    i know the video is old but i have to say for you're future bf109 builds leave the seem alone on the top back of the plane the reals ones have that seem keep up the good work

      Nicley picked up! For future planes I might try and still sand it flat to get rid of the raised flash and then do a subtle score for the centre seemline. Thanks for the tip and for watching👍🏻😁

    You’re very good at explaining the process. Brushpainters would do well to learn from your video.

    Very nice review and great job on the kit! I got one of these at a model show and it came with a bonus CMK interior. Now I know why! A method I use with Vallejo acrylic resin plastic putty is to place a small bead of putty on seam, for example in the wing root area. I then use a small, damp eyeshadow sponge applicator ("borrowed" from my wife) to remove excess putty and clean the area up. Blot extra putty onto a paper towel, rinse sponge in clean water, dampen and repeat process if necessary. Please take care!

      Thanks a lot.
      Haha I bet that interior kit would’ve really helped make it a bit better.
      Thanks for the advice I may have to give your technique a try. Take care👍🏻😁

    Nice! I've been running into similar issues with the newer Airfix kits myself. I've only got 2 or 3 left in the stash and then it may only be Airfix if no one else makes a kit for that particular subject!

      Thanks a lot. Haha yeah I think I’m only going to build one of the Airfix G6, but I’ve done about 4 of the E4 and it’s a great little kit. I found out after filming this series that a company called AZ-Models do a really big rnage of Bf109s with a fair bit of detail and the same markings in this kit, but they are very nice. I ended up using scheme b from this kit on the Italeri 109😂

      @@Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits I recommend Special Hobbys 109 E Series, i was blown away about the fine details. Unbelievable for that small 1/72 scale!

      I might have to build one of those then@@Juno58! The other good one is the AZ model Bf109 range which I may have to also do a video on at some point... Take care mate :)

    Ok, here is where I disagree with you. You overpaid for the kit. Hobby Lobby had this very kit for 12 dollars and with the 40 % off discount, It was well under 10 dollars. So, you got screwed. Otherwise, I liked your video You have a lot of talent.

      Hey mate, I probably should have been more clear that I am from Australia not the USA! I also work in a hobbyshop and as a result I am aware of how much the distributor of Airfix charges the stores to buy this kit for and I have a general idea of what other shops in Australia sell it for and between 27-30 AUD is pretty average with a half decent profit margin for them. In my opinion compared to Airfix’s other single engine fighter kits in 1/72 (which are normally about $20 AUD for older ones and $30 for newer tools) for no cockpit and some other simplified details that is a bit much!
      Thanks a lot anyways for watching, I appreciate it😁👍🏻

  • @gsr4535
    @gsr4535 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yeah, not sure why Airfix went to the trouble of re-doing this kit a few years ago while omitting any cockpit detail! Disappointing!

      @@Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits Same with the recent Spitfire Mk V tooling if I'm not mistaken. The Mk 1 and Mk 2 are great kits, good detail but the MkVB (my favorite) is lacking in detail. Though the MkVC has detail I believe. Odd.

    • @Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits
      @Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gsr4535 The Airfix Spitfires are definitely great kits! I believe the VB and VC are different tools with the VB designed to be easier for new builders, but I’ve only done the Vc in Soviet colours and it was a pretty good kit despite the canopy being a bit distorted😁

    Too bad the kit is subpar. Nice job detailing the cockpit. Too bad you didn't use the pilot figure. I like the camo paint scheme. Happy modeling.

    PS: Aah, no dreaded swastika on the tail fin. If it was on the real plane, it should be on the model. IMHO.

    • @Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits
      @Luca_Sprues_Model_Kits  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Bill. Yeah I realised I forgot to mention the pilot which is better moulded than the rest of the plane! At some point I’ll have to paint some of the pilots I forget to do with their kits!
      I know it’s such a tricky one. I leave them off only beacuse I don’t want TH-cam to freak out but I agree, it’s a bit ignorant of the truth about the plane to leave it off.

      It's a good kit, other than cockpit detail and if you put a pilot in and close the canopy, in this scale you will really struggle to see anything inside anyway.
