I didn’t what anyone I know to die.So I went the corpo way. I’m sad.
The Relic ad being front-and-center was such a nice touch in the staging of this scene.
Yes! It's not all visible in this angle but I remember analysing every little bit of that last scene trying to get hints on what to do. There was an interesting contrast between the red lighting and smoke to the left near Johnny and the Arasaka logo higher and centered. With all the effort put into the tarot cards and symbolism, it felt almost like heaven/hell imagery - a final warning not to place your trust in Johnny, and it's not like he'd been exactly trustworthy up until then either! I just love all the small details in this game

@@SlowWalkthroughs there is a reason why not trusting johnny and helping Hanako alone is the worst ending, called "The Devil" (oh irony)
there is no worse ending than having to put up with days of the exact same medical routine, then either go back and die after month, or let them take your soul and store it for who knows how long in a container
Yeah this scene seems carefuly crafted, it's amazing. Too bad if you reload the relic ad disappears haha.
@@SlowWalkthroughs But look- under the Arasaka logo, there is a red "Brain Wash." This, I think, is meant to hint at Arasaka's intention for you if you agree to get Soulkilled. Also, look at the logo positioning- it is facing away from the sun. There is artificial illumination of the logo, and the Secure your Soul ad is shrouded in darkness with small, red writing underneath.
An ending that poses as looking glamorous, but is dangerous on the inside.
Johny, while mostly red, has both a small blue dot on his arm- showing there is something more to him- and is facing more towards sunlight. To his right is a more naturally looking illuminated ad.
I think this is meant to show that Johny seems worse on the outside, but in fact is a good choice when you come down to it.
It's ironic how the Relic ad says 'Secure your soul'. Meanwhile, you will literally get hit by a thing called 'Soulkiller' which will delete your soul and replace you with bunch of zeros and ones.
RIP The real V, who dies in a well connected to Mikoshi by a cable. :'(
It’s an interesting conundrum. The engram that’s created from the disentanglement would technically be code, but that wouldn’t be true when reinserted back into V’s body. Memories that follow from that point, assuming V keeps their body, would be purely organic to their mind, not more 0’s and 1’s. I guess one might argue what the “soul” is, but if the entirety of V’s memories are intact, it’s hard to argue that there’s much of a difference at that point.
@@RobTheDoodler THAT.... is an interesting point id not yet considered. Been musing over the ramifications of what happens to V with soulkiller since playing the game and i've mostly sided with the idea that V as we know him/her dies the moment they connect to mikoshi.
But, as you say, if the engram's memories that reinhabit the organic part of the body (as we know it can, due to experiencing johnny's memories) are as real as any other, that is as close to being truly alive as i've seen anyone explain it so far.
It's not quite enough to have let me sleep soundly at night if i were faced with such a decision but it's better than nothing. Good shout.
@@RobTheDoodler Just to respond specifically to your point about being hard to argue, i think the issue of a soul is merely one of continuation. If I am effectively brain-dead, meanwhile a bunch of 1's and 0's zip through a cable, and then back into my empty cybernetic body at a later moment, I, as far as i can be aware, am dead and gone. A new instance of 'me' now inhabits my body. That's the part i see get alot of people to pause uncomfortably at the idea that V survives the game at all by the end.
But it's not your soul, just memory. Techicaly you will not fell sorry because of this, because you will have different memories.
As for Johny, he is long dead, only what is left his memmory save. 😂

If you got invested into the story, did every possible sidequest, and completley cleaned up the map prior to this moment, that talk between Johnny and V on that rooftop carries even more weight, because you are in fact getting to reflect and think of everything you did in this game up to this point...
Ppl complain that choices barely mattered in this game, but it's here where your choice carriest the ultimate weight, you went through the journey, you met all those characters, got close to them, and did it all in spite of having the clock ticking down against you, and it's now here, where based on your whole experience that you have to decide... How do you want this to end...?

I must confess that the Panam's final hit me hard. The Aldecaldos accepting me as part of family, and I being the reason why most of them die did hurt me alot

@@sephirothdomain1 In my first ending I let Johnny take the wheel, I couldn't risk Panam dying for me and it felt right to offer Johnny a final dig at Saka. Then in the final decision I thought he'd have grown enough to let V keep her body. What about you?

If there's one point in the game where I truly felt immersed it'd be when I got up to the roof and this music started. That was some deep shit on Bladerunner levels.

This soundtrack specifically is very beautifully made and embodies the conflict V and johnny must have felt at that moment, deciding their fates, the beginning of the end and the end of the beginning.. couldn’t possibly choose better music to represent this feeling

Kinda tough deciding which one of your friends is gonna have to die. Lucky for you, you’ve got this choom who’s already dead.
I remember my first playthrough. I was on this scene just enjoying the view, immersed in V's world and head to an extent. Everything Johnny said, ever since he and V spoke in Pacifica was spot on. This game knows how to make you think about your decision at the end. In my second playthrough, I went with Hanako's plan, and regret even wanting to see what it was. Johnny spoke more truth in our last meeting, but he ends it off with "Remember when Dex asked you if you'd want to die either living a quiet life, or in a blaze of glory? It's a damn shame you chose wrong.". I was shook
I just finished my first playthrough, and went with Hanako's plan. I loved fighting alongside Takemura and all that, but after that... you get to see how and why it is *the* bad ending. It's incredibly powerful though, it lets you see and experience how bad it is. With the way I had played V, it was relatively logical to choose this one : I never really trusted Johnny (and was too stubborn about that in the end), and Hanako's plan sounded like the less insane one, considering she had access and support in the tower. It was 'safer', but wrong, and you really get to understand that by the time you finish.
I know I'll play again and try some other endings, but honestly, in my mind I kinda want it to be cannon, as it's a complete tragedy and it's so powerful.
i did the hanako route because i thought theyd fix it then id get to blow up arasaka tower or something, or maybe hanako would be a better ruler, or maybe yorinobu, but then its revealed the treatment didnt work, youre on a spacestation so you cant just go on a last blind fit of rage, and saburo took over yorinobu with the relic, so it just went all wrong
@@nessa-parmentier if you do try the other endings, the aldecaldo ending is probably the best, also the secret ending 100% needs a guide if you want to get it
I was fully disturbed by how creepy this tone is when i first heard it. Felt like i was in limbo.
This music caught my attention the most, the decision you had to make, the relic ad in the back, Arasaka in the back, it was scary, sinister but soothing at the same time, I will never forget this soundtrack.

Love this theme
This game has a phenomenal soundtrack in general, but what they did for the endingwas just haunting. There's so much weight in this moment, so much tragedy and pain but also a glimmer of hope. The last chance for V to take matters into their own hands before time runs out.
Listening to this just puts you back on that roof as if it were the first time.
The ominous part of the game indeed... End of the line, the music definitely puts that into perspective
My friend and I sobbed for a solid 30 minutes at this ending. As the dialogue passed, as the credits rolled- every moment was filled with such emotion. This game meant so much to us, and seeing Johnny grow and evolve as a character was truly something I had never experienced before in a game.

Replaying this game right now, it can be so depressing
"I say you grab the hottest iron you can find, stride in the tower's front door." biggest rush in a game I've had in a long time. Forced to wait for 10 minutes to reflect on all you have done and knowing it's all over. Then offered something not on the menu: How about you and the terrorist kick in the front door and yell "HERE'S JOHNNY!" "It's gonna be Nova, trust me."
I like that the game is depressing.
After months of lockdown monotony, weirdly this game in all its darkness and depressing themes, made me feel alive again.

But the priest in the TV clip is right. It isn't a continuation of your life in any way that you can ever experience. The moment you upload, you die. That's it. Whatever gets stored on the computers is just a digital copy. Nothing more. That's the tragic slant of it all, it promises a lie.

If any kind of body altering procedure involves the ending of my consciousness, I am for all intents and purposes dead, whatever you 'create' out of my brain patterns digitally is nothing but a simulacrum of me. You cannot transfer someone's existence from one body to another without killing the original (at least with our current understanding of technology.)

Upon reflection I see what CDPR have done at this point, and if it was intentional, then it's genius. If it's a fluke then it's a brilliant one. But if you think about it, you've gone through so much hardship, crap, emotion, tenderness, love, revenge, and loss to reach a point where you will have to lose something precious to you regardless of your choice, or lose everything. The weight of that choice is immense, and if the suicide option is one you consider have you noticed how long it takes you to go through with it? It's brilliant in the fact it makes people actually stop and reconsider that ultimate option, and if they still go through with it they get to see all the pain and hurt that choice causes, as it does in reality. Genius.

Best ending is suicide run and then giving body to Johnny for 3 reason
first there will be no blood on their hands
Second V can live more than 6 months in unknown
Third Johnny can continue the life he couldn't have 50 years ago somewhere far from this cruel city
Johnny will never continue that life though. He gets very depressed because he believed V deserved a second chance while Johnny didn’t and now he has to live with the guilt that he “killed” another friend. It’s made worse that he has to constantly see V’s face that he now has and the Johnny from 2020 is long and gone. In the end, he never wanted V’s body. He just wanted V to have his/her second chance no matter how much time he/she has left. He also believed that while Alt has laid down what needed to be said, Johnny also believes Alt is talking out of her ass at the same time. The Relic should’ve killed V before they had a chance to assault Arasaka tower and yet they still were able to. With the right help that is not Arasaka, V could still survive considering the list of contacts he/she might find themselves with.
Really wish I could find a mix of this track that smoothly transitions into Rebel Path, just like in game when you decide to storm Arasaka with Johnny.

I have goosebumps from this soundtrack...
“Okay lost me realise the shit we’ve been through to get this far,to throw it all away now”
Well, you got arasaka over there.. the phrase "secure your soul" across from it, and the ad "Foreign Body" being a reference to the "foreign virus" laying dormant in your psyche, trying to overwrite you. You stop and ponder, "what do i do?" You have a gun right there, ready to take your life. On the other hand, you have Johnny pleading with you to get back at Arasaka with the help of rogue and Johnny's supposed "input". But wait! Someone who loves and cares for you is willing to offer her help along with the aldercados. All choices however, share the same con; their lives... You would think the least evil (albeit VERY CONSEQUENTIAL) is becoming a corpo slave to Arasaka and aid in apprehending an ungreatful son. You contemplate about 5 minutes but as soon as you reluctantly decide to take arasaka's offer, Johnny stops you and offers you a suicide mission to show his willingness and trust in you.
And with that, you're ready to wreak havoc! Just you, johnny and that malorian arms in your cold dead hand! No one dies but Arasaka, their underlings & that cyber jock, Smasher...

First is the obvious arasaka secure your soul, then it’s Johnny, and NightCity what you’re gonna leave behind
Favorite parts about this whole environment have to be the lit-up Arasaka sign, The "Secure your Soul" Ad, and the "Brain Wash" neon sign above the Ad.
Just love this because clearly, they thought this whole part out.
There's a throwback to this tune in the Phantom Liberty's final choice music "Never Looking Back". People commented that this tune is in Been Good To Know Ya but it's actually not (just some similar notes in a more complex cello melody), is it anywhere else in the game/soundtrack?

My first ending was the worst. I wanted V to be able to determine at least her own end.
This music reminds me of the Todd McFarlane’s Spawn Animated series ending music. After each episode a similar style of music will play.
I just started that series on HBO. Man that show is dark (in a good way)

i just have a love-hate relationship with this game, i love the setting, the world, the story, the characters, i mean everything; it just bothers me some of the mechanics of the game, like not having a third person view, or the few takedown animations. But the thing that kills me, is the let down launch state of the game, i played first day in my PC, it was .. something. I still love the game, but the bugs and glitches, i just feel sad that it killed a portion of its reputation, thank for the the Netflix series to rekindle the game.

Thank you! So regarding online tools, I really don't know of any. If you own a mac I use iMovie for all of these videos, it's nothing fancy but it's free and it gets the job done! Otherwise, I only know of programs that require a download.
I do have a big list of requests right now, and I am focusing on Cyberpunk while I'm still loving the game, but if you can't manage to make something yourself I could definitely see what I can do for you some time in the future?

This story was a fucking masterpiece and anyone that argues otherwise is dead-fucking-wrong.
The whole "decisions matter" is such a trite overblown pile of garbage complaint, no game has ever had decisions matter except for extremely specific projects (Undertale), and then when people find out the secret ending has some very specific decisions to get, they bitch about it.
Circa 1.52 when I bought the game, I have encountered almost no bugs. A few weird graphical hiccups here and there, but hardly anything that qualifies as "this is broken."
Every CRPG ever has had decisions matter lmao.

My ending was afterlife so V could become a legend. I am all about dreams and ambitions but I did this ending only with Johhny so Rogue and Soul are alive.
