- Hand steering in sporty conditions. In this episode of Sailing Sitka, we sail from Ballandra to Escondido in 25-30 knots. Once we get there, we dive into two major breakages onboard Sitka... Thanks for watching!
I am amazed at the small spaces that Jay can wiggle himself into, I'm not flexible enough now to be able to do that. That part coming apart was probably "Sitka" just testing her crew to make sure they were still paying attention to her and her needs. Hope the summer of 2024 is good to you, and you are able to accomplish all that you need and want to.
Hi John!! Yes, boat yoga and jay are a crazy combo🤣 Thanks for the comment, happy you enjoyed this weeks creation!
Hello Jay & Kenna, Randy here. Wow Jay, your own doghouse ! And let's be honest about not filming......ya just don't want anyone to steal any of your Pirate language that you've worked to perfect during repairs ! Hell of a ride but always proud of you two for forging into a challenging sail; just be safe and clip in ! We don't want to lose either of you ! Happy sailing and thanks so much for sharing your adventures !
Love you channel! Keep up the good work. I’m part of the fellowship of dry folks. One day at a time. 35 knots is insane.
It sure was crazy! Luckily it was only for a few hours!! Thanks for watching 😄⛵️
Thank you Randy for always supporting our journey 👏🏻 Glad you enjoyed this weeks creation! More to come!
Kenna's look 6:37 and then the oh after Jay said we should of been clipped in, priceless, with that said I was thinking the same thing when I seen the sea state. Glad you're both safe and sound. :)
🤣🤣🤣
I'm commenting before I even watch the video, you two are my current favorite sailors and really enjoy your adventures! SO THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO! :)
WOW!!! What a comment! Thank you so much☺️

More to come!! Thank you very much 😄⛵️
Another great episode!!!!!! Little too sporty for momma Shine😮ummm let’s talk about the tongue 👅 shot lmao! I almost had to pause it because both Dad and I were giggling so hard. Then came the Kenna (WTH ) face and Jay’s excited face shot 😂😂😂😂😂! We love how Jay still gets excited when he sails ❤!!! Miss you guys ❤
🤣👏🏻❤️
Another great video! Thanks for sharing your journey. ❤
Thanks Tyler! Hope you and Shelia are doing well 😄 It was such a pleasure bumping into you guys this season!!
Good afternoon guys..
Two types of anchoring when we have winds from the bow that exceed 20 m/s and as long as there are NO mooring buoys.
1. Anchoring at Barba de Gato (Cat Beard) using 2 anchors separated between 20 and 40 meters, making an equilateral triangle and anchoring the chain and rope.
2. Make an elbow, anchor the anchor and a rope will emerge from it towards the stern making a 45⁰ triangle with respect to the anchor, the boat remains perpendicular to the wind and the rocking disappears.
Great video y'all!! I'm really starting to get into y'all's channel, great content and amazing camera footage 👍🇺🇸❤️
Awesome! Thank you! ⛵️
The art of cruising, is to survive with what you have and keep the boat going to your next port capable of repair... We all do Mcgiver fixes to keep ourselves floating and chewing up the miles...No shame in that... Very few yachts under 60 foot have a fully stocked hardware store on board... Robust sail none the less...
Couldn’t of said it better ourselves 👏🏻 Thanks for watching!
I got unsubscribed for some reason!!!???? 😅
Caught up lol
Guys still rocking it!
Wind and a good sea state!!! Kenna must have loved it?! 🤮
Stupid TH-cam 🤣 Welcome back!!! Lol
That is the plan!! To take the boat out of the water and repair the shaft seal properly! You are right, it is a very sensitive part of a sailboat.
You guys have such a lazy copilot.
🤣
Cool you know you’re gonna be messing with that stealing again!!! once mine happened, then twice that happened yes, third time was the charm!!!! Lol😅
🤣👏🏻 So true!!! Fixing boats in exotic places am I right!?
