Excellent review! I always find 6 months reviews extremely valuable just to understand the quality of products the company produces rather than just a product itself.
@@youremybiggestfan yes, you shouldnt wait such a long time for it to be on discount. i'd say wait max. 3 years. but after the tab s9 is released it won't be available on the official samsung store, so your best option would be to wait until the s8 and do a trade-in. I just got a refurbished Samsung Galaxy s6 that I am absolutely loving. I'm really glad I went with the smaller size to be honest. I can totally see how the at 7 plus works for certain people but I'm really glad they kept their smaller 11-in version as well because I could not imagine going much bigger than the 10 and 1/2-in I already have. It's the right size for the mobility I need since I already have a 13-in laptop. Although funny story, I do not have a Samsung phone because I have a Google Pixel 3. You're right I I can't imagine why you would have an iPhone and a Samsung tablet but I thought it was funny because there's dozens of great Android phones that people compare with the Samsung tablet really well and that's exactly what I've done. Love that you do these updates months after the products come out, so often we see reviewers do unboxings and like 15 minutes of playing around with it and then you never hear from them again so it's really difficult as a consumer that maybe didn't buy it in the first two or three months. Reviews like this one are extremely helpful.
The larger options of both Surface and S-tab products have slightly less dpi then the smaller versions, so the size increase isn't fully realised. If you hold and use the devices in your hand your will probably adjust the distance for legibility so you will end up seeing the sized rectangle with similar visual fidelity. The larger size options are best utilized as desktop replacements when using set still, sat at arms length.

I'm in a similar boat. I currently own a 10.1 Galaxy Tab A from 2016, and I'm looking into getting the Tab S7+ 8GB Ram 256GB model. Not sure if I need a tablet at the moment though, so I'm on the fence. The current Black Week deals from Samsung are pretty good though, so the S7+ would be a great investment. I used to use my Tab A mostly for media consumption (Spotify at home), and gaming (multiple 3D intense games), but then over the years I just moved all my Android tasks to my PC by using 2 or more emulators. I haven't touched my Tab A in over 12 months to be honest. With emulators you save battery life, can multitask more, and everything runs much smoother than it would on any tablet (iPads included). Emulators on a powerful computer. I'm struggling to find any use for a tablet (and a good tablet at that, either S7+ or a new iPad) for my personal life. A purchase would be hard to justify. Maybe consuming media on the go while I'm in my car, or finishing documents on the go (again, probably in my car), taking notes on the go...I'm not sure. Most people would just take a quick note on their phone, or make a voice note on their phone. Emailing is done through the phone, banking through the phone, moving files through the phone, music (Spotify etc.) through the phone. It's really tough to find use for a tablet. The only thing I like about the S7+ that I've seen videos of recently is the multitasking function, where you can run 3 apps/windows at the same time, you can save this 3 app configuration into one icon, and open it all at once by clicking on it. This is great multitasking. You can open 3 things you use on a daily basis really quickly (great especially for media and news). So the 3 app thing is great. There is is also the idea of having the S7+ as an extra extension to your PC; You can use apps like SuperDisplay or SpaceDesk for example to not mirror but "extend" your PC screen to your Android device. For a phone screen this would be overkill, because the gap between PC screens and a Phone screen is just to large (moving things over from your PC screen to a 6 inch phone screen is just silly), but for a large S7+ screen this makes sense. I'm using 2 large PC monitors for example, and I could have the S7+ on a stand as a third extended screen, where I could move things over too, detach the tablet, and walk through the apartment with it, either watching something myself, or showing people stuff. You aren't going to carry a 26 ince or larger PC screen with you...but you can conveniently carry a tablet with you as an extended screen. That's a plus. So there it is. I like the 3-app-multitasking function which you can safe multiple variations of, and minimize + open quickly, and I like the screen extension function. This is pretty much it. Now, it is worth it to get the S7+ just for that? I don't know. The Samsung deals currently are enticing though ($300+ off the original price, and I don't mean trade-ins, but regular Black Week price.... -300... it's great). My Tab A lags a lot, so it definitely can't do the things the S7+ can, but do I need a tablet at all, I just don't know. Probably not. But just in case, it's not a bad idea to get the S7+ when it's on such a large discount. I don't know. I definitely would not get it at full price.
Great review. Good to hear from someone who actually uses the device daily for months on end. I need a new tablet. Between this and the new iPad pro 11 inch. Still undecided.
I'm in late 30s. And I've slowly grown to love tablets. I was a textbook type of guy. Back then in college no one really used laptops as thry did now. The internet wasn't fast and it was patchy and only in location of campus. Then laptops got more powerful as did phones and the whole Hotspot thing happened. Which made laptops useful. But as time progressed. I found laptops to be more ofna burden to Cary than anything. Tablets nowadays are so powerful that a keyboard and your good to go. Samsung has that whole dex feature and the pen. Amazing.
I bought both, ipad pro m1 12.9 and tab S7 plus. If anyone have seen HDR on ipad, they probably will be amazed and wouldn't mention any other tablet in comparison, but I still ended up keeping tab S7 plus for its aspect ratio, price point and android versatility in general.
Just bought it 6GB/128GB WiFi only version. I imediately noticed that 120Hz refresh is a huge battery guzzler. Turned it off and improved battery life considerably. Regarding charging - that tiny charger is a joke, gets very hot and it worried me. I think that high-end tablet should have better charger not tiny one which is cranked to the max. Also smart cover... uff... price... i wish Samsung would stop aiming for "Apple level" in pricing.
Just got my S7 plus your video helped me make that decision, I really like that you can text n make phone calls from your tablet very convenient I would totally recommend the S7 plus great video!👍✌

It's a pricey device. I had a MacBook Pro from a couple of years ago, though, and I traded it in for this. I do light video editing in 4K, podcasting, light gaming, reading, comic reading, etc. This device is fantastic for all of this. I think the big thing I realized with this is that I don't need a laptop for that stuff really any more. Great 6 month review.
I am still enjoying my tablet and use it right next to my desktop computer use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I have the keyboard case and often fire up my amazon workspace within dex I kinda feel that samsung made it better with the integration with the phones and earbuds. I dont have to worry about firing up a hotsop the phone and the tablet does that itself. And Samsung recently added the automatic switch with their earbud so i can go from phone to tablet without any additional tinkering.
Excellent review ,I'm a civil engineer I've used mine for nearly a year ,drawings ,mark ups, QA,photos videos ,with a site carry case , I'm an old fashioned guy I am now virtually paperless. Never thought it could be done
The screen has held up very well , no scratches, the only time I have trouble is in the rain, i imagine all similar devices would act the same I'm going to stop using my laptop and use my S7 for everything
More detail: Before this came out, the biggest Android tablets were under 11 inches diagonal. When reading e-textbooks on treadmills or elliptical machines, this meant that I had to constantly pinch and zoom on tables, diagrams, pullouts, etc, which is really annoying in the middle of exercise. The Tab S7+ is just big enough that I can read small text in e-textbooks without pinching or zooming even while using cardio machines at the gym. I absolutely would never use an official Samsung case. Those things provide zero drop protection, and I definitely need that at the gym.
It is a great machine, but when will Samsung change that anti-reflective coating. They need to increase the brightness and change that next gen. The OLED screen is the main selling point for me
16x10 is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If you watch a lot of video on it, I feel like 16x10 is best because you’ll end up with a bigger viewing area without the black bars on top and bottom of it. My iPad 11 ends up with a small screen when I’m landscape mode because it’s not 16x10.
Great review. The only thing I would love Samsung to do, is create a tablet with a display which fits an A4 sheet of paper. That would make this an excellent business tool.
2:17 Actually Huawei's App Multiplier is the ultimate solution for app optimizations on Android tablets, they already optimized 3000+ Chinese apps. Basically, it's something allowing the App to generate a split screen view by itself.
Great review. I've had my eye on this for a while. Now the price dropped to $899 straight from Samsung for the 512 model, I made my purchase instantly. It will be used for playing media and media editing.
I bought it a few days ago for $375 (since I am a college student)! I saw that deal and thought it was too good to pass up. It arrives tomorrow and I am very excited.
I've had a 7+ since day one and I still love it. What more can you ask for a tablet running android is ultimate, widgets galore I love just staring at the thing
Color accuracy is poor for creativity and media consumption of how creators intended them to look. True black but not true in all other colors like in iPads
I got this tablet Yesterday by trading in my 2018 ipad Pro 11 inch model. ipad certainly has better App line up but this tablet is the best for my use case . I use tablets mainly for media consumption s productive stuff like note taking. Also, this one is a great companion for my PC and Note 20 Ultra.
Well, too quick there. I returned the logitech keyboard as 7 plus is too big to fit in landscape mode. Any good keyboard case recommendations? Samsung official case is too expensive. Not worth to buy at 229... will buy if it goes on sale.. not more than 120 or so.
I just got one recently, I went for the Mystic Blue colour with a navy book cover, and I love it! I upgraded from the Tab A 2019, and it is so much better! Thumbs up for a great review!
For the pen you have a choice of soft tips and hard tips. The soft gives a more realistic pencil feel with the hard more like a fine point pen. If you don't like the rubber rubbing off on the screen use the hard tips.
Lol, I hear ya. I may be wrong but I believe the tab S6 came with some extra tips, both styles. They're in a small white box. Hope you didn't toss them.
3months+ long-term reviews of any product always gets a like from me 👏👏👏 Currently S7+ (full package) being $800 vs $1,600 for the 12" M1 iPad Pro is a BIG deal for me. Sure the iPad is better, but the software is not a PC yet to justify double the price of the S7+. Maybe iPadOS 15 will change that though. Btw, how's standby battery on yours? My Tab S6 has an issue where the battery drains anywhere from 20-40% overnight :(
Just ordered this for my wife's Bday to replace her 10 year old? Amazon Kindle fire hdx 8.9. Hope she likes it. Arrives Saturday. We have unlocked Samsung S10 phones and are pretty happy with them.
Just started looking for a tablet, so this really helps me! Thank you! Also, question, does it have pressure sensitivity? I will use it mainly for drawing so that's what I'm concerned about.
Its far better. I own both. I don't really see the Surface/Windows as having a tablet experience, it can be used as one though, but it works best with a keyboard. The S-tab is _far_ more responsive and snappy. There is no comparison in the pen also, in terms of responsiveness, handwriting recognition and usefulness. Drawing apps are better on the S-Tab. The screen of the S-Tab clearly wins too.
I thought I would use dex, but I never use it. I think one reason is that when I switch over, I don't have all my same folders. They should transfer over.
Hi. I’m thinking about buying either this S7+ 12.4” tablet or the S7 FE 12.4” tablet. Its for my daughter for Christmas. She’s almost 18. She will mainly be using for drawings and watching Netflix and TH-cam and surfing online. But I mainly want to give it to her for her drawings sketches and paintings. She has a cheaper older tablet that lags and its terrible. She might end up using it next year for college too when she’s done with HighSchool. Based on this, which one would you recommend? Thanks a lot.
I just ordered this tablet(256/8GB) and I am excited to see how well it will function/sinc with the watch, phone and tv that I own. I had a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the screen flicker was a nightmare! All my friends have apple products and I truly enjoy the iPad Pro. Since all of my media is Samsung. I figured I would give it a try. Does anyone have any suggestions for a tablet mount for the vehicle, when I am overlanding?
@@Serrenoa Yes and the tablet functions great. It paired well with the phone, watch and TV. My only gripe is with some of the apps. Some of the apps were designed for a phone and not a tablet, Facebook is a perfect example. Gaia Gps app for the tablet in the vehicle, when out on the trails in nature, works great!
@@DemonPlasma I was actually wondering about this a few days ago, and a possible A8 tablet too. I really hope Samsung can give the Lite version great specs while still keeping the price reasonable. A Snapdragon 865, 90Hz QHD display, and at least 6GB of RAM would be nice. Don't care about the cameras as I rarely take pictures with my Galaxy Tab S2 so Samsung could give it a potato lens if they wanted to.
S pen in previous models was so good there was only one problem with it namely: " -it was too good..." ... Actually there was second problem with it... -it didn't get lost enough... So they had to bring it outside...

Just picked up a 7+ 128gb for $375 directly from Samsung! I have a feeling its gonna beat out my iPad 4 across the board. I guess I’ll know on the 12th :)
The reason for the 16×10 ratio that makes the tab taller and less wider is that so when you watch video the whole tab fills up and there is very less of that black part which blends in with the tab brizils...

Hello Techodyssey. I'm looking for an upgrade from my a7 lite for streaming and browsing. I want to upgrade to the flagship tablets but can't decide which one to get. Would you please give me some advice on which one to get? Thank you.
Just a critique. I was looking for Galaxy tab reviews. You may as well have done audio only because 90% of the video is looking at you....not the tablet. Thanks for describing the tablet tho. :)
You make good points but I have some constructive critisism, In most of the video the product you talk about is not in view, and the brief moments it is are too jerky to get a good look of what you are trying to show. I would suggest slowing down the pace a bit and having the camera pointed at the product with a voicetrack overlay.

S7+ The Best Tablet on 2020!!! I'll Wait for S7+ Lite & S8+ this Year!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Great review. Good to hear from someone who actually uses the device daily for months on end. I need a new tablet. Between this and the new iPad pro 11 inch. Still undecided.
Thank you. I'm glad it was helpful and you enjoy it. Thanks for watching
Do you still own the m1 iPad?
@@bryeetsonny9458 nope
Just bought it 6GB/128GB WiFi only version. I imediately noticed that 120Hz refresh is a huge battery guzzler. Turned it off and improved battery life considerably. Regarding charging - that tiny charger is a joke, gets very hot and it worried me. I think that high-end tablet should have better charger not tiny one which is cranked to the max. Also smart cover... uff... price... i wish Samsung would stop aiming for "Apple level" in pricing.
Exceptional Review! I used to have an IPad! Apple is just to proprietary for me. Samsung gives you so much more. I love this tablet!
What more does Samgung give you?
Solid review, love the pace that you talk at
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
Just got my S7 plus your video helped me make that decision, I really like that you can text n make phone calls from your tablet very convenient I would totally recommend the S7 plus great video!👍✌
Awesome. Glad I could help.
Hey man I'm planning to buy one as well. It'd be great if you tell me about your experience of s7 plus as an option in 2022
@@stephenmathew8812 just so you know there is 2 kinds one is wifi only n one is with a sim card n wifi I got the one with the Sim card so I can text n make phone calls with it there both great n I've did alot of research n the s7 plus is the best for work n play you don't need a laptop anymore as the s7 plus can do the job of a laptop it's a power house tablet
Be sure to enable protect battery. Also leaving it plugged in does no dmg to the battery
You don't need the option enabled to protect the battery but keeping it plugged in constantly will break it though
@@SKYELOVER i had my tablet since launch and still going strong
It's a pricey device. I had a MacBook Pro from a couple of years ago, though, and I traded it in for this. I do light video editing in 4K, podcasting, light gaming, reading, comic reading, etc. This device is fantastic for all of this. I think the big thing I realized with this is that I don't need a laptop for that stuff really any more. Great 6 month review.
I am still enjoying my tablet and use it right next to my desktop computer use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I have the keyboard case and often fire up my amazon workspace within dex
I kinda feel that samsung made it better with the integration with the phones and earbuds. I dont have to worry about firing up a hotsop the phone and the tablet does that itself.
And Samsung recently added the automatic switch with their earbud so i can go from phone to tablet without any additional tinkering.
I am definitely a fan of OneUI
Excellent review ,I'm a civil engineer I've used mine for nearly a year ,drawings ,mark ups, QA,photos videos ,with a site carry case , I'm an old fashioned guy I am now virtually paperless. Never thought it could be done
Very cool!
How's the screen holding up? Have you broken/cracked it?
The screen has held up very well , no scratches, the only time I have trouble is in the rain, i imagine all similar devices would act the same
I'm going to stop using my laptop and use my S7 for everything
I bought mine for small text (PDFs, e-textbooks, etc), and for that it has been wonderful.
Nice! I'm glad it's working well for you
Do you annotate those pdf’s?
No, I don't amputate annotate PDF files.
More detail:
Before this came out, the biggest Android tablets were under 11 inches diagonal.
Im watching this video on tab s7+. Also my apps run smoothly and fine
Nice!
@@TechOdyssey thx!
First person who put the stylus at the corners ! Thanks for that
You're welcome! :)
That would be nice
The Microsoft Surface line does that, but its tablet performance is poor, being a windows OS device.
Yeah I really adore mine. About 7 maybe 8 months old and I just love it. Don't even know what else to say

Same here dude ! The best tech I've ever purchased. It's amazing, especially for school!

For the pen you have a choice of soft tips and hard tips. The soft gives a more realistic pencil feel with the hard more like a fine point pen. If you don't like the rubber rubbing off on the screen use the hard tips.
If only the tablet came with.... Tips.

Yes. That needs to be improved for the S8

3months+ long-term reviews of any product always gets a like from me 👏👏👏
Currently S7+ (full package) being $800 vs $1,600 for the 12" M1 iPad Pro is a BIG deal for me. Sure the iPad is better, but the software is not a PC yet to justify double the price of the S7+.
Maybe iPadOS 15 will change that though.
Btw, how's standby battery on yours? My Tab S6 has an issue where the battery drains anywhere from 20-40% overnight :(

How do the Tab 7+ compare to the Microsoft Surface?
Its far better. I own both. I don't really see the Surface/Windows as having a tablet experience, it can be used as one though, but it works best with a keyboard. The S-tab is _far_ more responsive and snappy. There is no comparison in the pen also, in terms of responsiveness, handwriting recognition and usefulness. Drawing apps are better on the S-Tab. The screen of the S-Tab clearly wins too.
I thought I would use dex, but I never use it. I think one reason is that when I switch over, I don't have all my same folders. They should transfer over.
I never use dex

The reason for the 16×10 ratio that makes the tab taller and less wider is that so when you watch video the whole tab fills up and there is very less of that black part which blends in with the tab brizils...

You make good points but I have some constructive critisism,
In most of the video the product you talk about is not in view, and the brief moments it is are too jerky to get a good look of what you are trying to show.
I would suggest slowing down the pace a bit and having the camera pointed at the product with a voicetrack overlay.
