Yep I know what you mean. I’m in Australia too and using an EV plan with Smart meter with Synergy Perth in our M3 RWD just clocked 4500km and so far cost us $35 and saved $200. Best car ever love it. Thank you Tesla and Elon 👍🇦🇺
@@jful The range is fine, I’m going interstate next month and the trip planner maps out all your stops. Interestingly my trip from Sydney to Wodonga I’ll stop at the same places as I did in my ICE car and for about the same time, only now I plug in at each stop instead of filling up at 1. 1 stop for 15mins, 1 for 25. The long range has ample performance for most people, in fact so does the rear wheel drive. If you’re more concerned about range, the LR has 100K more range than the P. I regularly do track days so opted for the performance. I’ve your not interested in actually using the performance where and how it’s meant to be used, get the LR.
It is too fast for me, glad that you enjoy its crazy acceleration.
It's a no brainer nowadays to switch to an EV especially when doing lots of travel or city driving. Eventually, we will all switch over and I'm sure for some it will be while kicking and screaming 😁 but the financial aspect will be too good to ignore! Personally, I'm waiting for the model 2.

Paying 39 cents per kilowatt here in California. highest rates in American outside of the state of Hawaii. I won't save any money over driving an Ice vehicle, other than the less maintenance to maintain a Telsa. However that being said, I'm for driving an EV as it is a better solution for our environment and I suffer from pollution triggered Asthma and spent the day in the emergency room this last week from a pollution triggered asthma attack and gasoline and diesel exhaust is the prime trigger of my asthma . I want cleaner air to breathe. it is a matter of life and death for many of us suffering from pollution triggered asthma.
I pay about $0.10 per kWh to charge at home. This effectively makes the cost of fuel (in this case electricity) irrelevant in my cost of transportation.
Yep, me too, except it costs me nothing because I have 13.2 kW solar system on my roof with complementary PW'2 to store energy, and charge during peak solar so no grid energy used. EVs are no brainer when you have cheap electricity and solar.
The savings pay for the car lease instead of £6000 in diesel.

I'm retired and live in Australia and have a 13kW rooftop solar system. I have a Tesla M3 LR and use an app to ensure that it is only charged using excess solar. To date I have driven nearly 10,000 kms in 9 months and have put 1539 kWh of solar into the Tesla and yes, I do drive it in standard mode and not chill!😀

I live in Ireland and have an 'EV' electricity plan. I pay 8.25 Euro cent / kWh between 2am and 6am daily. Since the roads are slow around my home, I routinely drive at 100Wh / km. You can work out the cost yourself, it's a little less than 1 Euro cent per km. In USA terms, that's 1.43 US cent per mile.
You math is not correct. Your figures suggest EV charging costs is much more that Gas cars!

I have a 23 model 3 dual long range Home charged did 10250 miles ln past 12 months and spent $457 total no oil changes. Etc etc love this car also love the updated fsd s coming out every month. Only problem is that the car is so much fun to drive id rather drive it myself. What a great company can’t wait for the roadster

Assuming 30 mpg, and $3 USD per gallon, it would cost $0.10 per mile to drive an ICE considering fuel only… but assuming $0.10 cost per kWh and my Tesla EV getting 4 miles per kWh, I’m paying $0.025 per mile. If I’m doing this correctly, I think I get an equivalent of 120 MPG… with the performance of a BMW M3. Amazing!
This is what pisses me off about the Tesla haters: If had stood on my driveway, with my friends, and said; My new car has 500HP, O-60 in 3.6s but does 110mpg and is silent. It doesn’t need services and has more interior space than the X5 it replaced …. They would all be agast. Impressed beyond belief… But when I say it’s a Tesla, they all sneer and get very grumpy! Geeking out on this…. Using the actual cost of super unleaded of $3.79 per gallon and the actual 20 mpg for an M3. The BMW M3 cost per mile is almost $0.20 per mile for gasoline alone. A friend of mine bought a Range Rover and was shocked when they went in for their first oil change and was handed a bill of over $500. Haha…. That’s about what I pay for a full year of electricity!!
GM and others may "sell" their cars to the dealerships, but they also loan the dealerships the money to buy them. The dealerships finance the cars on their lots through the OEM companies that produce them. So in reality GM and company are "selling" their cars to themselves. The dealerships pay the interest on the loans which are frequently rebated.
Lars, be ready for Jim Farley to announce soon a deep licensing deal with Tesla, including definitely AI FSD, OTA computer platform, and probably other Tesla contents too, even BOTS. Why would Jim be so gracious towards Tesla, down to even admitting that Ford EV are not good? I think he is prepping the market for the big decision, which in my opinion will start a stampede for similar deals coming from all the other OEM. Just thinking aloud, there has to be a very significant reason for Jim Farley to be so open. He is very intelligent, and without a very strong motive, he would have never made such admissions. 22,000 GM EVs 'sold' means they pushed this number out to dealers... it would be great if legacy auto would distinguish retail sales or provide cumulative inventory on lots. Legacy has had a hundred years to perfect sales deception...

EVs are growing slowly and steadily. Here in the US on the east coast - you see more and more of them. New home builders are offering a tesla level 2 charger as an option. Having my first EV (2024 Model 3 LR) for 2 months now - I cannot imagine owning anything different. I am spedning about $8.50 (YS) to drive 355 miles. That would be about $59.00 (US) if I used a gas car.
USA & Canada are still way BEHIND Chyna, EU, AU.

Just had a thought. People who currently drive gas or diesel pickup trucks probably have easier access to home charging (own their home, live in suburban or rural areas, have a garage or a driveway, etc.). Once electric pickup trucks prove their value in commercial, construction, and public agency fleets and they reach an inflection point with consumers (e.g., 5-10 percent) their market may expand quickly. EV heavy and light duty truck markets may actually have fewer barriers to home/depot charging infrastructure than EV cars.
TESLA is already proving that w/Tesla semi.
saves Pepsico $$$ Millions annually. same for Modesto.
Cybertruck saves Owner/Operator MORE than Diesel/Hybrids.
Cybertruck cost way less to Maintain.
Cybertruck ROI only 3 months.

Specially as Hydrogen and e-FOOLS are SCAM schemes for stupid investors and politicians. Of course that H2 is very powerful but energy efficiency is 12% or less compared to 21% for ICE. The problem? No one is interested in setting up production beyond actual and infrastructure is far more complexe than an electric power grid. Also here besides Tesla nobody ever set up a seriously working net. Either they came from ICE or oil industry with no idea of the difference for EV and setting up chargers where no woman likes to go and standing in the rain. But not consider that majority would only need home and destination charge. By the way with bad electric power mix in EU EV are at 68% energy efficiency so that already with a fair price for electric power - not the one slavers charge at HPC - understandably you save a lot of money. My Kia EV6 in the usual size of my former mostly German premium cost much less with all in and outpowers the former in nearly all disciplines. So me and my company in 2008 where considered stupid to start with a roadster for promotion that was sold 2020 as near new car getting only once a new gearbox and later new software and battery as an upgrade at a very fair price. So never before sold a virtually new car after more than 100‘000 km and even earning good money. Than the others came in, all the S3XY cars as one of the first believers and customers. Most problems we had were rediculous compared what we were used to from 100 years old carmakers. Most was wishbone rusting and some drivetrain adjustments by an outside expert with some non-Tesla parts and problems were fixed. Costs have been very low in comparison and a battery fix one it would appear would be done by a special shop in Croatia if Tesla will not offer themselves. A friend of mine from Switzerland too with his old model S safed for fixing his battery some 24‘000 CHF cheaper than at Tesla shop here and had a nice vacation while waiting for the fix! We by the way save a high 30% on fleet TCO including all amortization of chargers, Powerwall and PV we share with others!

I don't think Tesla will release a supercheap car ($25,000 USD or less) in the next few years. This is because it would both add many more cars to the roads, possibly increasing traffic and putting additional strain on the charging network, and potentially cannibalize future Robotaxi services. Thus, they may want to have Robotaxi fully deployed before introducing a supercheap car.
HINT , you wont be able to BUY the 25k Tesla , because its a AI-4 Robotaxi.
@@markplott4820 They may wait until AI-5 for the full scale public Robotaxi dedicated vehicle service rollout. Maybe they'll do smaller pilot launches and software improvements on AI-4 until then.

Funny how both you and Ryan Shaw eluded talking about the very clear hint that HW3 won't be enough for FSD.
Tesla's HW3 is much faster than waymos. Even if you lead, you will not stop developing. Then you will be behind your competitors. Tesla's FSD HW3 can drive all over the world, Waymo can only partially drive in its micro world. Waymo has stalled and can't improve because of their reliance on their radars. Tesla is 10 years ahead of all competition because of all their unique data and the way they utilize it. And they only increase their lead every month.

Tesla pricing must take into account the $7500 tax credit. Adding a paint or interior color should not make you lose the tax credit.
Why has there been such a long delay to updating or refreshing the Model S and X interiors with the new ambient lighting.
Many people are holding off buying a new Model S or X while waiting for the new features. Why the slow roll out ?
The focus on FSD is great but the cars need timely updates to their features. The slow roll out hurts sales.
New features need to be rolled out promptly and not dragged out. The lack of focus on the Model S and X is hurting volume sales.
All the costs for research, development and amortization of manufacturing equipment for the S and X should be written off by now.
It is time to lower the prices of the Model S and X to reflect the reduced costs and increase sales volume. Glad to see the price drop by $2000
Should be more like $5000 drop. You need to be able to pick a desired exterior color and interior color and still be eligible for the IRA $7500 tax cut.
Missing out on the $7500 tax cut because you chose to pick an exterior ($1500) and interior color ($2000) is just crazy. Paying $2000 more for interior color and then losing the $7500 tax credit does not make financial sense for most people. The Model S and X should have reduced costs to manufacture over time as R&D and amortization of production equipment should already be written off. These vehicles need an additional $2000 price drop.
Tesla needs to take a big step forward quickly. Their batteries and architecture is getting old. We need the 800 volt system, steer by wire, and canbus from cybertruck in all models asap. But most importantly, we need the CATL batteries which charge in 10 min!

Dealing with Tesla service, you get the feeling that the customer is an inconvenient afterthought to their business model. Really terrible in every way. Thinking of BMW for next EV. At least they treat their customers like humans.

Elon Musk tends to be optimistic about time to when a product becomes available and may be 1 or 2 yeagrs late.
ULA finaly launched in 2024, the delay is 10 lyears so far.
Jeff Bezos blue origin was founded in 2000 it has been 24 years so far no launch.
So so why is no one talking about ULA or Blue origin time and?
