In this episode, we have some unexpected company leaving us with a huge decision to make. We also get a move on with some additional renovating on our grim shower room. And as winter approaches, it's time to start preparing!

Good job tiling the shower floor, it makes such a difference. Having a go at stuff you haven't done before is a required attitude here in Bulgaria and doesn't it feel good when it all works out? Great video (as ever)

I once stripped and renovated a bathroom into a wet room with absolutely no experience and only youtube for guidance. Thoroughly entertaining, frustrating and finally satisfying job. I know exactly how you would have felt.
@JunkToGem I have joined the club, haha! You have to try these things regardless of whether they go right or wrong. Back was killing by the end, but I'd not long ago been down a 3 meter hole building a septic tank 😅🤣

Jordan really struggled with the whole situation, especially when her bulgarian isn't so good. At the time, I (Lewis) wasn't here, if I had been.... corrrrr. He'd have known about it.

I think you guys are doing great! You need to make sure that at least a couple of rooms will be completely weather proof before the winter and I'd move some of the wood closer to the main building too! 100% agree and we made sure that's happened although, we endured our first winter with single pane windows, that was an experience.

Hi mate, were loving the channel,,when your repairing internal walls like the shower ,fair enough using concrete to fill up large holes but leave it shallow .get a few bags of top coat plaster ,brushj on pva glue mixed with a little warer first then apply plaster , get ir as flush as you can with your trowel then wait till it starts drying. Several hours hrs depending on temperature, keep touching the surface,,when it feels firm but ypi can still make an impression on it ? Go back over with trowe &l push hard as you sweep over it keeping the front edge of the trowel 5 / 10 mm raised up as you sweep across, once you've done it a few times it gets easier ! Im now a pro just had a go and i can do it good enough to paint / invisible mend ,, good luck guys! ❤

Appreciate it mate. Honestly mate, the kids are the most difficult part of all of this. I don't think people truly realise how difficult a renovation is with children. Wouldn't change it for the world, but Jesus christ, some days....... need a break, just some time with the wife would be bliss 😂😅

It's very common here 😪. But hey, we were here to save the ones we could and that's all that matters.
I have considered moving to Bulgaria, but I am an animal lover and I already have 9 dogs and 5 cats. It would break my heart and as a foreigner the Bulgarians know you're not going to dump the animals, so you're an easy target.

Just wanted to mention that stockpiling wood for the winter is vital, especially if your neighbor is stressing it. Right now what you are showing on camera, isn’t nearly enough to be the primary heat source for the entire winter. If you already have this figured out great! If not please look into this further.

We'll see how long it lasts 🤣. Lesson learned if it lasts 5 years, I'll be happy because knowing the wife, she'll change it all by then. If it doesn't, then I'll have learned I've done it wrong.

Hey, we have tried making a video every 2 weeks in recent months, we were successful with this for about 8 weeks, bringing out 4 episodes. But, boy, it's hard with a baby, a job, a renovation and to make time for social media advertising too. You have to just do what you can until we can afford to pay someone to edit for us.

Loving the series ive been binge watching it so far. Proper inspirational really making me want to do something similar if I’m ever in the position to do it. Just out of interest how are you planning on earning money in the future? I would imagine it’ll be tricky in Bulgaria?? Also sanding down concrete isn’t a good idea without a mask on. Silica dust will cause your lungs serious problems. Really should have a mask on even if your just sweeping a dusty room!

Leo is due to start school in September. So hopefully not too long now. There's a town 10km away and that's where he'll go.

Hey Peter, glad you've been watching us! We're very grateful 🙏. As for "is it easy" to be honest none of it easy, it's a real challenge. If you mean can anyone just buy a house, yeah I don't think that's really a bug concern, I think the biggest issue is, can you buy a house and get residency. If you haven't looked into residency yet, that's where I would start tunnelling down. Because that's a really difficult area "post brexit".
Yeah that's what I wanted to know really about visas and residency, we was considering Turkey, Spain and Greece but Bulgaria gets more bang for your buck, will have to do some research on it all.

We managed to re home most of them and kept the mum dog and 1 pup. As the next episodes emerge you'll see what ended up happening. We had a lot of problems and issues. But everything mostly turned out OK in the end. Thanks for commenting ❤️
It can get cold, negative 20. Plenty of snow depending on where you are living.

Hey, yes it's back dated from 2023. It's not from this year. We did a lot of filming 🎥 but editing was not a high-priority when we were trying to move into the house from the caravan. We're in a much better place to edit now so that why we're getting more done 😊

What would you recommend to a family moving early next year?
Corrr....ummm. It will be hard, stick together! If you don't have very young children it'll be a lot easier, if you do god speed lol. Be prepared for things to not be as cheap as you probably imagined in terms of groceries, materials etc. Get to know your neighbors, work hard with learning the language, the neighbors make your life easier if you become part of the community. Biggest issue is always income for. Finding work here is tough! Really tough. UK income is best if you have that coming in, that's great and almost essential. Savings do not last long here! Especially when you're renovating. Good luck to you, and drop us a message whenever you need advice.

we are renovating. im dragging my father over with us for the first few weeks. hes a retired builder. hes going to be making a couple of rooms doable (thats the plan anyway). then work on getting the animals over. that scares the life out of me. horses on a 27 hour drive!
my little tornado is used to rough it. we live in a farm. so shes used to being dragged from feeding sheep to pigs etc haha. she loves it. beong outside and making everything take 5 times longer :)

My mother started with one dog now she’s got 12 dogs all rescued. All the best for you and your family.
Wow! Thank ever so much ❤️. A lot happened with the dogs, the ended up getting Parvo virus. That's was really quite distressing. We managed to save all but one of them unfortunately. Not many vets wanted to help save them, but we found someone. It was quite an experience and stressful situation. Jordan did create a tiktok page called dumped on the doorstep if you wanted to check out the full story on them

I enjoy your videos but it would be better if you showed more of you actually doing the job rather than over explaining it for long periods
Yeah, that's a tough one because we've had people say we show too much of doing a job and need to speed it up. So you can't win whatever you do. You just have to take on board what you can and just keep improving. At the end of the day, we're just people who picked up a laptop and put together videos with no experience. We're not TV editors 😊
