This will remain with me.. every episode. My grandfather would chuckle as this played over the vhs. I didn’t understand it all, but I would understand enough to share laughter throughout. I challenge you to name another show that aloud a 7yo and a 70yo to bond like this. I miss his laughter dearly. All my love to all that hold the same nostalgia x
Love the opening song. It has a calming affect on me. I suffer from a mental illness it's a blessing to have dads army on you tube it helps me feel better.
John Laurie is brilliant in every episode. Foreboding and suspenseful with that amazing Scottish accent. I imagine he would have been great to have a drink with.
De confrontaties tussen kapitein Mainwaring en sergeant Wilson, prachtig ! Grote voeten, dus grote neus...... Ook dit was een serie die alleen Britten kunnen maken.
I watch Dad's Army every night now. Always cheers me up no matter what happens. It worries me that no one seems to be able to write these shows anymore. In the last ten years I've gotten a few laughs from the Big Bang Theory but that's it. Over here we've got The Goldbergs, Blackish, Last man standing.. All junk. I never laugh. Can't hold a candle to this. As usual I discover these British shows years after almost everyone is dead. Thank God for video recording!
I consider this work to be one of the masterpieces that we will not hope to see .. It is timeless and distinctive in our memories .. I am now 42 years old and when I feel uncomfortable and wanting to laugh I watch this distinguished work and then I do not stop laughing
Zo mooi. Ik geniet met volle teugen. Als kind keek ik naar deze serie. Mijn vader had altijd veel lol met deze mannen. Als ik dit weer zie, moet ik altijd weer aan hem denken. Bedankt voor het uploaden
@@arbjful No, the "Indian Empire" was the formal term for the relationship between England and India, one of the monarch's title was "emperor of India" not emperor of the British
+Nomoredrama2000 The innuendos in these old British comedies are so fun. Don't get such subtle jokes in modern comedies. Except somewhat in Steven Universe. I like my South Park too but most modern shows don't know how to use such ultra crude humor as well.
Mainwaring you’ll have to stop the German invasion by yourself, the rest of the platoon has broken toes and feet from kicking the the football and walking on the rocks.
Different to see the platoon playing football. And the challenge of the usual 6 men walking on rough ground in their white singlets. Order from left to right: Jones, Wilson, Godfrey, Walker, Pike, and Frazer. I also liked when Godfrey kept drinking more and more water at the shoe shop
H ha! Sadam Hussain made the Iraqi football team play football with a concrete ball as a punishment after their terrible performance in the world cup...

I remember watching this show for the first time with my grandmother.
Many years ago. I love it still to this day.

Dad,s Army pleases a great deal of people and if it helps you to feel better then it’s just another hi lite of the show. Get better soon 😃
yes Bianca it does have a calming effect-I never tire of these gems..hope you are managing love-it can't be easy?
5:03 The look that Arthur Lowe gives, a slight lean back, a tilt of the head and peering. He was a master at that. A genius.
Yes a great physical comedian
Dad's Army has gotten me through some very dark days...simply excellent 😂
Mrs Pike has to be favourite for best supporting
John Laurie is brilliant in every episode. Foreboding and suspenseful with that amazing Scottish accent. I imagine he would have been great to have a drink with.
My favorite was always Jones. Loved him!!!
De confrontaties tussen kapitein Mainwaring en sergeant Wilson, prachtig !

try "Are You Being Served?" for a nice feel good factor.

I love Godfrey's absolutely gigantic shorts!
Godfrey is adorable.
Don't be insolent! Poor old fella.
2 shows I can watch over and over and over, The Odd Couple, and Dads Army. I LOVE this show!! Thanks
I love Jones. I think he's the funniest

13:07 Jones expression 😂
I love this show i discovered it a few months ago.
Sincerely a man from america who is a military history nut
I love this so much, it's alot better than these modern shows😍
+Rebekka Caffyn , and all others, plz enjoy us on our page Dad's Army Facebook Appreciation Page ... everyday a lots of fun !
This was made when many British people still had an association with the Indian empire. “Sundar Pair” means “beautiful feet” in Hindustani/Hindi/Urdu
You mean the British Empire...
@@arbjful No, the "Indian Empire" was the formal term for the relationship between England and India, one of the monarch's title was "emperor of India" not emperor of the British
@@vkeshav3519 India never had an "empire".....
Begin jaren tachtig keken mijn ouders ook naar deze serie .nog in zwart wit wat hebben we toen toch gelachen vooral mijn vader.
I always remember that comment from Pike "kitchen water not bathroom water", living in 1970s Scotland, I agree, it tasted different.
arthur lowe was one of the greatest actor of all time he put a smile on peoples faces all over the world.
i am only seven n love dads army so good
Great to hear Sadie ! thank you... I have put more as you saw maybe... : ) )
Thanks
Godfrey and all that water IS dancing with death. 😂
Lol @
"last but not least"
" and the little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home"
Bedankt voor het uploaden van al deze afleveringen!
thanks for the upload, I'm gonna have binge watch this now
I couldn't agree more.
Brilliant acting
Specifically Arthur Lowe as Captain Manering.
At the end of every scene, I love the old songs coming on.
I bet that Jones would volunteer to be in front of a firing squad...
They are in there for a long walk this time for sure .
All those feet must pong after all that marching though
If this were high school Walker would be the class clown.
25:40 - Ok, that surprised no one
"You show me yours, I'll show you mine." LMAO

I like my South Park too but most modern shows don't know how to use such ultra crude humor as well.
Captain Mainwaring is always fair-minded even though he is the leader and has to tolerate a lot of buffoonery. Really like this series.
Yurrr dicin wi death fillin the man up like this!😂😂
Actually Walker would already have a supply of boots.
I'm a fan but too many episodes, like this one, end prematurely.
"you show me yours I'll show you mine " 😧
Mainwaring you’ll have to stop the German invasion by yourself, the rest of the platoon has broken toes and feet from kicking the the football and walking on the rocks.
...at 01:30, Captain Mainwaring shows what a good foot should be...rank, the sign reads...
Note to self, watched it 1/15/18.
The shoe store owner should go into Jones meat market and make a mess of his meats, then go to the bank and make a mess.
I enjoy puppet plays.
Feet run in the family eh. Its noses in my family
What? do they put in the front of Wilson's tunic? Just above the waist line?
Different to see the platoon playing football. And the challenge of the usual 6 men walking on rough ground in their white singlets. Order from left to right: Jones, Wilson, Godfrey, Walker, Pike, and Frazer. I also liked when Godfrey kept drinking more and more water at the shoe shop
behind the scenes: Ian at first refused to exposed his barefeet, but the director forced him to do that saying he has Hot ones, so he submitted
Yea The Director has a foot fetish! And he purposedly gave closeups to Ian's soles
We didnt need the third pair of boots for the joke, did we ? There was a double swap and wilson and pike could have had the right size?
Jones could make more of a mess than a bull in a china shop.
Not bad ⚡️
Why the beach.....doesn’t salt water make ya feet soft???
Beaches in England have pebbles rather than sand...
Natalie porter I don't know where you heard or who told you that, but there are very many sandy beaches on the island of Great Britain's coast.

Good show 😀😅😀😄😃😅😅🤣🤣🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I wonder how many broken toes they had after kicking leather football, and running on rocky beach. Mainwaring is a Quack.
H ha! Sadam Hussain made the Iraqi football team play football with a concrete ball as a punishment after their terrible performance in the world cup...
I'm not quite sure that you're understanding that this is a comedy . . .
Classic🖤💛❤️🇦🇺😅😂
36 Shillings for a pair of boots. How much in American money was that back in 1940?
36 shillings.. 1 pound 16 shillings.. In new money 1 pound 80 pence. Worth 70 pounds today, or 100 USD.. Was a lot of money back then.
They said 1 lb. was worth $4.20 in 1940 thru 1950. So 36 shillings was worth around $7.00 . Still expensive in 1940.
@@kennethczajkowski8793 you've got the wrong abbreviation for pounds there. lb is weight, not currency. you're wanting GBP
He's going to kill Godfrey.
This episode is for all those foot fetishists out there.
u r one of them
10:38 :)
Big Feet, Big Nose.........
.
Happy feet 👣 😁
Hwen that pompous, obnoxious fool fell in the hole int he sand lol
S
They always referred to the Germans as Nazis in the series. Even back then there was political correctness.
LOL.They were Nazi back then.
Mannering is the G.O.A.T.... Wilson a drunken layabout and Pike was getting some comforting hands on loving from his mother...
