Always like the racing between you two. Looking great. I believe with the code zero you could have eeked out that win. All in all great passage. Looking forward to your Bermuda passage
There were recently two Alberg 35 footers on Ebay auction donations both with working diesels 1 in greater San Diego and 1 in Virginia (still up) going for very little money. View of the cabin with the heater on is comforting. Thanks.
Getting up at zero dark stupid- I almost spit my drink out at that one Kevin. That got a rec'd. 30 degrees? I don't think so. Ur warmer where you are now partner. RA plowing through those waves. She's a tough old girl. Very cool seeing you & Chris sail out of the harbor together. Enjoyed it.
Firstly, I am impressed with your strength to pass Nantucket and head for the vineyard. And then, I thought I saw Charis, and I was rewarded. The old slightly unfurled jib trick…. Loved that with a good chuckle. A few strings in there and you provided a fine end of the day escape. Thank you!
Like you we sail everywhere. This is one thing we have in common, sailing to Brazil was interesting. I will share my intelligence with you later, probably saving you a bunch of money.
@@howtosailoceans1423 Salvador is a long way from Mindelo, sailing at the right time of year (Jeanuary), possibly riding the NE trades through the doldrums. You only get 2 x 90 day visa, probably will not be here when you arrive. It is not like the Caribbean.
Vineyard Haven is a great place to drop hook. Been there many times. I’ve been set back into Vineyard Sound in Quicks a few times. Much slower on the bay side. Watch out for the Willi-Wahs.
Yeah, that current rips through Vineyard Sound. No shelter from an easterly though, unless you are inside the breakwall or go into the lagoon (or Tashmoo).
@howtosailoceans1423 Thanks! With my very limited sailing experience, motoring through the canal is just fine by me. I wouldn't want to maneuver a big heavy wooden ketch through there under sail even if it was allowed. Too much current, too narrow.
I can neither confirm nor deny that accusation. But i will say it was such a close finish that the brief engine use was necessary to prevent collision!
Gilmer and Alberg were both classically trained Naval Archtects - Annapolis and Gothenburg respectively. Both started with the concept of the North Sea hull - Atkins and Archer influenced. Both hardened the bilge turn and straightened the aft runs. Alberg went in for long overhangs to suit the CCA rule trends. Different above the waterline, but very similar below.
Two boat and it’s a race, it’s a given 😂

Yeah, in the beginning the Code 0 would probably have gotten me far enough ahead to ensure victory at the other end ...
Gotta give it to the alberg.. sleek boat that cuts through water even in the lightest conditions
Drone shots of the two boats are fantastic.
A painted boat on a painted sea.
Gary in Japan
Thanks for stopping by, Gary.
Beautiful lines on your boat. The Drone footage really shows off the beauty of the design.
the dualing boats were great and thanks for the maps showing your route. Wasn't ready for that one to end.
Nice music, Kevin, thanks...
Thanks John! I went with all home grown tracks for this one.
East Chop, Quicks Hole and Hadley all in one clip! Fantastic as always....thanks as always Kevin....
Thanks Tom. Ten days until the equinox ...
@howtosailoceans1423 can not wait my friend...email shortly
Beautiful sailing! Thanks for sharing your wonderful life with us.
“Zero Dark Stupid”
Priceless
Much Love and Hugs
I heard that one from a Canadian while I was in Nova Scotia. Knew I had to use it at some point.
Top sailors , making a great video. Thanks guys! Best regards from Jarle
Fun video! Love those short races…..thanks, Andrew

Sailing on, sailing fine...

Thanks for stopping by, Charlie, nice to hear that you enjoyed the music.
Safe travels- enjoy your time
Nothing better than sailing with your buddy!

Sounds good, Rauf! Very interested to hear your take on South America. Perhaps I'll catch up with you there ...

@@rainfingerAh, once again the travel visa issue. At least you get 6 months. Europe only gives you 3.
Who says you should put your boat away for winter!

That's some fine sailing. I think my first real cruise once ole Maverick is back in the water will be a circumnavigation of Cape Cod.
Sounds good! Fair winds, although you will have to motor through the Canal.

That Chris was doing a lot of cheating!😂
Lol. Maybe I should demand that a shaft lock be put in place before the next series of races ...
I can neither confirm nor deny that accusation. But i will say it was such a close finish that the brief engine use was necessary to prevent collision!
Looks like two Southern cross’s😊
Perfect pickup of mooring bout.

You want to portray this as huge work….dude you are retired.
4 months late with videos and you never sale the oceans. Your channel is becoming routine and boring.
I don’t see much on your channel. Show us how its done or shut your mouth.😘
