You had the door shut. A brilliant line in this episode from Sugar Bertie (Stan Butler). What a fantastic situation comedy on the buses was. I have all of seasons on dvd box set and the 3 fantastic films
There's hardly any people of colour on this show but who cares this man of colour loves to watch this classic British show because it's so halariouly funny.ON THE BUSES was the best.R.I.P to: REG VARNEY- 1917-2008 STEPHEN LEWIS-1934-2015 & BOB GRANT-1936-2003
Miss Woodall, who played the radio control women, was in real life married some years with Michael Bilton, who played a sollicitor in the Dad's Army episode Sons of the Sea and played between 1991-1992 Mr. Thorpe in Grace and Favour.
The bridge they used was between Hillingdon and Uxbridge on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. When this happens we have to suspend the train service while the bridge is inspected. We call it a 'Bridge Bash'. The Busman's code would of course never be used but it is a whole lot funnier than the Phonetic Alphabet.
Greetings Its a rainy night in Dallas,Tx US. And you tube carried me here after i just binged watch Are you been served? Dad's Army Are their any other fill good quip funny comedies you zany brits recomnend
Many moons ago , Barclay's Bank installed the first ATM in the UK, specifically in London. Reg Varney, who was a big name in the entertainment business at the time , was asked to be the first person to use it.
After so many years & living away from England for 31 years, I copied most of the "On the Buses" in colour & B & W. I am having fun to see these series & disappointed to know they don't live any more, other than Olive!!
Its Sad to say all cast members have past on as we know. Ann Karon the last member Its sad the circumstances she died, i love watching the series, Two all the cast members, R.I.P . God bless them all,
The good old day they made moor on the bus but they need moor like star on the show if we got someone today we miss all the good old star on the bus they made like they did .rip
One inaccuracy is Blakeys constant moaning of the bus always running late. There is nothing management can do about the late running as there is always a reason for it. It is however a company offence to run early. ( in my 35 years of experience)
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - I am sure Stan and his family were able to eat around the table at at least one of these meals per day, even when he was on shift work.
Because it was dinner time . Dinner time means it's time to eat and rest. It's called a break . I'm guessing your from another country which did not have a break. This is something legal I our country and I'm glad you have come and chose a better life . Your country will now be doomed as you all left . Glad you only thought about yourself and not your ancestors. Welcome and thanks
@Living-in Ibiza yes me and this yankee in uniform called charlie danced the foxtrot in this hotel in india i think it was november as well !! we had a whisky with a zulu and his papa who was ill and just had an xray and had to go to quebec for treatment he used to be an actor and had won an oscar !!!! afterwards me and a friend called mike played golf!!!!!
This is (almost) the same as the phonetic code used by the RAF during WW2. Some of the letters are different, never heard some of those codenames used before.
I love this program but I can’t help thinking abt the way the women were less paid and just exploited like they were sex mad, reminds me of the Jimmy saville situation
Yet men are treated as walking fucking wallets waiting for gold diggers to take is for all we got Not gonna lie to get fucked today is not free anymore probably cost like £1000 for a woman to strip off and another to sniff the pants and another to lick the pussy and another to get your dick inside the pants and so on it its stupid nowadays back then simple times now woman are stupid

Laurel & Hardy and On the buses is the greatest things iv watched
2024-1971-1931.Bet in 1971 people who watched On The Buses would remember Laurel and Hardy around the 1930s like it was only a day old.

STEPHEN LEWIS-1934-2015 & BOB GRANT-1936-2003
You mean Bob Grant.
That’s crazy to think that Reg Varney was that much older than Stephen Lewis in real life!
Ralfdof walker who was in an episode of on the buses and later on stared in love they neighbour
Couple of real 70,s stunners, and plenty of hair and all in the right places 👍😉
In the 70s, it would have been in the wrong places 😂
Miss Woodall, who played the radio control women, was in real life married some years with Michael Bilton, who played a sollicitor in the Dad's Army episode Sons of the Sea and played between 1991-1992 Mr. Thorpe in Grace and Favour.

I've always fancied mum's golden girl figurine on the back table! Anybody know what the name of this figurine?
It's hard to see but many women figurines for shelves etc usually might be Diana, Roman Goddess of Hunting. Mass produced at one point.
Whats your Height and Position? 5' 11" and 6" in the Cockpit !

I have done shift work. Going out and coming in at different times. How come they all manage to be round the table always eating together?
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - I am sure Stan and his family were able to eat around the table at at least one of these meals per day, even when he was on shift work.

Interesting to see the prior incarnation of Smiler from Last of the Summer Wine.
3:48 A Romeo and Oscar being married in 1970 was unthinkable. Nowadays saying that would probably be un-pc! Times have certainly changed.
And not for the better sadly!!!

Why didn’t Jack use the lower deck and Stan use the upper deck.? No imagination.
My favourite
But the passengers on the plane ✈ could certainly see Jack's teeth from 20,000 ft😁
I think they reuse the two way episode in the mutiny on the buses film
don't know why he just didn't put an AirTag in the cab
Mother's boy!!!!
Buses kool
Awesome
Did the cast and writers know Stephen Lewis was Gay? They make an awful lot of innuendo about him.
Yes I think she did

Why does a bloke in his 50s live with his mum ?
Why not? Shift work can ruin relationships. If he didn't I suppose the programme wouldn't work when they are all round the table
Buffalo 66 God bless :)

Buffalo 66 No worries
Buffalo 66 you too brother :)
I won't say anything abt this group. Did they make them scruffy looking on purpose?
That's the way most working class people looked like in the 1970s
Olive is hot.
fake
Cheep crap busdiens
This was shown in the Netherlands? LOL it's crap.
NPO the national broadcaster in the Netherlands bought in a lot of British sitcoms and dramas in the sixties, seventies and eighties. How can they call this comedy.
It should be called .
Program to make you sleep .
Go back to sleep ........under your rock ..
It's weird how this doesn't seem to be as funny today as it did at in the 70's. Maybe our expectations of comedy has moved on??
RiP Olive x
