With a few exceptions, the majority of European cities do not have huge populations. This is partly due to some European countries being relatively small and others having multiple major cities rather than one large capital city. For example, in the United Kingdom, London is the largest city (and the third-largest European city overall), with a population of around 7.5 million, but there are several other important cities, such as Nottingham, Liverpool, and Birmingham that each have populations of close to a million.
Istanbul in Turkey and Moscow in Russia are by far the largest cities on the European continent (although some may dispute whether they are culturally European, and neither are part of the European Union). Istanbul has a population of almost fifteen million, while 2018 statistics show that Russia's largest city now has more than ten million residents (Saint Petersburg also makes the top five with a population of around five million).
However, these cities are definite outliers, with the statistics showing that populations of between one and three million are more typical for many major European cities, such as Rome (2.3 million), Paris (2.1 million), and Vienna (1.6 million). Europe is also home to plenty of much smaller, but still historically and culturally important, cities. These include Naples in Italy, with a population of around 950,000, Poland's Krakow (755,000), and Amsterdam in the Netherlands (741,000).
As the world continues to urbanize, a handful of countries will account for much of the growth. Urban areas are the home of over 80% of inhabitants in #Europe. The first one-million city in the world was Rome. Industrialization fueled the development of cities on the continent. at the end of the 20th century, 50 cities have a population of over one million people. London, Paris, Manchester, Amsterdam, and Berlin are some of the largest cities developed at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

Istanbul is the largest. go study well
European Istanbul part is smaller than Moscow bro😐
UK👍👍👍💕💕💕
Thank you!
UK is the first urbanized country
Te has comido varias ciudades españolas. Todas las ciudades que presentas son por su área metropolitana. España al menos posee 5 poblaciones dentro de la sexagésima posición a nivel europeo. Y no 2 como presentas.
did u already start the video me requested about the internet in asia fastest to slowest
Not yet bro.
The best of the best videos I have seen
It can be said that Russia has stretched Eastern Europe to Japan and Korea... 😅😅
Sorry, the video is not very good, because here for some cities the inhabitants were taken to the area only up to the city limits, while others were already taken straight away from the neighboring cities. This is not representative.
W.Yorkshire ?!
Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield
Then it's a metropolitan area not a city
Lots of love from Bangladesh ❤
España es un binomio, al que lo está comenzando a orbitar una 3a (aún) pequeña estrella; Valencia. 😁
Metropolitan areas mixed up with urban city areas. Very poor research. But it is mostly the case on youtube, tiktok etc.
Amazing good job.

I'm sorry but this is a very poor video, you cannot compare cities with metropolitan regions. For example, the Hamburg metro area has around 5.4 million inhabitants while the city itself has 1.84 million inhabitants as of 2023. Lisbon as a city on the other hand has around 600k inhabitants and the metro area, which is listed here, has more than 2 million inhabitants. Therefore, Lisbon is by no means bigger than Hamburg, vice versa to what this video suggests
Oh and there is no city that's called 'West Yorkshire', that's just the name of a metropolitan area consisting of the cities of Leeds, Bradford, York, Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees. So this video is very much pointless and not very well researched

Cities in Europe have least population than the city of Asia
It is true.
Krasnoyarsk is in Siberia. Ha ha.
Yes, it is a mistake
@@TOP10ChannelYT another mistake is Kyiv, not Kiev
@@andyqd4723 I think both names being used
@@TOP10ChannelYT you can think whatever you want, but the capital of Ukraine is Київ, in English is Kyiv
@@andyqd4723 « Kiev » is in French.
You compare apples with oranges. Most cities are listed as metropol regions, less as city districts. Example (2023): Paris city has about 2.2 Mio inhabitants (Wikipedia) and here Paris is listed as a metropol region within 11.3 Mio inhabitants. The city of Berlin for example has about 3.7 Mio inhabitants, but the metro regio is about 6.3 Mio people. This seems kinda weird to me...
West Yorkshire isn't a city it's a county in the UK, i think you mean York?
Moscow is the best👍💯 🇷🇺❤❤❤
Paris
I agree.
İstanbul

Good day. I like your films very much. What script do you use for this type of animation?
Too many Russian cities. Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk are missing, and you can roughly understand the list of millionaires Russia
В таком случае где Екатеринбург и Новосибирск?
And again....since when w yorkshire its a city...???!!!!!!!!!!

The video is about cities not
Areas. Bucharest is the bigest urban area in eastern Europe

Good video, but in the period 1950-1991 Belgrade was Yugoslav city, not Serbian
It stands for the cities by currently countries there. Like Berlin would be then divided to West and East Berlin and Moscow and many other cities were with Soviet flags if it were historical
💕🤗😘👉👍
Krasnoyarsk not in Europe
Where are Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg? these have more population than Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. Kazan has less population than Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Omsk.
Wrong data 👎👎👎
This is only in European part
Not quite reliable - in some cases data of vast metropolitan areas (e.g. Italy) are presented, while in many other just cities in city limits.
