Not sure if I would have watched it if I saw it was over 30 minutes total but I watched the trailer and all three parts no problem! You made it very fun. I loved the music, the photography, the edits and the camaraderie! My friends and I are inspired to film our own adventure now!

    Chris- I just discovered your videos and binge-watched them. I love the camaraderie between you and Rob, and I enjoy your camerawork; I can tell that you take the time to get interesting shots, which is a pleasure to watch. It's such a major step up from the crappy and shaky GoPro footage that people pass off as cinematography on TH-cam. My buddies and I have just gotten into bikepacking and have done a few trips. Watching your stuff is inspiring. Keep it up and keep pedaling!

      Hey Ed, Rob and I both use a salsa exp series anything cradle. I’ve used it for years and really like it. I’d recommend just getting the cradle and finding the right size stuff sack for you. You can buy it with salsas bag but it’s huge.

    Such a great series to watch. Thanks for making this! The ending really resonates with me. I've only been bikepacking once so far but it was 60 days long. Kind of the opposite extreme. Have you done any long trips like that? I love it, everything feels so different the longer you're out and it's like you just go deeper and deeper into another world. Still, the long wait in between is rough, always feeling the pull to go back out. I can't wait to go back into that world this year.

    • @pnwbikepacking
      @pnwbikepacking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow 60 days is a long trip!!!! The longest trip Rob and I have been on was the XWA trip which was only 9 days. We intended to do the Tour Divide a few years ago but work messed that plan up. I can totally see how a long trip like that would feel different. It's hard enough to come back to work and "real life" after a 3-4 day trip, I can't imagine a 60 day trip! Are you planning another big trip this year? What's it gonna be?

    • @CanadianSledDog
      @CanadianSledDog ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pnwbikepacking We're in Nova Scotia, planning to ride the snowmobile trails and wilderness areas this year and it's gonna be the longest, shortest daily distance bikepacking tour ever lol, because I'm bringing a puppy. My dog trotted beside me last time, average 20 km per day, the 10 mo puppy will only be able to safely trot 5 km per day so I'm getting a fat tire trailer for the dogs to take turns riding in. We'll probably be out for some 60 days again, but only cover about 1000 km or maybe less. One day, the plan is, that puppy will be a canine endurance athlete able to trot some 50 to 100 km per day. Then we're going to Newfoundland and Labrador.

    I had this on my list for the spring, but it looks pretty formidable. I read there was sand, but this shows another level of sand than I took from the reports....Ugh. Maybe I'll hold a plan in place and be ready for a post-rain window to run down and try it when the sand is (hopefully) more compacted. Or maybe when I just want punishment....

    • @pnwbikepacking
      @pnwbikepacking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @brettfoster6786

    Sand and more sand. I think a fat tire bike with 5” would have been better ? Great watching your trip.

    • @pnwbikepacking
      @pnwbikepacking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, its a bit of a toss up. The 5" tires would have slowed us down on the non sandy sections. Generally though, I think you're right 5" would have been better.

      @brettfoster6786 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i'd say if you aren't very comfortable with scrambling, doing this by yourself wouldn't be a great idea! I use a Sony A7Siii camera. (I came from a Fuji XT4, but frankly preferred the ergonomics of the Sony). I've had the camera for a few years now and like it a lot!
