I am about tackle a water pump and wheel bearings on my 07. This video was made by a mechanic for mechanics. No bs showing us how to remove the tire and all that other flim flam. Top shelf video sir. Top shelf
Torque spec for spindle nut would be nice also. I read that if the hub bearing bolts aren't all the same torque it could cause premature failure. Nice video
Good explanation and documentation of what needs to be done to change the wheel bearing, but you will be changing that Dorman bearing again within 2 years.
Good looking out my brother. I have to do mine on my 2012 tundra so this video just made it that much more simple to do it my self lolol… Much love from Las Vegas 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Same I don't have a clue I'm the 5th owner on a 2013 111k miles and I'm probably the only owner that knows how to maintain it I had a rear Caliper seized on the rotor all 4 brakes needed the guides greases and the pads replaced
Great video! I’m curious why Toyota calls it a grease cap but doesn’t say to use grease. Anything wrong with applying some axle grease before putting the cap on?
Thank you for the video, I just ordered all the parts. Went with TRQ not Dorman, they didn't have the best reviews especially for how pricey they are. How are they doing so far?
Yes they are already pressed in. However if you have a press at home to remove the old bearing that eliminates the need for the entire new hub whereas you can just replace the bearings.
Jus had both wheel bearings on my 07 Tundra done a couple weeks ago and now my rusty, nasty dust shield is rattling horribly on one side.... Not sure why they didn't recommend replacing those since they were in there anyways but I'm not happy about it!!!

Torque spec for spindle nut would be nice also. I read that if the hub bearing bolts aren't all the same torque it could cause premature failure. Nice video
Torque spec is 249 lb-ft for the spindle nut.

I got those exact same wrenches. One of a very few items I bought off the tool truck, not snap on tho.
Great one. Thanks for sharing

The part that you didnt replace (dust shield?) how can you tell if it needs to be replaced or not? Thanks!
Thanks for video! 39mm socket ordered, just incase :)
Where did you get the 39mm socket?
@@timeallen6900 amazon has it for sure :)
Thank you for the video, I just ordered all the parts. Went with TRQ not Dorman, they didn't have the best reviews especially for how pricey they are. How are they doing so far?
I noticed you did not need to use a press for the wheel bearing? Is that because the new one was already pressed together?
Yes they are already pressed in. However if you have a press at home to remove the old bearing that eliminates the need for the entire new hub whereas you can just replace the bearings.
Good vid!

Hey thanks for posting this video
So what is the price of that specialty socket
Great video
Is this for a 4WD?
Im assuming so. Because other wise there wouldn't have been an axle there. I was thinking gear oil would leak out but guess not.
Yes its 4wd
No heat oil spilled because he never change the axle seal as he mentioned.
was looking for info on... should i replace them whether bad or not after say ...160k miles?
No
@ thanks that was long time ago 😂
Did you torque?
Hey my wheel hub is totally different. No cotter keys 1012 2wd. I can send a picture. 4.6 L.
Thanks man.
nice job
¡Gracias!
😊 muchas gracias por el video, me va a servir mucho para cuando haga el trabajo en mi 08 tundra‼️
can you remove the rotors and brake pads first, before removing the axle nut? thanks!
Yes definitely
4wd?
Yes
Man i hate working on rusty piles of shit...
Pretty sure that’s a 39 mm socket….
All bearings should be assemblies instead of pressed in style
I agree.
@@GEARMOAUTO so no need for a press with this assembly then? maybe just a hub puller if its rustted up
Dorman 🤔👎👎👎
What's the torque capacity with the 39MM?
Maybe know the proper names of parts and tools before acting like a technician....
😂
