- Update 10/3/2019: I find that I don't use the tent much. The tent is only viable when the weather cooperates. We also hate taking it down if we want to take the truck for a short trip.

I purchased my DAC Explorer 2 tent in September of 2017. Until I purchase a travel trailer (my wife isn't quite ready yet), this is an easy and affordable way to go camping. The tent definitely expands the potential of my truck and camper shell. A much better choice than just a tent in many situations.
According to the company website, the DAC Explorer 2 converts your SUV; minivan, sport utility vehicle; truck with camper top, or cap, into a camper. I say it is affordable, weighs only 5 pounds and is easy to assemble. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions about this tent. Thanks for the video, I really think the folks that make these style of tents need to rethink the mosquito problem. Living in Minnesota (the land of Ten Thousand Lakes and Ten Trillion Mosquitoes)... This is a real concern.

I rarely use it. When I want to head to town or a trail ... I have to take the whole mess down. Works only in warm weather.
@@JMMGarza I'm mainly thinking about one of these for extra storage/dog room in my SUV when camping. I would have to make some modifications to make sure it's weatherproof as I live in the PNW and we get a ton of rain. My Montero has a twin bed in the back, so this would kind of be "overflow" space
@@seanwilliams5053 I spayed my DAC with water repellent. The tent adds about 18 inched in lenth to my bed.

I don’t know why they have to stuff those things in a bag two sizes too small
I have only used the DAC Explorer 2 ... once! I left hot Texas to camp in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. After one night I found it was better to discard the DAC and close up the camper shell for the night. If nights were in the cool 50s instead the fridged 30s, I would kept the DAC covering my tailgate.
