nostalgic console for me. I can’t count how much time I’ve spent as a kid making Miis in the Mii Maker, and playing Wii Sports Resort and Brawl. It had its problems (and it’s library is 90% shovelware, and it causes Nintendo to start slacking on hardware that still bites them to this day), but I still love this thing. Also, Nintendo really needs to bring back the Virtual Console. It’s still bizarre how the Wii had the best retro support…
Its namely that nobody bought 90% of the stuff they ported, and most third parties have wizened up and realized they can release their own titles in collections, generating the best sales vs piecemeal.
I remember getting Twilight Princess for the Wii before getting the Wii itself because it was damn near impossible to actually get for a good while. I ended up spending weeks just reading the manual just wondering what the actual game was going to be like. I was practically crying when I came home from school and my mom revealed she actually managed to get a hold of one. I will also never forget the Wii for being my official start to retro collecting. When I finally got my first job and my first paychecks, I went crazy at used game stores picking up hidden gems like Muramasa, Sakura Wars V, Trauma Center, FE Radiant Dawn, and more that just went under the radar. Sure it was the start of my library becoming too bloated for me to actually play them all, but I'll never look over my collection and regret ever purchasing any of these hidden classics.
Same for me, I bought the Nintendo Power Player's Guide for Twilight Princess before I actually owned the game back in December 2006 and read the entire guide before I even got the game lol
In my humble opinion, the Wii is Nintendo's best home console. It managed to represent everything Nintendo stands for and so much more. Dare I say, it was the most innovative console in history, and single-handedly changed the future of the gaming industry in more ways than one.
@@galfinsp7216 I typically don't count backwards compatibility, unless it is physically ported over to another console, which New Play Control is. Every console does miss out on a few franchises, as expected, but the Wii certainly has one of the higher counts thanks to its expansive library.
I think it's pretty unfair how much flak the Wii gets for the amount of garbage on the system. I mean, the PS1 and PS2 both had over 4000 games if Wikipedia is anything to go by, you can't tell me most of those were winners.
Both of those console allow completey new game concept , new studio and lincense game a platform and system while with wii it had great intail sucess but as time went on that gimmick of motion control became hassle for company and player which result in to complete mess of situation where port of wii was complete crap
@@marioguy1225The NES has hundreds of great games, and a real controller. The Wii has 20 good games and tacked on waggle in almost every game. The Wii sucks.
Man, the Wii Sports theme lives up to this day. They did not need to give a glorified tech demo such a good soundtrack, yet they did. Now that's dedication.
I mean, Nintendo just didn't miss on music for the Wii. Except ironically the game where that was the focus. But for real, the shop channel DID NOT need to slap that hard. Even the third parties stepped up. Madworld and No More Hero's OST's are amazing and you can rock them day to day.
you haven't heard good video game music until you've listened to the sonic advance 3 ost don't play the game, it isn't the best, but damn that music is the best i've ever heard
Exactly - especially since Nintendo won't make a DIME from used game sales anyway, and I yet have to see an officially sanctioned and steadily available option to buy any previously physical Wii games digitally, let alone any WiiWare titles, now that the Wii Shop Channel is defunct. I mean, sure. The Wii U had maybe... five digital rereleases of Wii games? But that'd require you to own a Wii U, which you can also only get used, and god knows how long the Wii U eShop will still be around for anyway. But in case Nintendo is listening: I will just point out that both the Wii and the Switch both use Bluetooth to connect to their controllers, and that the Sensor bar was just a bunch of infrared LEDs in a box, with no actual connectivity to the console itself aside from power.
@@pikksen7905 That was inevitable anyway. Unlike on PC, it doesn't make sense to run a digital storefront forever on a console as the consoles may get defunct over time, and the market gets increasingly smaller over time the older the system gets. Not a fan of it, but it is understandable and - frankly - expected. Nintendo likely doesn't care enough to keep an online service secure if maybe a few thousand people use it. Plus, I seem to recall that people managed to crack into the CDN and download games straight from the official servers anyway.
This re-awakened all my history and nostalgia with the Wii! I usually see it as just an okay console, but this reminded me of the good ol' days I had with it, so thank you for bringing it all back. Some lost memories are now treasured again.
Now the wheels used for Homebrew and a lot of other cool hacking stuff trust me I have a hacked Wii and a half Wii U and it's really fun yes I'm going to admit I have been pirating some Wii games but I vowed never pirate a switch game
Wii was one of those consoles that reside on a bell curve, those with an average interest in games think of it poorly, but casual fans love whats there, and hardcore fans who like to dive deep find an absolute treasure trove of niche hidden gems. It's honestly staggering going back and seeing not only the underappreciated games I found through Nintendo Power that I played as a kid, but the even more hidden games that I discover now. I'm just a sucker for exactly the type of quirky games the Wii had in spades. I thought I knew it all when it comes to the Wii, yet somehow this video brought to my attention Camelot DID make a Golf game for it? Awesome to find out.
The Wii was awesome, so many games that I would play for hours. Some of my favorites are sonic unleashed, super smash bros brawl, dragon ball z budokai tenkachi 3, sonic colors and Kirby’s return to dreamland
Ive been bitten by the nostalgia bug for the Wii hardcore as of recently, and Im absolutely loving it. Any console that has Mario Galaxy is automatically one of the best.
Proud Operation Rainfall participant here. Xenoblade Chronicles was PHENOMENAL on the Wii. That draw distance and the graphics were something else on the little white box.
Deadly Creatures! This is genuinely the only time I've ever heard the game mentioned! I met the developers many years ago with my father and he talked to one woman that worked on the game about how I was (as a ten year old) really interested in The Legend of Zelda. God, to an indie dev, that must have been heartbreaking. The game was definitely novel, though!
Still my favourite console. I don't think I've spent more hours on any one system than the Wii. A lot of my favourite games ever debuted on it. Mario Galaxy 2 Re4 Wii edition No More Heroes 1+2 Xenoblade Chronicles Wii Party Wii Sports/ Resort Wario Land Shake DKC Returns Mario Strikers Charged Sonic Colours Metroid Prime Trilogy Smash Bros Brawl And so many I have yet to play

I've just started collecting for the Wii after wanting to experience more of the games surrounding my childhood, and what a good idea it was. The Wii, no matter how polarising it was and still is, is such a legendary piece of gaming.
What are some of your recommendations that aren't the common ones? Mine's a piece of shovelware called Deadly Creatures and Trauma Center: Second Opinion.
Past midnight in France, but I couldn't go to bed without watching this love letter to a console I like so much. Thank you for this retrospective (and for putting a few words about my work!), I believe you might have caught the interest of some "wii-players-to-be"' with this one! Long live to Sin and Punishment!
the wii was the first console i played. i have so many fond memories of it just goofing around in mario galaxy, challenging my brothers in games like smash, mario kart and deblob. despite the shovelware and the motion controls being weird sometimes, the wii is amazing!
In my opinion, my favorite thing the Wii introduced were the Miis. They are such fun avatars and are among some of my favorite video game characters. They were also the first characters I had been introduced to in gaming, given that the Wii was also my first game console.
The Wii also had Mario Sport Mix, aka the most underrated game of all time. Seriously, no one talks about it, but it's a Mario game made by Square Enix where you can kill a Final Fantasy boss by chucking dodgeballs at it. Honestly used to be one of my favorites as a kid
Dang it, Square Enix! Why wasn't the White Mage from Sports Mix a spirit in Smash Ultimate? Instead we get that crappy Geno mii costume regurgitated from the 3DS and Wii U Smash games!
I still think Pac-Man World 2 (non-GBA versions) is the most underrated game even after a couple decades (even though it’s one of my favourites, you don’t see it on a lot of lists of best video games, which is also the problem with the home console version of its predecessor Pac-Man World 1), but yeah, Mario Sports Mix, like its spiritual successor to Mario Hoops 3-on-3, also really deserves more mentions as modern classics because they sure can be fast-paced athletic fun to play!
Acknowledging Chick Chick Boom’s existence just gave you some extra respect points in my book. That game was great Not to mention other underrated games like Rhythm Heaven Fever, Punch-Out and Bit-Trip Runner of course
The Wii played via Dolphin now is an amazing platform. Being able to upscale to 4k, use fan made texture packs, hacks, and control tweaks as well as use original controllers or modern ones. The community has done a great job improving on the original experience.
I can agree, I'm not giving flowers to piracy or anything like that, but Dolphin is genuinely an excellent experience for Wii players, so much work done amazingly right
@@yarh79 not trying to take a jab at you, but considering that most Wii games are never gonna see the light of day again and official support died ages ago, downloading Wii games isn't necessarily pirating. At least not on the moral level like an actual 2021 video game.
Completely agree especially with Nintendo thinking they can end piracy lolololo and the absolute trash that is Nintendo online Dolphin is a god send, and it works on phones too!!
Ah yes, the console that officially made me a Nintendo fan. Man, the late 2000s and early 2010s were dark times for me as a gamer. The Wii was the only console during that period that really spoke to me.
@@ToxicTurquoise454 If you enjoyed that gen of gaming, that's fine by me. I'm just saying that I, personally, didn't care for it outside of the Wii. These things are subjective.
@@ToxicTurquoise454 Personally I think this is probably the worst period in gaming history. I've said this many times and I still stand it to this very day. PC gaming at an all-time low, console development become so expensive that only me-too games were being made, Sony releasing a console that was honestly a piece of shit, good Wii games constantly being held hostage by an obnoxious control scheme and an underpowered console didn't do too much except waggle, and Nintendo going through what is probably its most clueless period in terms of refusing to put games on the console that people actually wanted. There were games from Nintendo that I really liked, but I honestly couldn't disagree with AntDude more. Most of the games he showcases in this video are like, 5-6/10 games. Decent, but there's not much too them. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of games that I enjoyed back then, even on the Wii! But I hated what the consoles companies were doing back then and I honestly haven't returned to console platforms ever since. All of my favorite genres of games just weren't being produced anymore (strategy games, turn based games, RPGs, etc.) and no one was putting games on my platform of choice (the PC). Nowadays my favorite genres are back, everything is released on PC, and I can buy most things at a great price without anything being locked to regions. I can even game full-time on Linux without any issues at all. Yeah, the AAA industry is an embarrassment but I don't care about those games anyway.
Looking back on wii days fills me with like ambivalent nostalgia. It was my years as an adult. The first console I bought new. And my main gaming console during some incredibly turbulent years of my life. It comes with so many great memories and formative and sad memories. So many games I wanted to play then but struggle for time during college. I wish I could go back for another chance to get more love from it. I still have mine and a wiiu. I just wish there was more time for old gaming to play along side my new consoles, theres hardly time for them even. :(
My most memorable moments with the Wii were the Wii series games. I loved playing Wii Sports, Play, Party, Fit+, and even Wii Music. I wish Miis would make a huge comeback on the switch one day…
It’s still crazy how wii sports is still one of the best party games of all time. I can’t even count the amount of time my whole family spent at parties playing wii tennis and bowling. Even the elders in my family (age 60+) were able to get into it, and it provided some of the best memories of my childhood. The wii was fantastic even with all the problems it had.
No matter if you’ve watched him since he was dude reviews or if you just started watching their is a zero percent chance a antdude video doesn’t make you nostalgic
Fun Fact about operation rainfall he didnt mention. Xenoblade Chronicles (And i think Pandora's Tower) were actually localised for a PAL audience (AU and EU) a full year before the USA. which only further pushed Operation Rainfall. Source: I owned Xenoblade Chronicles in 2011
15 years. God even I feel old I remember seeing it under the Christmas tree. Loved Wii sports and wii play with my brother and the console got me into Mario and Zelda. And unlike the future motion stuff others brought out it was accessible to me, I'm disabled so standing for games being optional, unlike the competitors did with xbox, so until my 2ds appeared I loved using it. May have to dig it out the cupboard for some mario kart wii.
I’m so happy to hear “Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars” brought up again. It was an amazing platformer. I just found out there was a sequel for the ds and a 2d platformer for steam apparently. Though it’s got mixed reviews.
The Wii was the first console I played. I remember my parents having a PS2 and playing Guitar Hero 2. I remember New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Barnyard being games I especially enjoyed. Also had the Wii been able to play DVD’s, I wonder if it would’ve sold even more than it already did. And what would’ve happened had it been as powerful as the Xbox 360?
About the DVD support: the Wii WAS going to have DVD support, but it was scrapped. Data for a DVD icon exists in the data for the Disc Channel, but that icon doesn't show up. If you have an early wii model, you can mod it to play DVDs.
EARTH SEEKER You have no idea what you've just done for me, AntDude. I remember READING about Earthseeker in super old Gameinformer magazines, and then it never came to the west, and years passed, and I eventually couldn't remember the game's name OR find the original article. I was recently remembering it existed but still couldn't find the game's name, and here you are not only reminding me of what it is, but telling me how I can play it Literal GOD youtuber
Wario Land's Shake It is one of those ultimate games that just never got shown the light and freaking deserved it. Its such a good game, waggle physics being a slight annoyance but not game breaking. But you NEVER heard anything about it, good or bad.
Very great retrospective! Honestly, I wonder what Nintendo will do once the Wii hits 20 years. A video like this on the Nintendo DS is gonna be so good too.
This video brought me back to the days of watching your OG TH-cam channel, Sonikdude. I have fond memories of your website where you had pictures of the box art of all the wii games you covered.
Remember my brother getting one of these for Christmas eventhough he wasn't into video games anymore. I was more PlayStation at 16 but decided to try my first Zelda with TP. Turned out to be an incredible console for that era and I loved it! End note. The console became mine so was a bonus that Christmas!
ZANGEKI NO REGINLEIV WAS TRANSLATED!? OMG OMG OMG THank you, internet weird guy! I will investigate more wii homebrew ASAP. Real talk, AntDude, the way you share your passion for the wii is inspiring and makes me feel somewhat validated about my love and nostalgia for the dumpsterfire of a library it has. No matter how good most of the 3rd party games are sometimes, it seems like 90% of them were poorly received due to control or didn't sell well. I'm glad you shined a light on some of the stuff I hadn't even heard of, as an avid collector myself. Guess I need to add some of these to the backlog. And amen to 30:22 as well. I 100% agree. Sidenote: Crystal Chronicles My Life As A Dark Lord also has no right to be as good as it is as a tower defense game.
Started on Atari at home years after it's release. Moved on to NES at my dads and grandparents. Bff had a Super Nintendo. I had a Sega. Traded for a Sega Saturn. My bff got a N64, my other bff got a PS1. I got a dreamcast (fucking awesome system). Friends got PS2. I had Gameboy, GBC, and GBA. Went into Marines... played PC, PSP, PS2, and Xbox 360. Years later I have Gameroom with my original NES, wifes SNES, N64, Wii (original with gamecube support) , Wii U and Gaming PC. My kids all have Switch Lites. Oh, and I have Sega Genesis in my overland vehical that is powered via solar. One wild ride. I still collected Wii and Wii U games. Favorite System.... Wii U. I have most of the library and a lot on virtual console. Plus my family still plays many Wii games on the Wii U. Being able to still buy Virtual Console games and OWN them, free online gaming (still to this day), and graphics being almost even with Switch make it my favorite. I know unpopular choice but damn they screwed themselves on marketing with the Wii U imo. Keep Gaming.
The Wii is the embodiment of Nintendo for me. Pure Fun with Friends and Family, something the Switch has only somewhat fulfilled, though i don’t know if that’s from getting older, or the switch not having as much charm.
2 of my favorite Wii games often go unmentioned and seem forgotten...Endless Ocean and it's sequel, Endless Ocean: Blue World. Though Blue World has some frustrating moments due to the inclusion of shark attacks as a game mechanic, it's still a fun game and the original is so fun & relaxing it helped me through my recovery after having some teeth extracted. I will never stop wishing/hoping for Nintendo & Arika ( the developer ) to make a new game or at least enhanced remasters on Switch
Project M makes Brawl even better. While Ultimate has since eclipsed it, Project M was easily the best Smash game due to being a perfect blend of Melee and Brawl with fanservice that puts Ultimate to shame (hello, Shadow Queen Peach and Melee costumes for Link, Zelda/Sheik, Ganondorf, Fox, and Falco).
If Brawl broke the sound barrier, then "Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011" was a kiloton bomb In all seriousness, I agree. The Wii has some of the best games I've ever played, & still reigns supreme compared to every other console I've played
Thank you for giving voice to Elebits. As my favourite game of all time, it makes me happy to see others playing and enjoying it. And that soundtrack man, it's S++++ tier stuff.
The Chicken Shooters originated from Germany Theyre called "Moorhuhn" which closely translates to "swamp chicken" The original Moorhuhn realesed on PC and had an integrated "buisesness screen", basically a sceen you can switch to that shows what should closely resemble a document you would work on, which could hypothetacilly give you the option to slack of durnig work This series got as i said before a big hype due to its casual friendly nature and had therefore many sequels, of which none really gathered the attention as the first one did (theres even a Mario esque cart racer called "Moorhuhn Kart") Thats why there are so many Wii ports of this game There are a few good videos on this topic, but all of them are in german For anyone who speaks german, the video created by MythosOfGaming is pretty well made and explains how Moorhuhn got such a big thing in basically notime Nowadays the franchise is pretty dead since its initial appeal wore off i guess
Props to you for talking about homebrew and emulation, they are usually ignored and being treated like if they are a sin. I've seen some games that look interesting in this video, one of them being the Reginleiv game. Am I supposed to go out of my way to buy a Japanese game? I really doubt developers are getting any cent. The disc drive in my Wii does a lot of noise too, so having everything on a Hard Drive is amazing.
It would be good if more wii games would be re-released on switch or other consoles/pc. That way we could actually bring some money to those developers and maybe even get game sequels. :)
To this day, I still have a lot of nostalgia for the Wii. Amazing console. Hell, its even still on my desk as I write this comment lol Also fun story: I was doing a birthday party and managing the kids and set up two of them with Wii Sports Boxing, and then slowly more and more starting to watch them Next thing I know, I'm setting up a boxing tournament for them to participate in. And everyone had a blast with it.
fun fact? if you connect a sensor bar to a wii, and turn place it in front of your computer, THEN run dolphin... it recognizes the sensor bar and you can use it on dolphin. now go have fun playing smooth moves in your pc.
While it makes sense if people prefer the Gamecube *era*, it only makes sense imo to prefer the Wii as a system. Because come on, it can do everything the Gamecube can, and all this extra stuff on top of it! **… no, we do not talk about the wii mini**
Ooh, it's cool seeing you cover the Wii given how much coverage it's been getting recently by other creators; hopefully this renewed and continued interest will signal to Nintendo that it's time to make another Wii Sports (Switch Sports?) game
Seeing how many views your videos get on average means that Elebits is going to get the most exposure it's ever received in it's entire lifetime and honestly I couldn't be happier for 13 seconds of video
Red Steel 2, Muramasa Demon Blade, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Madworld, and Super Paper Mario are still among the best games I've played ever
The Wii friggin rocks! I love the PS3 and 360 but they focused sooo much on gritty po-faced grey and Brown shooters. The Wii had a ton of shovelware but the Wii games that actually had some thought and effort behind them where by far the most fun and creative of that generation.
This is, probably, the first, highly viewed video I've ever seen that spoke about Little King Story and that masterpiece that is Fragile Dreams, and that's great, thanks!
Dude, I share the same feelings with you about the Wii. It was the first console that I bought with my own money, subsequently I got a DSLite as well. I have so many good memories with those games, The Last Story, Pokemon BR, Smash Bros Brawl, Zelda TP and SS, No More Heroes and so many more. Actually I have a Wii Mini completely original which I use to play physical copies and my trusty white Wii from 2008 absolutely Homebrewed. I believe that homebrewing is a natural step for a Wii owner nowadays, otherwise you're losing the total potential that this white gift box has.
I love hearing people give the Wii the respect it deserves. For all the tons of shovelware, there are so many good games. It had so much character. I love it.
Shout out to Trauma Team and Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, two of my favorite Wii games that didn't make the video. Also, if you didn't have access to a 360 or a PS3, the Wii port of Rayman Origins was super well done - it wasn't in HD, obviously, but it still ran well and looked gorgeous.
Little King's Story and Zack and Wiki were too of my favorite hidden gems on the Wii. Thank you for mentioning them! I put so many hours into Little King's Story. It's an incredible game. Those King cutscenes were hysterical and had such a cool artstyle.
IM NOT GOING TO LIE TO YOU, LITERALLY YESTERDAY I STARTED MODDING CONSOLES. I just downloaded ctgp and newer today and yesterday, AND HE LITERALLY MAKES A VIDEO MENTIONING THEM. This is my first time modding not only the Wii, but consoles in general. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES
Fun fact the Wii was in fact originally planned to be HD capable as well as have DVD playback before Nintendo decided those features had to be sacrificed to get that magical 200-dollar price tag. Shovelware aside the Wii really is the king of overlooked gems IMO. You also forgot the best part about the Nintendo Channel which was the ability to download playable demos to your Nintendo DS
This hilariously timed for me, considering I’m getting a wii for Christmas.I’ve had one before, but some games that I adore from the wii have never moved from it.
I got a Wii for Christmas 2010 as an 8 year old. I love this console so much. So many memories playing New Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports, Nights, Sonic Colors and Secret Rings, etc. Also gave me access to the GameCube's incredible library as well!
Thank you for FINALLY a shout out to Little King's Story!!! Been waiting for years for gamer channels to do that. After over a decade, gotta say....Worth the wait.
It's wild hearing someone talk about a handful of games I thought were very obscure parts of my childhood, always glad to hear someone talk about munchables.
21:14 Yeah that was right after "Wii Sports Resort" came out, when all Wii discs both old and new were being printed on or reprinted on fully matt finished discs with actual artwork as apposed to the transparrent two tones color scheme they originally had.
Man, the Wii was definitely the definitive call of perfection when we talk about sensor modes, the only thing I´m still freaked out was when the console disc crashes (specially on my Lego star wars complete saga game) the best part is that the nunchok never drifted from the first try, unlike *certain* console
What a time to be a gamer. The Virtual Console, alongside the golden age of TH-cam gave so much exposure to gaming history, the first party Nintendo games were amazing, there were all new kinds of games and control schemes on both the Wii and DS. On the other side of the aisle, the X360 and PS3 also pushed the technical limits and gave us some gems, and this was the rise of indie games and, in general, small experimental games thanks to digital distribution.
The Wii was my first proper console and 15 years later, I’m still using it. I missed out on a lot of classics in my childhood and now I can finally play them.
Has it really been that long? Man... This is my childhood, and I'm 16, that should say, I played so much, even alone, what a blast of a console. And when I discovered there was another mario galaxy game, yeah. Man....
as someone whos always been trash at games on the Main Two consoles, i was a diehard wii fan since i got it for christmas in 06 until 2016 when i finally got a 3ds. my poor wii is still chugging so i can play cooking mama and galaxy 2 sometimes. thank u for showing it some love
I was one of those thousands playing part in Operation Rainfall! My results: I’ve gotten to Chapter 4 of The Last Story, I’ve started Xenoblade, and I’ve yet to even put Pandora’s Tower into the Wii… But I’m planning to get to them! Also, thank you SO MUCH for shouting out Fragile Dreams. I swear, nobody even knows it exists, and it deserves to be known.

Wii>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wii U.

"It is more important that these games get played than owned."
This is the best outlook for game preservation and emulation
@@BrightSpark Well whaddayaknow. The Wii U Eshop's days are numbered.

Excellent retrospective. Glad some of my favourite underrated games like fortune street and crystal chronicles my life as a king were covered
In my opinion, my favorite thing the Wii introduced were the Miis. They are such fun avatars and are among some of my favorite video game characters. They were also the first characters I had been introduced to in gaming, given that the Wii was also my first game console.
This. Miis are one of the greatest things Nintendo has ever done imo, and it's really upsetting how underutilized they are nowadays.
Mario Hoops 3-on-3 before that was also fantastic, wonderful use of DS's touchscreen to simulate basketball
PREACH IT, sports mix is fun as hell
wiimmfi supports it too! though i havent found it to be very active unfortunately
Mario Super Sluggers > Mario Sports Mix
Acknowledging Chick Chick Boom’s existence just gave you some extra respect points in my book. That game was great
Not to mention other underrated games like Rhythm Heaven Fever, Punch-Out and Bit-Trip Runner of course
The Wii played via Dolphin now is an amazing platform. Being able to upscale to 4k, use fan made texture packs, hacks, and control tweaks as well as use original controllers or modern ones. The community has done a great job improving on the original experience.

Please don't insult 2007-2013, the era of bliss and the greatest era in history.

Hearing the Brawl start up theme when I was asleep was my alarm clock. My brother woke me up every time. Best game ever!
Project M makes Brawl even better. The Chicken Shooters originated from Germany
Theyre called "Moorhuhn" which closely translates to "swamp chicken"
The original Moorhuhn realesed on PC and had an integrated "buisesness screen", basically a sceen you can switch to that shows what should closely resemble a document you would work on, which could hypothetacilly give you the option to slack of durnig work
This series got as i said before a big hype due to its casual friendly nature and had therefore many sequels, of which none really gathered the attention as the first one did (theres even a Mario esque cart racer called "Moorhuhn Kart")
Thats why there are so many Wii ports of this game
There are a few good videos on this topic, but all of them are in german
For anyone who speaks german, the video created by MythosOfGaming is pretty well made and explains how Moorhuhn got such a big thing in basically notime
Nowadays the franchise is pretty dead since its initial appeal wore off i guess
It got remade for switch
I remember seeing commercials for Rabbids Go Home when I was a kid. I too thought the conceit of building a tower to reach the moon was hilarious.

Red Steel 2, Muramasa Demon Blade, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Madworld, and Super Paper Mario are still among the best games I've played ever
Oh Spectrobes Origins too.

Glad you mentioned Megaman 9 + 10.
I found your old channel all those years ago thanks to those let's plays.
Good times...
I am so happy you showcased Little King's Story. I love that game and soundtrack more!
Damn.. Thnx a lot man!!
I genuinely had no idea half of these even existed!!
I'm definitely gonna play them!
It's wild hearing someone talk about a handful of games I thought were very obscure parts of my childhood, always glad to hear someone talk about munchables.
This is so nostalgic to me, even more so that the Wii is 9 days younger than me. Happy birthday old buddy pal!
21:14 Yeah that was right after "Wii Sports Resort" came out, when all Wii discs both old and new were being printed on or reprinted on fully matt finished discs with actual artwork as apposed to the transparrent two tones color scheme they originally had.
I owned a Wii when I was younger but man there were so many gems that weren't even hidden; I just didn't know about them
Man, the Wii was definitely the definitive call of perfection when we talk about sensor modes, the only thing I´m still freaked out was when the console disc crashes (specially on my Lego star wars complete saga game) the best part is that the nunchok never drifted from the first try, unlike *certain* console
Love the wii....just got a 1tb hard drive to cram more games onto it
The Wii was my first proper console and 15 years later, I’m still using it. I missed out on a lot of classics in my childhood and now I can finally play them.
32:56 Nerrel approves. My favorite console ever, I can play 7 of my top 10 favorite games in a perfectly playable state, I love it.
Has it really been that long? Man... This is my childhood, and I'm 16, that should say, I played so much, even alone, what a blast of a console. And when I discovered there was another mario galaxy game, yeah. Man....
LostWinds on the Wii shop was good too, if rather short due to the file size limit.
28:02 oh nice, you did mention it after all!
as someone whos always been trash at games on the Main Two consoles, i was a diehard wii fan since i got it for christmas in 06 until 2016 when i finally got a 3ds. my poor wii is still chugging so i can play cooking mama and galaxy 2 sometimes. thank u for showing it some love
