Extraordinary tales of your sailing adventures. Your determination to sail is enhanced by your lack of any viable mechanical alternative. I love how you call the motor (such as it is) Mr T! Always enjoy your videos. Sail well Sir!
Enjoyed the sailing to the mooring and riding out the storm portions of the video, also the explanation of your weather window decision making process. Great stuff. Fair winds.
A retiree in the Midwest that lives vicariously through your adventures. Your knowledge and planning are impressive. Dodged around the Great Lakes in earlier days in a 16' Wayfarer. Lovely boat. Always had the eye on a 32 Westsail until life got in the way. Fair winds!
Living on your cyber clock I am buckling up for the next one. Fair winds and following seas, with a sympathetic Gulf Stream! And fingers crossed for a philosopher episode on a sandbar in the future… no pressure I just loved that one.
The reason there is no solar panel on top of the hard dodger is that a flexible targeted alignment of the panel towards the sun makes charging much more efficient, so, no hard mount - right? This video is crystal clear, due to either updated camera or very clear weather. Thanks.
Hi Kevin- a little off topic… I’ve been wondering for a while about topsails and associated rigging. I’ve completed my reading of Leather’s “The Gaff Rig handbook “ but he didn’t go into much detail about the mechanics of setting and trimming topsails. I know you used to have one and was hoping you might find the time to make a tutorial video. Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge.
Yes I still have a topsail but do not have it rigged as it is quite a bit of hassle and the boat already does well in light airs, especially with the Code 0. You need a halyard, sheet, and a downhaul. Raise the topsail in the lee of the mainsail, then tension the downhaul. Then sheet it. The sheet has to go through a fairlead at the peak of the gaff and then another fairlead at the throat before leading down to the deck.
Time for some strong displeasure by the viewership on the T- Moble situation....unlimited I guess only means unlimited until they say so. That a hand written note is required stretches my sensibilities... How about Starlink? Wonderful as always Kevin, keeping it real.

Following for years.
Bravo for being a true sailor.
No motor!
Thanks mate, good to have you onboard.
Thanks for the weather planning. Truly adds significantly to the adventure.
I’m glad I found you. Now I know we can sail to Maine with a lot more conveniences. I feel spoiled.

Thank you for posting.. I've read your essays and I really like em, u have another coming soon?
Yes indeed, working on another article. Typically takes me about four months. I'd never make it as a weekly columnist ...

W32 is one of my favorites as well. Used to sail on Lake Michigan. The lakes have a certain charm.
Good video as always like your music selection of editing! 👍🏾
Handwritten letters... they just wants a new penpal..... have a safe journey, looking forward to watching it . Best regards from Jarle
Lol, well they didn't appreciate it apparently, as my request was denied, ended up buying a Digicel card in Bermuda.
Another great episode Kevin following from Australia Fair Winds mate !!
I was stationed there in the 80s - nice place - awesome video
Bermuda is awesome, though I wouldn't care to live there.

Ha! Cyber clock, I like that. I just visited the philosopher's sandbar a few weeks ago.

Correct, I am able to move them around to catch sun, or really, get them out of the shade of spars and sails.
HI - Thanks for all of your videos. Just wanted to point out that there no "s" in Hadley Harbor. Best of luck in all of your sailing adventures.
Ha! Indeed it is Hadley Harbor, had to check the chart on that.

Great job!
Thanks Rauf. I will be interested to hear of your experience with Brazil.
i love the insight of planning your trip. why haven't you gone for a starlink?
I keep going back and forth on Starlink. Mainly it's the cost that stops me.
Dear Big Network, I am not a Bot. Please send ones and zeros. Love Ruth A.
Damn your drinking water froze? Thats hardcore. My teeth start chattering in the 40s.
Yes, the jerry cans on deck did. Luckily the harbor water was still warm enough to prevent the water in my tanks from freezing.
About to depart from Galveston for east to west transatlantic
You mean west to east, to Europe? I was in Galveston years ago. Nice people but it's like sailing in a mud pit.
If the handwritten letter is in cursive, can any of the millennial T Mobile help read it?
Good question. My request was denied, btw.

Get a Calanx device for internet. $150 per year
If we chip in for more data, would that work?Probably fixed it by now.Happy sailings mate :)
Had to buy a Digicel SIM in Bermuda ...
I wonder what that is just off the starboard stern quarter at 0:11?
A winter stick to one of the moorings. They take the floats off late fall and put wooden posts on them.
A hand Edwardian script letter please!?
Yeah, and it didn't work either. Had to buy a local SIM in Bermuda.
