  • In this series, I assemble what I believe is the greatest team possible for each franchise. In this specific video, we're looking at the Miami Heat.
5 starters, 5 backups, and 3 rotations players. A total of 13 roster spots on each Ultimate Team. It's not just about talent, but it's about building a team that works and gels together.

The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!

As a Heat fan, Udonis Haslem not even being an Honourable mention is crazy Jonny. The rest of the list is great but any Heat fans know prime Haslem was much more of an effective player and winner than Whiteside. He’s also Miami’s all-time leader in rebounds, and I’d much rather have his much more versatile defence, far better midrange jumper and adaptability on the floor over Whiteside’s inflated shot blocking

    • @williamscobey6073

@@williamscobey6073 I watched Whiteside’s entire rise and fall. He was basically everything people accused Westbrook of being, but for blocks. He would routinely do things like leave assignments and not box out if it meant him maybe getting another block or 2. He was also just not a good defender as a whole especially in the pick n roll. Other NBA fans just see that Miami developed him into earning a nice contract and putting up some nice stats at his peak, Heat fans remember Spoelstra benching him in 4th quarters because of his awful IQ, lazy defence and terrible shot selection (because someone apparently told him one day he had a post fadeaway in his bag, and he believed them)

This team is stacked and quite a contrast to yesterday. I totally agree w/having Hardaway as the starting PG. He was incredible. I remember watching him and Zo and they were fun to watch and a great combo.
Great point about Shaq's passing too. That is def a part of his game that isn't discussed as much. It makes sense that he became a good passer, esp. given how he was double teamed a lot.
LeBron's 3 point shooting was great then too, if I remember correctly. The starting 5 is definitely one of the best and so hard to stop. It would be so fun to see a Wade and Hardaway backcourt also.
Excellent bench/ 2nd and 3rd unit also. A frontcourt of Zo and Adebayo would be intimidating and packed with scoring too (and their backups of Odom and Whiteside are good too). Butler and Allen would be amazing also.

Welcome to the Heat culture, the most successful expansion franchise of the professional big 4 sports, yeah, even the Vegas Golden Knights. Like Chicago, I feel this team having mostly defensive oriented players might hurt them when they really need to score, along with the fact that their 3-pointers are all on the bench, making Hardaway and Wade's offense predictable. Unlike Chicago though, I think Miami will have a deeper run in the postseason in spite of these flaws. Lebron, Shaq, Mourning, and Jimmy Butler are all 2-way versatile legends that can impact both sides of the court. Add in the fact that Lebron and Jimmy both have that dawg in them in critical moments, and this is a team that can make the conference finals if they get past Philly and/or Milwaukee to get a shot at Boston. However, 2005 Shaq was the only year for him that was really prime Shaq, and even then, he lost to the Pistons that year, so I would personally start Mourning over Shaq here, but I see where you're coming from. A similar case goes for me picking Rony Seikaly over Odom or Whiteside, but again, both of those two had good years in Miami.
But hey, those are just my thoughts. Keep up the good work, and now I'll see you for the Jazz. I'm not wrong now, right?

Shaq vs Zo is way harder than it seems. Both have an MVP runner up in Miami and Zo has a third place too, plus the two DPOYs. Could argue he fits way better with peak LeBron as well.

    • @joel8692
      @joel8692 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Nah man u gotta go with ZO because the Miami version of Shaq was averaging 20 points in 06 with avg defense and rebounding. ZO in his prime years as a HEAT also averaged 20 but he was definitely a better defender and rebounder than any version of Shaq let alone Miami Shaq.

When I think of Shaq, I tend to think Magic--Lakers--Heat in that order, although that doesn't exactly track with his accomplishments. If Shaq IS the starting center here, I'm taking Alonzo Mourning at PF even though I see him more as a Hornet. Tough one for me.

Another great video but two small disagreements: I would take Miami Zo over Miami Shaq, for their peak/longevity combo. And I feel like itnwould be a better fit, even though the Diesel will not like to come off the bench. Also, I would take Herro or Jones over Whiteside, who had great stats but not great impact and is useless in a team with already 4 legit centers way better than him. Herro or Jones would provide scoring off the bench, which is lacking.

As a Heat fan, this was very cool to watch. Thank you, thank you, thank you... For calling Alonzo Morning, Zo. It's cringy for me as a big fan of Zo to hear people giving the same nick name to lonzo ball who career wise is lengths behind Zo.
I love your list but the last two are debatable. Lamar Odom should be a honorable mention, and Hassan Whiteside was our consolation during a dry era of rebuilding, but he was just a stats chaser. Instead of him, a clear #12 in the roster is Anthony Mason. You missed him in the honorable mentions. He along with Brian Grant, eddie jones and caron butler gave us a fun team, but he was the heart of the team and the best performer when the weight was on eddie and brian grant to deliver. #13 instead of Lamar Odom, I think it's debatable between eddie jones and Tyler herro. Herro is very young and still getting better, and if he was a knick, he would have been to the all star game already and espn would be giving him praises non stop. Other honorable mentions should be Antwan Walker and of course: Udonis Haslem!!! Culture!!! 😅

I feel like Alonzo should start. Shaq had two good years in Miami compared to Alonzo's five, and in those five, Alonzo was arguably better: Alonzo (1995-96 to 1999-00) 21 pts, 10 rbs, 53.5% fg, 67.3% ft, 3.1 blks. Shaq (04-05 to 05-06) 21.6 pts, 9.9 rbs, 60.1% fg, 46.4% ft, 2.1 blks. Despite Shaq's higher fg% and the luxury of playing alongside D Wade, their TS% was the same (58%). Not to mention, Alonzo was a MUCH better defender.

@@OpaqueNihilist I'm guessing you're too young to have witnessed Alonzo's prime. He WAS the Heat, he made them relevant. He is 2nd all-time in scoring for the Heat (behind D Wade), 1st in blocks (more than doubles 2nd place), and 2nd in rebounds (behind Udonis).

This team is stacked. I'd project this team as a 5 seed but I could see them finishing as high as the 3 seed. Clearly the Celtics are the 1 seed and the Bulls are the 2 seed. I see the Bucks and 76ers as the 3 and 4 seeds. But this Heat is very complete. It has lots of scoring, several good defenders, several good rebounders, and some great outside shooters. This team could actually reach the Eastern Conference Finals, they are complete, they have outstanding depth, and they have guys with the clutch gene. The only team this Heat team definitely couldn't beat in the Ultimate Team Eastern Conference playoffs is the Celtics. I see this team finishing between 3 and 5 during the regular season, making it to the Eastern Conference Finals, and losing to the Celtics there.

@@joel8692 23 pts / 10 boards / 2.3 blocks is still insane. Just because he was better as a laker doesn't mean he wasn't nice especially giving that he was in the mvp race. But with a prime Lebron and wade as teammates as well he would've been a matchup problem due to the fact that those two would demand so much defensive attention.

I run the all time Heat more than any other team in 2k. If we’re going by position LeBron played the 4 a lot so imo a better starting 5 would be Tim Wade Jimmy Bron and it gives you an open option for the center historically the Heat’s strongest position and putting LeBron at the 4 also sures up the Heats weakest position that being the 4.
