    I am not old enough to experience this music first hand, but I love it! A wild, giddy, gaudy spree where the upbeat music influenced dance steps and fashions. Have you ever noticed how much the '20's resemble the 1970's? Think about it!

    Like good wine, this set improves with age. Been coming here for six years and it never fails to set my toes to tapping and lifts my spirits.

    I like to listen and compare Music, Songs, Voices, Rhythms and all type of Makeups of the Past, with the ones of the Present.
    Although the environment and equipment used are not comparable.
    (Electronics used on sound technics in our days).
    I must say, they were and still are, beautiful PLAYS.
    A BIG THANKS, to all the LOVELY PEOPLE, that made and makes this possible for us today.

    The version of "At Sundown" featured on this compilation is to my mind is perhaps the best ever recorded.

    Another super duper Harry Reser side. Thank you ! And it's on Vocalion. I don't see many in this electric series.

    Superb selection! All titles in hotted-up versions I never heard before. Contrary to @phredl I actually very much like Mysterious Mose. It has a very clever and ingenious arrangement. I know that most versions have more bells and whistles, but this version focuses more on the actual melody.

    I have listened and watched many of your offerings and am amazed at the way you have been able to remove what has been referred to as "ambience" (scratchies). How many records would you estimate arew in your collection?Plasticman acrylic

      +plasticman acrylic Thank you for the compliment. I am always working on my transfer technique all the time. My collection is probalbly around 5000 discs and grows by about 50 per month. I also post sides from another collector friends collection as well.

    I'd like the Varsity Drag and Mysterious Mose, did Ted Weems make a Mysterious Mose later on in the years.

    • @pax41
      @pax41  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Ted did record that song. I don't recall if I have that one or not. Glad you enjoyed this post and thank you for watching.

    I was born decades after this music was in style, but somehow the fact that this stuff has always been ear candy to me makes me seriously consider the idea of reincarnation. It's as though I remember... but I couldn't have... Could I?

  • @pax41
    @pax41  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know what you mean.

  • @phredl

    The Reser Brunswick version of Mysterious Mose is much hotter than this one and full of clammer and gongs. So much so that Stacks didn't have the time to do the vocal. Dick Robertson stepped in. I still like this one though.
