- Commitments in December meant I needed to be closer to home so I looked to parkrun goals I could still work on. I decided to work on increasing my p-index to 13 with my 13th run at Pontefract parkrun.
I love this parkrun having been here sporadically over the last decade and having run at their 3rd event back in 2011. We were so lucky to run on such a beautiful morning and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces from back in the day! I was a fan of the new out-and-back alternative course and had a wonderful parkrun here with such an amazing team and parkrunners.
Don't leave without a visit to Huggamug as this café is simply brilliant!

Hi Nicola, really enjoy watching your content, don't ever stop, your point around 8 minutes about running for your mental health is 100% bang on. Mostly why I run, this sport keeps me sane. Wishing you a lovely Christmas. Take care.
Thank you, yes I do all of my mental processing while I run so it's super important for my mental health 🤗 I hope you have a lovely Christmas too 😃🎄🎁🎅🏻🌟
Hi Nicola, it really looks like a beautiful Spot to run. Specially when the Sun is shining on a day like this.
It definitely is and a great team there too! 😃
Happy Christmas from Ireland. Thank you for sharing your parkrun videos. I really enjoy watching them.
Thank you so much Margaret and Merry Christmas to you too 🎄🌟🎅🏼☃️
Always feels like a win when an opportunity arises to soak up a blast of sunshine in the depths of winter.
Exactly this! It feels such a treat doesn't it?! 😃

Merry Christmas, Nicola and Poppy! I’m just checking the forecast for Christmas morning here in OZ. A minimum of 20°C overnight, heading to a max of 37°C. It will be about 25°C for 8am parkrun. Ideal for the middle of summer.
Oh my goodness! I was thinking it's a warm 8 degrees here 🤣 Hope you're having a wonderful Christmas... It's already arrived for you guys! 😃🎅🏻🌟🎁🎄

@@NicolaRuns did Stainland 5k fun run today and got a new PB of 20 mins 11 secs been 1 min faster then old PB
@MichaelTinker-dt1rp wow! That's brilliant!
Ar Huddersfield this morning for Mario cart park run I still watch that one you filmed at Huddersfield it is so funny 😄
@@NicolaRuns o I had the best park run at Huddersfield got a new PB of 21 minutes and not only that at the start I was given a surprise of my little cousin appearing right in front of me with her father she is 14 she got 30 mins and did what poppy does with you shoots of in front to the finish been a bit overwhelmed tonight as she lives in Australia after meeting up again for 4 hours 😀
Wow, I learned another English thing. I've never heard of a chip butty before. I don't think I've ever seen them here in the US. I love French fries so what a treat that would be. Also, does the cafe do any business when the ParkRun isn't there? Just curious. As always cool content and I love seeing and learning what your running scene is like. Merry Christmas to you and Poppy.
Merry Christmas! Yes the racecourse always has people walking around it and there's a playground and the lake but the cafe is its busiest after parkrun! Oh my goodness you have to try a chip butty! I'm excited for you! They're delicious 😋
That is insane chip butty, bet you didn't eat all those chips( enough for three!)
I almost did but alas I was defeated. I gave it a bloody good go though! 💪🏻
Hi Nicola interesting to hear about your bulging disc. My wife has the same problem and is in agony a lot of the time, would be interested to know if you are having any treatment for it and if it works. Keep on running👍
Sorry to hear that. I've seen a chiropractor which didn't help at all... Just cost a lot of money! It's the same at the moment although the spinal clinic have given me specific exercises to do so I'm hopeful they'll help! It's a bit of a waiting game and just trying to stay active in the meantime while not exacerbating it. It's a bit of a nightmare TBH! If your wife finds a fix then please do let me know! 🤞🏼
@ Thanks Nicola, will let you know how she goes on, hope you get through it, cheers.
I wrote the story for Peter Peregrine ❤️
No way! I love the trail and all of those beautiful sculptures! The story has made going around the racecourse so much more fun! Thank you 🤗
