Have to disagree with the "magnum opus" bit. None of the singles so far have been better than anything off of Mothership imo. And even that isn't their magnum opus.
Shut up, Christian. The songs from JJ are def on par with Mothership which almost any fan WILL say is their best album. Coupled with the length of JJ, it very well could be their MO. Let me guess, you think DBM2 is their magnum opus *rolls eyes*
This is the song I was looking for. Synergy was such an amazing first single. And while I love Pop Off and the music video, it has a similar structure to Synergy. This is the one that has me needing this album. This is the one that has me thinking this will dethrone Mothership as the goat for me. Tilian sounds incredible, raw and full of emotion. Jon spitting some of his best work here, what a sick breakdown. The highlight is of course that this has Andrew written all over it. The second verse guitar riff changing but still imitating the first verse. And the bridge/outro is so haunting and smooth, I wanted it to go on longer. This is DGD at their best. After everything that has been going on, I couldn't be more grateful this album is still coming out. For Tim
As long as Dance Gavin Dance is around once I have grandchildren I'll be happy. I want to be able to show them good music, then I'll be a happy ol chap.
Yeah that’s not about to happen. Band is gonna fade back into obscurity if they keep Tilian removed, which seems like the path they’re taking. People like to pretend Tilian didn’t break the band into stardom, but he absolutely did. They were a fairly small band before he brought them up.
God dammit Tim left us with some funky shit. Those bass lines are funky AF 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 God bless you Tim. Tilian and Jon and Will and Andrew and Matt killed this shit as well. everything tied in so well

@@FrankRiver2000 Because there is no real validity to the statements at all. If he denies the events in the way she is telling them, which he has, then why wouldn’t they go a bit further to at least discover the validity? Ask her to take it to court? Come out of anonymity to them? These are completely anonymous online accusations. Tilian admitted to sleeping with her, and that is the ONLY aspect of it to be known as true. Her retelling of the events could be completely embellished. It doesn’t help that she lied to him from the very beginning about being a fan of the band. Tilian doesn’t want to date fans, but nobody wants to give him that credit. She was a massive fan of the band and lied to him from the start about it. That’s such a huge red flag that EVERYBODY is ignoring in favor of blindly destroying his life and career.

Now, this was something a little different, and makes me all that much more excited for this release! Not only do these gentlemen put out albums ridiculously quick (it seems), but the fact that this new LP has like 18 songs on it really shows just how impressive & creative DGD is.
This is SO good…like, SOOOOOOO GOOD. It’s RIDICULOUS HOW GOOD THIS BAND IS AS A COLLECTIVE. Jon just makes me laugh with every word screamed from his pretty meow meow face. 😂
Great song, great band! Seriously top 5 in my bands list, right up there with Rise Against, Gojira, and BMTH. We had a good run with Tilian, despite the events that happened, he is a vital part of the success that is shared by all band members. He's a human who fucked up, but his contribution to the DGD discography is not to be put down or ignored. I believe everyone can be redeemed, including him. DGD had come this far, only time will tell how much farther it will go. Best underrated band of all time.
Keep in mind he's not out of the band, yet. Unpopular opinion, but I think with proper therapy and work, Tilian will stay in the band. Does it feel good saying that? No, of course not. But it doesn't change that he, far more than a certain previous example, has been accountable and willing to make changes in his life. If Johnny of all people was allowed to be in the band as long as he was, I feel like it's only fair to wait and see how Tilian does out of therapy. It can't erase the things done, and I'm not saying to forgive him, but the pure fact is he fucked up, he knows he did, and he has become a huge part of this band. He is substitutable, but I feel like much less replaceable, if that makes sense. It's a heartbreaking realization and doesn't taste good ever considering, but I have faith in him rising from that. Unlike some who would sooner become more and more detestable and horrible with time.

Especially with what’s going on in the band. It’s literally like tilian is writing about himself completely in the singles so far. And I definitely feel like this is another mirror album, like mothership, ArtificialSelection and afterburner, this one’s going to be heavy. Tim’s bass lines seal the tone of the song as well.
@@frankhungtw so if you think about it, ALL of dgd’s music if for the listener to interpret for themselves, I’ve sat with the 4 I mentioned and it literally feels like I’m sitting in front of a mirror, being called out by the music and lyrics to every song, being held accountable in it all. And if you think about it too, eidola is a very spiritual band, and nothing to do in the religious sense but more of the practice itself. The way Andrew plays, is like sitting with “god”. Being exposed to truth in the sound of mathematical notes, tones and resonance. Tilian’s second verse kind of describes him only being able to tell the truth in the form of song and the last 4 albums, he’s written from personal experience/s. I also feel like this song is about his ego death.

This album is shaping up to be their magnum opus I cannot believe how good they are, if this album doesn't hit number 1 I might cry
Have to disagree with the "magnum opus" bit. None of the singles so far have been better than anything off of Mothership imo. And even that isn't their magnum opus.
@@christianfernandez9646 Okay, Christian
@@EidolonReverie Lul at the condescending tone as if you’re God
Shut up, Christian. The songs from JJ are def on par with Mothership which almost any fan WILL say is their best album. Coupled with the length of JJ, it very well could be their MO. Let me guess, you think DBM2 is their magnum opus *rolls eyes*
@@JiuJitsuTrashcan Because I am
This one sounds a lot like Eidola! So glad to see how Andrew is leaving his mark on the way the band sounds since he officially joined
sounds exactly like eidola
Dude you’re right! It’s got Eidola vibes for sure. This is my new favorite 100%.
The intro for sure. Made me think this was gonna Andrew on vocals.
This song was Andrew’s baby/brainchild. :)
And he absolutely killed it. They all did.
Wait he's in the band?
Jon be throwing some quick cyphers👀 the song was amazing, I cannot wait for the album to come out!!!
I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND FOR LIKE 11 YEARS
THANK YOU FOR EXIST IN MY TIME
This is the song I was looking for. For Tim
I never really got into them until synergy dropped, and then I heard this song and I've been obsessed with it. Best song on the album by far
Phenomenal! Fresh swan sound in the summer!
Can’t wait for another swan fest
Is every song on the album a banger? It's shaping up to be that way.
God dammit Tim left us with some funky shit. Those bass lines are funky AF 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 God bless you Tim. Tilian and Jon and Will and Andrew and Matt killed this shit as well. everything tied in so well
Sometimes I go listen to the outro of the Count Bassy instrumental just to groove with that bassline again. It just doesn't feel real for him to be gone.
@@maryhales4595 agreed. That's such a good bass outro. I love it. I learned that on bass a while back. It's so dang gooooooood. Such a shame we lost such a great young musician and human being. 😔😔😔
Jon is a beast. I can't believe how he is getting better and better with each song
Jon is really shining on this album.
So beautiful, Easily top 3 favorites for me. Tilian, I hope you find healing from the impact of Tim's death. While I LOVE DGD, I followed you here from Tides of Man and if somehow you were not able to return, I believe this will be it for me. Your synergy with Jon is irreplaceable.
Yeah same. I’m done if he is. And I was listening to DGD long before Tides of Man. 13 years I’ve dedicated to these dudes, but I just can’t agree with the way they’ve handled this and didn’t back him at all.
@@Tanwolly why would they back him if he did something wrong lmfao
@@FrankRiver2000 he did something wrong, by having sex with a girl who at the time allowed him to have sex with her? lol
@@FrankRiver2000 Did you even look into this at all? Why would they back him? Do you support your friends? Do you actually love them? How do you know he did something wrong? People accuse others every day. Maybe something wrong did happen here. But the way you say that, you simply believe any accusation being lobbed at someone.
Now, this was something a little different, and makes me all that much more excited for this release! Not only do these gentlemen put out albums ridiculously quick (it seems), but the fact that this new LP has like 18 songs on it really shows just how impressive & creative DGD is.
One of the best / nuanced breakdowns I've heard.
Rest in peace Tim but I'll never forget these beautiful funky bass lines. You were phenomenal man.
Really on the nose given the current situation. Hope everything works out well for these guys. Been a hell of a couple of months for them.
That dissonant guitar from 3:28 onward over Jon’s screams gives me Underoath vibes and I’m here for it. Love DGD forever 💜
I'm crying, are incredible, much love to all of you
Heart is heavy for DGD. All I want is justice and good fucking music. Love you
This is SO good…like, SOOOOOOO GOOD. It’s RIDICULOUS HOW GOOD THIS BAND IS AS A COLLECTIVE.
Jon just makes me laugh with every word screamed from his pretty meow meow face. 😂
I had high expectations.
They were surpassed by a lot
I love how every few summers DGD has provided wonderful bops that let me link core memories to the music…just thank you so much 💖
from 2:10 until 2:55 is probably my favorite thing DGD has put out since Instant Gratification. what a rollercoaster of sounds.
Unlike some who would sooner become more and more detestable and horrible with time.
think he F'd up more by responding to the allegation. there was no crime even alleged but somehow his response confirmed it in the eyes of the media.
@@murmurva just get rid of him a d throw in Johnny Franck. It's about time for a new vocalist anyways.
@@murmurva I sincerely hope he rehabilitates and remains with the guys. This is the most successful and STABLE lineup DGD has ever had, and their popularity has skyrocketed since Instant Gratification. One of my fave bands for sure, alongside ERRA, Pink Floyd & Amorphis!

I can't wait for the instrumental album for this. I love their instrumentals so fucking much
oh my fucking god, this is just pure gold, listen to those Tilian vocals in the middle of the song, that melody hasn't been explored before, also, that outro, fuck!
Best song ever released
I'm so excited to hear Andrew and Jon do these live!!!!
I dont understand how they keep getting better with every album
What a song - RIP TIM, I hope Tilian comes back, and works out all he needs too. The dude is a legend of a vocalist. If for some reason things don't work out, I hope Kurt comes back. New Royal Coda songs are fuckin insane. Jon is getting better at screaming more and more still hoping for some cleans from him just be like him screaming and him coming out of the blue with some narly cleans. I hope we get more WILL/RAP here. I love this band always and I hope they continue to always do music.
LOVE DGD so much but honestly do not think I can support them if they perm replace Tilian. His vocals are 1 of a kind of irreplaceable IMO. The band/label royally fucked up by trying to save their own ass.
@@xhimsa12x tilian is not dgd lmao. The band has proven they can release banger after banger without him. While I'm not saying i hate his work (i fully agree he has a one of a kind voice), but the band can and would survive quite well if he didn't come back
@@xhimsa12x dudes voice is amazing - but I feel they can still go on with out him. If they get the right person - I hope it doesn't happen - i feel the blew everything out of proportion too since this is a METOO era we live in. Just reading the article alone was cringe, and made no sense. But like I said only person I can see carrying the torch of DGD is Kurt or Andrew, I even like Craig Owens and Kellin Quinn. I think they got amazing vocals too. But nobody can top Tilian - that day when I read that news just shattered me.
@@BobShnitzal I agree - even if they just kept Jon they could become something new and better.

How Dance Gavin Dance continue to make fresh vibes, with nods to old styles coupled with unheard ensembles is a true talent.
Rest in Peace Tim Feerick.

This album is gonna be ridiculous. With Tilian and all the stuff. This band always moves on remember they have had problems in the past with lead singer's and rhey always come back. Glad to see the chat supporting this album!
This song is literally one of their best songs of all time
Tillian i miss u... u're the best.
Kinda crazy that the theme of the album is fruits yet there's not a single "strawberry" song in the tracklist.
If you add the numbers of the track list and then multiply by 14 it gives you a number that spells strawberry 🍓

Dude, eidola meets secret band on this one.
I can tell Andrew starts off on guitar because those tones are just so recognizable *inserts pacha meme*
Lyrically, this one hits heavy.
Literally as soon as I heard this I thought “This intro is SO Eidola!”
wdym mirror album
Yeah I see what you mean, I see why they were they were so dedicated to go on tour and release the album as planned
Will said that Andrew pretty much wrote all the guitar parts in this song that's why it sounds so much like Eidola
Big Eidola vibes with those notes in the beginning
I really hope you all can fix this issue with Tilian. This band is too special for this stuff. This music is spectacular.

No matter how you feel about Til. The rest of the band also put their hearts and souls into this. This album to me is what the last two albums should have sounded like but they wanted to try something new. This. This is DGD and the future is yet to come.
So glad they're coming to St. Pete next month. Been way to long since I've seen them live.
fr this just popped up any I've got goosebumps from the anticipation!
The lil intro is like crawling from an abandoned Aztec temple your friend told you about to a small crawlspace in a cave to slightly larger but sadder attic.
And that's nine seconds.
Pleasantly surprised by how polished this sounds! I definitely have high expectations because of how ambitious you guys are being by giving us 18 songs in total on this album! It better be worth the wait 😎
RIP Tim take those gnarly riffs to heaven with you
One of the musical motifs sounds like it was inspired by Counterfeit Shrines by Eidola. "Pigeon in my vision..." a callback to Demo Team from Acceptance Speech. Love the ear candy callbacks to the catalogue and the reintegration of material in a new context.
That intro gives me goosebumps ❤️
Please allow Tilian to come back to the band after his treatment. You guys have all grown so much and I know a lot of people absolutely love what Tilian brings to the band.
He should be treated as innocent until proven guilty. I stand by Tilian and am excited for the new album.
His "stop being a r*pist" therapy? That doesn't exist, don't be delusional.
