Like you said Billy, the Convent keeps revealing surprises. Please bid farewell to Rick for me, it will so strange not to see him anymore. You have the greatest smile Rick. I wish you and your family all the best.
The Covent is the gift that keeps on giving. I love the new discoveries that are found. Looking forward to next week and if there is something new under the staircase.
Yes please treat everyone to a new and improved jackhammer! Also I remember when Billy's boots were all nice and new, lol. What an amazing crew you have been blessed with, especially Papa Pethrick ❤🇨🇦
Billy, i love your filming, music and naration in addition to watching you work. And Ryan makes the perfect cameraman with you when your hands are busy working! Just like it used to be! I love it!
Wow Billy, really interesting. I totally love your Dad, he works as hard as all of you. Great find, I’m glad the archaeologist in you is wanting to discover . I hope you all rest. You and team have really worked very hard this week.
That camera work with the jackhammer sound throughout the convent is pure gold! 🤩 Plus digging for a secret basement under the stairs? Feeling like a true pirate! 🏴☠️
I love seeing the original construction coming back into the modern light of day! Maybe under the staircase where you last dug, they filled in the stairs going down with dirt. It may have been another entrance/exit to a different void underneath.
The Piece under the staircase = Magnificent …… The stone floor = Treasure …….. The staircase no longer hidden = Fabulous …… What a wonderful gift this team has been for the convent = unearthing the beauty of its original design
Agree on possibly of another set of stairs but also possible that flagstones were removed at some point to be used for repairs elsewhere as being underneath would not be seen as missing.
Hi Billy. Maybe under the stairs had been filled in with dirt. Try Jack hammering closer to the wall just before going under the stairs. If anything the steps would have started there or where the hollow sound under the stone. Happy hunting !
Ryan had me in tears with his cinematography when Billy was working away under the stairs. "It's bloody noisy from here...here...here...and still here too."
There is so much to do at the convent, I love seeing you all go methodically through room by room and unearthing the original building and making it new again.
Y'all work together like a well oiled machine! I just love seeing the progress that's being made. Billy, do the stair treads meet the wall or is the wall overlapping the treads?
That floor is going to be beautiful! The granite step at the base of the steps is gorgeous as well! I love the demo of this old building; there are so many layers to uncover. So many treasures being revealed😄❤️
I was thinking the same thing while watching! I grew up in Hamilton Township, NJ here is the USA. My dad wasn’t a carpenter by trade, he was a DIY guy to save money & learned as he went & learned from watching This Old House on tv! Watched my dad keep working for as long as he could around our home & always marveled at how strong he was at an advanced age. He taught me so much but had so much knowledge that I still wish I could get from him. He passed in December 2011. Such respect for you Mick! 😊
All the guys are saying TGIF!!! You have all worked very hard this week, and hope you give your bodies some well deserved rest. More to come next week! The floor and staircase are going to be stunning! Mike is amazing, and will be sad to see Rick go. Wishing him and his family the very best! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Love the floor reveal! Keep looking at the left wall, wondering if there is a matching stair rail on that side too. The stair looks like they extend under the wall.
As long as you don't run into a crypt below, you're doing well! You were going to leave the floor alone, remember? You just can't help yourself, can you? You're an explorer at heart. They could have tipped dirt in to close up the entrance into the basement. Is that possible?
Love the renovation of this convent gradually revealing hidden secrets as the demolition continues of removing all that concrete. Great team work Cracking On guys.
Great Fine Billy! That building is saying thank you! I Love watching you guys saving history. What a great team it's turning out beautiful! Can't wait for Mondays episode! out her in Doniphan, Missouri US
Seeing Billy choking on the dusty bannister made me think (after I'd stopped chuckling) that it'd be great to see some of the inevitable outtakes that must have occurred in the project.
You definitely need a bigger jack hammer. Maybe you can get a mini excavator to fit through the doors to help get the rumble out. Everyone is doing a great job. Can’t wait to see the results.
Billy needs to get a couple of volunteers to dig it out if they find steps. That way he won’t have to keep forking out wages and it will allow the others to get back to what they need to be doing.⛏️🙋🏼♂️🙋🏼♀️🪜
OK, you now have all of us on the edge of our seats until that floor is out and we know for certain what's under the staircase...😆 Keep going all of you, you're fantastic!
Great music again. I think you're a very knowledgeable young man Billy, and i think you are right about the stairs goung down. Don't forget there was some sort of soil/dirt on the previos floor. That is the quietest i've ever heard Ryan lol. Hope you take a break sometime over the weekend, everyone needs to recharge their batteries. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧
So great when you count down another layer of this beautiful building. It remains exciting! I wonder if Billy can wait until next week with a big jackhammer. A relaxing weekend and until next time! 👋🏽🇳🇱
The only thing I could think that "bannister" could be is support for the wall. If it was support for the wall, I wouldn't think it would slope off at the same angle as the steps though. I think you're in for a big find. Maybe it's that entrance to the tombs you spoke about before.
Thank you Billy for showing us under the stairs. Those boxes are cool too. It looks like a green felt lining in the open one. Please close it from the dust. I hope you find treasures when you dig up the steps that I'm sure you'll find. Great job guys.
More intrigue, more mystery! I wonder if it could be a servants entrance. In the UK there are examples of servant tunnels so food could be rushed from kitchen to the high table without using the main receptions and hall ways.
@@lat1419 the very early ones yes, but I doubt that a post counter reformation convent would have had the extravagance of hidden servants passages. Everything got stripped down, and the nuns were expected to do everything themselves.
Omg Billy I can't Express enough how beautiful everything is coming together what an amazing place. I don't understand why people cover beautiful natural Stone and Wood with concrete it's beyond me. It's so exciting how the secrets of the convent are being revealed step-by-step love it your so lucky .
When it is a practical, working building, you have to make it work, so possibly they needed a smooth, level ground floor, which was all on the same level more than an intact historic one. Just guessing
When you blew the dust off of the banister I almost choked on my lunch, had to rewind it and laugh again. Thank you for the laugh, it was much needed today. I am also very curious as to why they would have done the area under the stairs that way. The dirt makes me think they must have filled something in.
Seeing the real bottom step revealed is my favourite bit so far ....its just stunning. I'm so glad you go the extra mile to uncover every original feature of this building. Never seen graft like you lot x
What stories this building must have! If only the walls could talk! It would be so amazing if a nun from this convent could be found or if there was a record book of some kind, conveying the events of the convent. Billy, Mick, Rick, Yanis, you all are amazing! Absolute treasure to find the original stone floor. It’s all so exciting to watch wondering what the next find will be. Darling Mick not one to hear second hand what has been going on, he’s in the thick of it, love his heart. We will miss you Rick but wish you the very best of everything in the next adventure❤❤❤❤😉🥳👏👏👏🥂🥂
Thanks for another wonderful video - the staircase and floor are going to be amazing when finished and back to their former glory. I get exhausted watching you and your wonderful team working tirelessly to get the job done. Perhaps you could all wear one of those step counters to see just how many steps each of you take during the day - I bet it would be in the thousands.
i'm with you, billie. i think you are on to something right there, and it is necessary to keep going. what's the worst that could happen? you can always fill it back in again if there's nothing interesting to be found.
i always wondered If there was possibly another basement, as the one already in place by the kitchen does seem small for such a large overall building ? We wait and see.........!
Great to see ear defenderes being used. Here in Prague, the Roma do all the roadworks. Using those hammers, and sawing payments all day with zero ear or eye protection. Hearing loss is a one way street ( once it's damaged, it can't reset ). That flagstone floor will look tremendous !
You all kick butt with demo and clean up for sure ,. I got so excited on the last video when you uncovered the bit of the floor and the granite and today wow just excited for you .

I think he hit a hole there at the end but is holding out until the next video. It sure sounded like that jackhammer encountered no resistance.
its not that he hit a hole, the bit couldnt go any deeper. meaning it pushed through all the dirt it could and then was just bouncing in its own hole
