  • ➡️ AAA tested reverse automatic emergency braking systems in four popular crossovers, from the 2023 model year, to see how well they performed in a variety of real world situations.
The results weren't great as the brakes were only automatically applied in 65% of test runs that examined what happened backing out of a parking space into the path of an oncoming vehicle with an adjacent parked vehicle blocking the view. More interestingly, a collision was prevented in 2.5% of test runs.
Thankfully, the systems were more adept at detecting a child. In this scenario, the brakes were automatically applied in 75% of the tests and they prevented a collision 50% of the time.

Do these have rear cross traffic alert enabled? Because I’ve had 2 Hyundais and the RCTA works great.
