So happy to see you! I literally visited your channel earlier today to see if you had posted anything! Then a notification pops up from you. ☺️ I hope you are doing well and that your summer is full of fun things.
Glad you are uploading again. For my second year teaching I will be switching districts and content areas (from 5th Grade Math to K-5 Music) I will be split between 2 schools so 2 classrooms. Trying to get all the classroom inspiration I can get!
Looks like a very similar classroom and school as Shelley from Early Edventures who I love! I was loved to second grade last year and will be staying so I am all about anything 2nd grade classroom setup and small groups/stations, organizing and planning!
@@reneealexanderthechampteac3218 2nd is the BEST! I’m hoping to get a lot of videos up at the beginning of the school year as well. So happy to have you here 🫶🏼
Hello! Enjoying you videos this summer :) Curious as to what behavior communication you use for parents. Last year I used a daily calendar with which the kids colored at the end of the day depending on their color on the flip card chart (green, yellow…). Do you use something to communicate daily with parents concerning behavior or just communicate with them on an as needed basis?
Love this!! So much inspiration. I’m thinking of entering the teaching field, elementary specifically. Would you recommend teaching?! I’ve heard so many horror stories!
I noticed that the West and Midwest schools get out pretty early in May. I’m on the East Coast and schools out this side get out of school in mid to late June. Staff goes back to school in mid August and school for kids start in late August. When do you guys go back in Cali? Y’all are lucky. 😊 I also love your set up behind your desk with your supplies and teacher toolbox. However, I’d be super cautious because students will think your area is a free for all area and they will tear your stuff up! Trust me.
All districts are different but this year our first day for staff is the 2nd week of August and kids come back the 3rd week. My district doesn’t have any breaks until Thanksgiving in November though and it’s so those first 15 weeks are brutal! I have a pink line of tape in front of my desk and kiddos know they can’t pass it so my area is off limits. It’s worked pretty well with the groups I’ve had the last 2 years 🤗
Very specific question, but how did you get your small secret stories? Did they come with the class kit or did you have to order them separately? I am getting them and i want to have the big posters and small ones to kinda show as flash cards
Yes! The small secret stories are the flash card pack. You can purchase them on the Secret Stories website. I bought the large posters for the wall and got the flashcards to use in small groups!
Which exactly are you looking for? All of the small group posters (fruit, animals, insects) are from Miss Jacob’s Little Learners on TPT. www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Miss-Jacobs-Little-Learners
Hi there! Yes equity sticks are a way to call on students at random. I never cold call on students if they don’t know an answer I mostly just use them to randomly pull a name or to pair students together. I number my students alphabetically by last name and they each get a number. Sticks are just a quick way to get students participating or paired up!
I only track books I’ve read aloud to my whole class! I just screenshot an image of the book from Google and put them all in a word document! Then print, laminate and cut. Whenever I get a new read aloud I make a little picture of it so we can always keep track!
I loved your entire classroom. It is well organized and thought out.
I always love your videos! Please keep them coming!
I check up on you every year. I see improvement and growth. Good Job!
Your classroom is awesome!

Oh wow! Best of luck! ❤
My favorite document cameras are the Ipevo V4K... I bought it during the pandemic and I love it.
Classroom motivation for sure. What do you think about including some diversity various people of different backgrounds?
Ahhh so excited to see you back on here 🎉🎉🎉
I LOVE your classroom! I think natural lighting is soothing.
Yes! ❤
I bought wire undercabinet baskets and slide under the tables... works perfect!

You have such a cute classroom. Do you have a link for your whole group chair?
Thanks so much! Yes! It’s linked in my Amazon storefront in my bio 🤗
They stuff things in the desks too.

Yes, this is it. Thank you!
What are "equity sticks" and is there a reason for the name? Thanks!

How do you make the tags for Books We've Read bulletin board?
