So I bought and played this game for an insane amount of time yesterday. Here are my top 10 tips for you :-)
1. Fire your boat guys in the winter. They aren't producing anything and you are still paying them.
2. Fire carpentry guy if you aren't building anything.
3. Once you reach max nails you can produce in a smithy, fire your blacksmith until you need more.
4. If you buy iron, make sure you have smithy workers already hired. Make sure they will pick stuff up from wagons. That is how it is delivered. (I think it is the resources button on the smithy).
5. Farm workers pull from the fields into the farms. Marketplaces, Granaries, and Trade Posts workers pull from Farms to their work places.
6. Cowshed workers fill the hay dryers and hay sheds. As you now know, you need a cowshed before you have cows/bulls/oxen.
7. Leave one Farm worker hired during off seasons. They feed your oxen that pull the plough. Leave your manager. Fire everyone else once the harvest is in. Hire them back at planting season.
8. You have to have a manager to implement crop rotations. It is a good idea to leave a field fallow (nothing growing) for a season. It can be used by the cowshed for the cows in non-winter months. Rotate what field is fallow every year.
9. If you don't have a fallow field, you can go to your cowshed and make a pasture like you make a field with the farm.
10. When placing a farm or pasture land, you can rotate the entrance just like buildings by using R & T.
10.2 You should increase the amount of stuffs (wheat, potatoes, etc) that you have in your Trade Post so you have it to trade when the time comes. As far as I have seen, the villages don't change what they want so it is easy to tell what they desire. Store 20-50 of an item, send a guy out to sell your goods.

Bonus tips: You can't demolish a well. You can't demolish a farm with a plough. You'll probably eventually run out of iron and nails. Alpha games are Alpha after all ;-)

I absolutely love the path creation. The more people walk on the paths, the more defined they become. If people stop walking on them, grass grows back after a while. Absolutely love it
yeah right? The attention to detail made instantly fall in love with this game. The whole wage and wealth system is also great for having a living economy and making your town that much more believable and managable. It's like the advanced Ukrainian version of banished and I freaking love it!
you need to make three-field rotation with your fields. two seasons will be worked on field, the third season it should be fallow to recover its nutritions. three-field rotation means also: two fields are growing with different crops, one will be fallow. also: the field growing potatoes in year one should grow sunflower in year two, and so on. in times of fallow, cattle will help reactivate the fields. elsewhere youre going to get more and more poor harvest every year until the fields are completely dead.

You can plant pine trees from the decorations menu in the forest... just click them and then untick the “protected” status on each so that you don’t run out of trees for the forester.

As they say in Warcraft III: "BUILD MORE FARMS". And yes, the caps are necessary. Of course, you'll have to skip the plowing until you can get another plow, but the main purpose should be to provide employment for the villagers and the food produced there can be sold to the other towns.

Workers and Laborers mean basically the same thing in English. The interface is SO CONFUSING, but the little touches are so cute
- Create suburban area at the other side.
- More markets maybe help some family.
- Can you add another farm?

Such an organized and nice village,I just place stuff where ever haha
I don't bother with multiple crop rotation. My first farm is four fields, each 40 in size. Two are potato and two are fallow. Second farm is wheat, third farm sunflower, same configuration. You need to buy a bull with your cows! You need market stalls to sell food! I leave people working during the winter, otherwise they run out of money and once out of money they run out of food and firewood so they leave. You can make a ton of money selling sunflower oil ! To make dried fish you need salt, and to make hides you need bark, salt and lime.
So much fun to watch! Make more fields it will become the best food source!

I think the oxen thing is a bug in your favor. It looks like when your ordered the plow it assigned the oxen to it and kept them from dying until all the carts in the carpenters queue had been built.

You seem to have missed that the oxens that made up your plow were immediately struck from the inventory list of your cowshed after your first order (6C, 1B, 2 O) arrived, because the order for a plough was already up. So when you checked on the cows dying the last episode the oxen had already been counted out. It only took so incredibly long to actually finish the plough because you're running your settlement at like 10% the laborers you should have in comparison to workers. You keep seeing fishermen in winter and never kick them out. Meanwhile all your ressource transport is stalling like crazy. This is also why the cows died. In your laborer-starved economy, it takes a month for someone to pick up a bucket for some simple water :D At this point, you should be running at twice the housing compared to your vacancies. You've played Banished. You should know! :D

A "funny" story. My parent's house is the other side of a small field from a gypsy village of sorts. They have horses, for no good reason. They leave the horses, tied with a rope, to graze in the fields around their place. Including in summer. No water is provided. And the rope will keep them from reaching a tree or any other shadowed area. A neighbor, a bit soft in the head one at that, noticed, so he filled a barrel with water for them, at the edge of the field, and next to a small fenced vegetable garden he has there. Then he left for two weeks, and didn't think to tell anyone about the horse's water situation. So one died, in the middle of the summer. What'd the gypsies do? Use a building excavator to dig a grave in the field for the horse, perhaps twenty five meters from our houses. I called the police. By the time the police arrived, they had finished burying the horse, one leg sticking out from the ground. And the earth was obviously just turned over. I believe they where made to pay a fine and had another horse taken from them. I still remember the girl that took my call. She said something like "The, _let's call them horse undertakers,_ where are they" You could tell she was baffled.
You can plant new trees from the Decoration tab. Hold down shift to place faster and don't forget to select a tree and "unprotect" it so the Forestry is allowed tot chop them down. Also, fire your male workers at places where women can work, like the farm. Just fire them untill a woman takes the job.

A thing bugging me is the road system. It ruins the over all impression for me. I am not sure by the videos I have seen if I can also build roads myself instead of this automatic roading network. If not they should allow the gamer to do so and just make it faster for the people to use the roads. For me that would make the overall impression much better as I would have better control in building up the city. Other than that i looks like a solid game.

To be honest the way you did the fields is very ugly. I much prefered the older design. This looks really bad. But i do love the series so keep it up!

This games dev???I dont know about this guy???Asked him when he will be adding new buildings as it has been a while since releasing the game for $20 with no content update.He's answer was a blunt and I quote "Dunno yet" Nice answer form a dev.He doesn't know???at least give some sort of time line or let people who payed for this game know whats happening without blunt shitty answers to the people who payed and are supporting this game.Sorry dev but "Dunno yet" doesn't cut it for a reply.Updates far and few at the moment seen other indie game developers release updates faster then this.
