    That brings back memories of my working life - I play the piano reaching ALCM when I was 16 - I hoped to play in public but I found early on that I had stage fright and just couldn`t cope with it so I trained as a piano tuner and worked for over 40 years. Over the years I made many musical friends I had great pleasure working on pianos of mall descriptions - The best part was to hear my customers play after I had done the work . To play the piano straight after tuning and listening to the "bloom" is wonderful

    Playing a freshly tuned piano is like gobbling biscuits fresh out of the oven. And that soft closing piano cover is sexy. Mr Barton’s Chopin is even sexier! From your no. 1 groupie ❤️!

    I have played many upright pianos and I am using a Yamaha’s YUS5 I am really happy with YUS5. My friend is a Importer of Feurich piano I played 122 models and it was so impressive for the price range sound was balance and specially bass I have experienced that was like unbelievable much better than many many baby baby grand and after some months I went to his place and tried the 133 model I was totally blown away mind blowing sound again specially super duper bass I have experienced from 133 much better than a baby grand piano the only thing is in my country they he is providing a only 5 years of warranty and Kawai/Yamaha and other brands are providing a 10 years warranty, It makes huge difference because I don’t know how this instrument reacts after 5 years. I have a question about this pianos life and stability is it can last like Yamaha and Kawai? It would be a great if you can answer question. I really love the 133 model. Only worries about the life of this piano. Thank you so much for making this video it’s a one of the best video for Feurich piano sound coming from this piano is unbelievable and really amazing playing. Thank you so much!

    Dear Mr. Paul Barton, thank you very much for sharing your video. I would like to say a special thank you for your excellent interpretation of the Chopin Etude op.10 if you close your eyes you might think you are playing on a grand piano. I would still have a little question, if your precious time allows. In the video you spoke of a time of the acclimatization of the grand piano. (You should always do it after transporting a piano) but are there differences to the dry season and rainy season or the humidity of your chosen country is very high compared to other countries. Are there any problems with the mechanics or the tuning of the instrument? Thanks in advance. stay safe and your family best regards, Mr. H

    • @PaulBartonPiano
      @PaulBartonPiano  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mr. H. My experience of the Thai climate is it's always extremely hot and humid, day and night, throughout the year. There's little fluctuation in temperature or humidity. It stays around 30/35 to 40C, humidity around 90%.
      At the moment we're in the rainy season. Tropical storms almost every day or night. The storms are relatively short lived, but violent in nature, with torrential rain, thunder and lightning.
      I've played FEURICH pianos for 10 years in Thailand. I've also had an upright 122 living outside for weeks at a time (wrapped up and insulated and placed in the shade when not in use, of course).
      I was told when I started recording for TH-cam, my piano would never survive the Thai climate either indoors and especially out. However, I found the reverse to be true. My 133 for example, has the best action of any piano I have ever played. It's always the same, never a surprise, always light and even. If I open the lid on the 133, take off the upper front board and fallboard, it does almost sound like a grand piano, but with the advantage of a lighter vertical rather than the heavier horizontal action of a grand. Gravity is a big issue in piano action design.
      The new 218 (sitting behind me as I type) has had several tunings recently. I was told it would take around 3 tunings before it settled down properly as the strings are new. They are nickel coated so won't rust in the humidity as the strings did on the previous model.
      So as far as my acoustic pianos are concerned in the extreme heat and humidity, the wood and moving parts all seem to be happy and working together as they should. And, on a personal note, the tropical heat in Thailand is quite soothing and relaxing for the hands.

      @Mr.H-Harmonica 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PaulBartonPiano First of all, I would like to thank you for your very detailed answer ... I hadn't even had the location of the mechanics in my mind (or rather materials felt, wood, metal strings) but of course that is also a big decisive point that makes sense to me. Please stay safe and your family keep it up, thank you, best regards, Mr. H
