    Just found your channel and binge watching your episodes :) You are all doing incredible!! I have renovated houses in France, the last one had no water, electric, bathroom or even a toilet so I know how hard it is! I have been thinking about Bulgaria for a while and not been brave enough... yet. You are all really inspirational and I hope you are loving life x

    Hi there! A Bulgarian here. We're watching with keen interest. We'd never do something like that but it's fun seeing how you and others come and buy these old houses and try to save them. The house would likely be beyond saving, a good inspection would tell you more. The garage has to be dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick, roof and all. It's scary even thinking how much work that will be. I really hope you'd be able to salvage the house but I'm not sure if it will be worth renovating or just rebuilding from scratch after demolition. Best of luck and wishing you the best! Let me know if you need any advice or help with anything . :)

      Thanks for commenting and following our journey so far. We think sometimes, these old houses just need people to love them again. Someone loved them before us, and if you can put that back into the buildings and the land, the land and house will give back to you 10 times over ❤️. We've got a lot more to show everyone! So keep following as we have so much content recored. Episode 9 coming out within the next week 😀.

      @@frombournemouthtobulgaria Good to hear. After stripping down the walls until you see the bricks, if the foundation and the walls that carry the weight are in good shape, you could restore the house. The roof will also be a challenge. Do you plan to do everything yourself or you'll hire local builders to do it?

    I had a lot of fun watching your journey getting to Bulgaria, especially those border crossings! I hope you'll keep uploading even if it takes a while to grow your channel. You're doing what a lot of us would like to be doing, getting back to nature and helping to preserve some of these old villages at the same time.

      Hey Katherine, thanks so much for your follow, and also for your kind comment. We won't stop making content, we have every intention on continuing for a long time, we probably have enough content already for the next upcoming year stored and ready for editing. Seeing this house come back to life in this village is really quite humbling, exciting and the villagers love to see it too. It's been a great experience so far. We hope you keep following our journey ❤️

    Yep, you are in wine country. People used to do their own wine and had a big barel of wine. There are reports of travelers from the 16th and 17th century passing through Bulgaria talking about it.
    Also, you are in rakia country 😈. Anyway, Bulgarians love their drink with a big lunch or dinner.
    Oh and btw, the sun in Bulgaria is harsh. Cover yourselves or put a few liters of protection creams on between May and October 😉

      We've searched high and low for more treasures! But we were hoping to find a shot gun, it looks like someone sold them as the house was passed over to grandchildren when the previous owners passed. Where abouts are you based here fella?

    • @3swxfcewzn724
      @3swxfcewzn724 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@frombournemouthtobulgaria sadly, even if you do find one, it's not a good idea to show it..
      If the gun is a model from before the 1900's, you could own it with no big trouble. If the gun is newer, I'd suggest you not showing it and keeping it hidden. 😉
      If however you get worried about wild animals in the area and know your neighbours, you could more easily get a licensed gun for self protection. Not sure about your residence tho..
      I would suggest buying a new pre 1900 model long gun and keeping it somewhere just in case. If you find some black powder (not exactly legal without a reason and approval from the authorities [KOS]), you are set 🙃

      @@3swxfcewzn724 It's crazy that in rural areas like this people are discouraged from owning rifles and shotguns. Do you have bears and wolves in your rural areas? Where I live we are overrun with coyotes.

    • @3swxfcewzn724
      @3swxfcewzn724 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LadyIarConnacht Totally agree.
      I am not a 100% sure, but I think that if you live in a rural area or in the mountainous regions, it would be easier to legally obtain a self defence license and buy a pistol, as you would "have a valid reason" to possess and carry a firearm. But, if you are going through that trouble, why not get a hunting license instead, as you would have access to long firearms, bigger calibers and would be able to hunt with a hunting ticket and your buddies.
      Its a long a troublesome topic in most of Europe. I do see the need for regulations, but I also think that in Europe nonetheless, there are countries with good enough laws to allow a person to buy, possess, transport and use a gun without feeling like a criminal...
