One thing I always find interesting in these I left CA videos is that nobody ever talks about how people are gonna make a living when they move. I'm in vegas 4 to 6 times a year and it's very disheartening to see people in their 60s and 70s waiting tables and cleaning after the idiots that pass thru and disrespect them. Thank you for the content.
Waiting tables and the service industry are great places to make quick money in vegas while getting on your feet. We are committed to making this city a great place to live. How do we solve this problem and connect skilled individuals to the right jobs quicker?
@@cuti-k9s there is no arguing that!! data shows that the younger the age demographic the less they gamble. who do you most typically see at the a slot machines in any casino outside of the strip (at the local spots)?
I moved to Las Vegas in 2015 from Southern California. At the time I was single and rented a 1 BR/BA apartment in a nice gated apartment property in Spring Valley for $725/month. I recently had a family friend moving to Vegas inquire about a 1BR/BA at that property at the beginning of 2024. It was $1200/month 😳 Unless the local market offers the same wage earning jobs, how is a Vegas local or someone/family who has lived in town awhile suddenly afford that.?
@@juanmachado1844 Yes, a lot has changed, not just in the last 10 years but the last 4 years alone! I Had one idea, pass a bill that says only owner occupied buyers are allowed to purchase a property for the first 30 days the listing is on market. Investors have to wait, giving owner-occ buyers a few more chances before and an upper hand before large corporate investment companies buy up 20% of the market. What other ideas have you had or come across that would help with the local market?
California is pretty costly compared to nevada. How long do you think it will take for nevada home prices to reach california prices? less than 5 years or more than 5?!?
@@DaniMrtini The median home price in CA for September this year was $868K, while Las Vegas Valley was only $475K (for SFR houses in So Nev), home prices here are almost half of California's prices still. They are catching up though! Happy to find data on your home town, what state are you in?
@@Kushisgone can’t argue that! some people do like living in a dense city! I do prefer the countryside from time to time as well! Have you been to lake tahoe on the NV side?!?
@LivingInLasVegasWithVickyandKy no I haven't. I'm sure it's nice though. I just don't like California anymore, and Nevada is getting many from there lately. I left California near 15 years ago as well after moving back there shortly.
I did the opposite after.4 years living in Vegas. Cheaper housing but cheaper everything else. Income tax is not a big reason. They say 10k a year no. It doesn't work like that. Loads of these comments in first 4 minutes just say you shouldn't move there. They contradict themselves most of the time. Chakis is 100000000% better vegas realtor than you lot. Search chakis instead of these dudes.

Maybe they have gambling problems, 60 years old, they should retired well in their gated senior community.

That’s why we are locals priced out. Thanks a lot
prices have definitely sky-rocketed since covid. Do you remember the prices of houses in 2014? How long have you been in town?

They already reach cali prices yet you have terrible schools and kids will end up working for casinos.

You couldn't pay me to live in California nor Nevada. Yuk.
Where would you go if could move anywhere? (Or stay put, if you already live there) Where's your paradise?
@LivingInLasVegasWithVickyandKy sorry but just not those 2 states. I already lived in California briefly. I prefer less people, lower crime areas
