In some ways I like this movie more than the first, but overall, I think the first one is better. The advantage with a sequel like this is that we're familiar with the characters and can go a bit deeper and at worst it's a hang out movie. You get to hang out with characters you've gotten really familiar with and enjoy watching.

I've seen lots of stuntmen and martial artists speak in interviews about what it's like to work with Jackie. they all say the same thing, he has extreme high standards and will do the same scene over and over and over, all day even if he has to. He's a perfectionist. Its why Jackie pretty much stopped doing Hollywood movies, they don't allow the time needed for him to get his scenes right and he doesn't like that the fight scenes are always chopping to different angles because the actors lack to skill to sell a fight.

And what we see here is actually theyr best attempt in trying to complete the scene without laughter,and even Jeremy has started half chuckling at that point,but manages to compose himself.

Like seriously does anyone in the west knows anything about Jackie Chan beside the Rush Hour movies? Sure Rush Hour 2 may be his best movie in the west(more like a Chris Tucker movie than a Jackie one especially the first and third one) but many of his Hong Kong movies are way better than this in terms of stunts and fights. Just check out Wheels on Meals, the 80s Police Story movies, Dragons Forever, Project A, Armor of God 2: Operation Condor, Drunken Master 2 etc. or his movies during Rush Hour era like 2004 New Police Story Rumble in the Bronx, Gorgeous and Who Am I. Just reacting to Rush Hour movies feels like a disservice to Jackie's legacy(he never liked the Rush Hour movies)
