Hey Jason! Great advise! I have a question for you or the community, I'm working on building my "basic" package, since I'm starting on this business slowly but surely, and my question is how many lights should include the package? What is the industry standard? 6 up lights and 2 spotlights? If more up lights are required for the hall then that is extra? Should I calculated based on the number of guests? Thank you everybody for your help!
Don't think there's an industry standard. I believe you have to decide what you're going to offer at the price you set, and obviously, that will vary based on the size of the venue.
I WOULD OFFER A FEW DIFFERENT OPTIONS. I WOULD DO THE FULL ROOM UPLIGHTING AND THEN SOME INCREMENTS ON THE OTHER LIGHTS IN SETS OF 2, 4, 6, OR 8 (AT LEAST THAT IS HOW I DO IT)
Good afternoon, Jason, thank you for such an informative video. My partner and I are just starting out with our DJ business, one of the things I am struggling with at the moment is the best source for music. I am using the Pioneer DDJ-Rev 1 along with Serrato Pro, in your opinion what would be the best source for getting quality music at an affordable price that will work with my setup. Again thank you for such an informative video and I look forward to reading your response.
As always, great vid Jason. I'll be sharing this with my couples.
THANKS
Well said Jason! Thank you so much for sharing!

Wind in the sails, brother! Based on this talk, I'm thinking of rebranding my "kickoff call" to a "creativity session." Your words are golden.

AGREED, YOU KINDA HAVE TO DO WHAT FITS BEST FOR YOUR ABILITY AS WELL AS WHAT PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN. I WOULD MAKE DIFFERENT OPTIONS.
Simply stated "You get what you pay for". :)
So how do you try and charge correctly when the venues won't allow all those add ons (Sparklers & Dancing On Cloud)
Dont use them. Your pricing shouldnt be based off of things you cant do .
