Thank you so much for all the videos you make! My son applied to Somerville, got reallocated to Christ Church for interview. Then he got an open offer underwritten by Worcester. He's now in his second year at Jesus. He jokes that "no-one really wanted me" but his admissions process was an object lesson in not getting too attached to any college. Of course he really likes Jesus and has met his tribe. And watching all your videos reassures me that he is in a good place!
Great! Thank you for your kind comment.
I think, I really shouldn't get my hopes up by watching so many videos about Oxford... xD :'(
So true...
That's what I thought as well and here I am with an offer for doing my graduate studies at Oxford - dream big my friend ;)
@@k.m.8190 Daim that's great man, what was your offer and for what subject, if you don't mind me asking
@@fionnmaccuill415 what did you study?
@@fionnmaccuill415 wow that's amazing. Great job
This is so detailed and comprehensive, thank you! Would be great if you could make a similar video re postgraduate colleges or at least specify what is the difference between graduate and postgraduate colleges. Many thanks again!
These videos are so helpful. Thank you for making everything so accessible and friendly.
Many thanks Tim!
Thank you so much, for your outstanding help in all regards and matters. It is so helpful and appreciated, I could not imagine going into my application process next year without having watched your videos on the university and admissions and applications process. Greetings from Somerset/Germany!
Thank you for your kind comment! And hello to you in Somerset/Germany!
Thanks a bunch. This is very helpful Sir
You are most welcome!
Is there a collage named Kebel
Really interesting. Maybe you could do one for the graduate colleges?
Thank you! I'm afraid I don't really know enough about the graduate colleges, but I'll try and find someone that does!
Thanks for the video, an amazing introduction to the colleges! I’m in the midst of applying to a biochemistry based DPhil at Oxford and wondered how colleges come into these kinds of postgraduate studies is there any more sources you could recommend?
Thank you! Colleges are a bit less important for postgrad students, as even more of their learning is concentrated in departments and faculties. For my doctorate, I had little formal tuition in my college (Wadham). But, some colleges have funding allocated for different postgraduate degrees, and some have specialisms that may be attractive.
For example, Green Templeton college has a biomedical sciences focus.

Why isn't there St Stephen's House Hall?
As an American who’s watched a lot of admissions material from OxBridge, I’m always struck by the degree of class insecurity that is assumed to exist among UK applicants.
Having attended an Ivy League college here (way back in the 1980s), which always do admit a fair number of kids from expensive US prep schools, and coming from a public high school myself, I felt no such intimidation toward my “posh” classmates.
Frankly, it’s sad to me that such an outdated and meaningless class consciousness still exists over there. In the US, 40 years ago, we really did assume that an individual can be whatever they want to be.
Although currently, the US left is trying its hardest to shove everyone back into the old intersectional categories, while the right is trying to fascistically dictate who qualifies as a “true” American.
Our Founding Fathers were right, that it was the individual who counts, and who is fully capable of determining his/her own character and destiny, if simply allowed to do so.
I applaud OxBridge for honoring each student’s individuality, and striving to provide them with the resources to realize their own unique potential.
Thanks for your comment. I agree that class consciousness is sad. I'm not sure it is entirely outdated here, however. Class does still offer a decent prediction for a range social outcomes.
Although all colleges teach all, is there usually a larger pool of people of one specific topic, do they often band subjects together if they can? thanks.
Some colleges will have larger numbers of students for particular subjects. And, across the University, there are higher numbers of students for more popular subjects than for less popular subjects. But, each subject deals with its admissions process independently of each other. They will nonetheless coordinate with the colleges to work out where there is more or less space available for students.
Incredible video. Beautiful presentation. Can international students (south east Asia) apply as mature student?
So sorry for the slow reply. Yes, anyone may apply as a mature student.
✨Much appreciated for this✨when you say the accommodations are mixed does that mean you have to also live in dorms with a mixed group?
No, sorry, you won't ever need to share a bedroom and colleges have single sex staircases/corridors.

Very beautiful place. 😊 Thank you . 😊

Can I go in Oxford in college. Can I do A Levels in Oxford colleges
No, Oxford offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees only. Not a-levels. All best wishes.
No All Souls College here?
It doesn't (typically) admit undergrads.
So beautiful
Really biased take haha
