Unbelievable trick! This really works! I struggled several hours but couldn't get the cover off and started to be desperate. Then I found this video and gave a try. First try and cover started to turn. Thank you very much for this great video!
Genius, I really didn't think this would work, but it did, along with a pair of rubber gloves and finally figuring out the right way to turn the cap. Tip on that front: turn a bottle or jar upside down and take the top off, that will show you the right way to twist the cap. It is (honestly) quite confusing when you are looking at it upside down.
Thank you so much for this video, I didn’t have masking tape and I was a little concerned it may not work with sellotape, as it’s a little shiny. Good news, it worked! You saved me from having to purchase the Bosch removal tool as well as the bulb!
I have the cap that comes with removing the light cover, which ive tried and has failed. I have also tried this tip, it failed. I tried a combonation of the tape then used the cap, it failed. I've tried heating the oven just for a little then letting it cool enough that i can safely go in and tried, it failed. I'm struggling does anyone have any other methods i can try?

This is a simple and effective tip. I was getting ready to wrench it off or take a mallet to it, as others suggest but this worked a treat.

Great tip, after trying with gloves would not shift. Then the application of the masking tape, hey Presto!

Oh yeah. After 2 hours of struggling it finally worked for me.:) I nearly broke my arm trying to move the cover. Happy days
