I live in Vegas RIGHT on the boarder kf Henderson. This is a GREAT spot for if you have a family with school age children. Decent amount of neighborhood bars, but not a party scene. Quiet andmostly uneventful. Very few homeless folks walking around. Theres a Costco close over here as well if you like those. Honestly the only downside is it gets boring over here.

oh they got playgrounds for big people like us, not just only for kids very nice. putting in bigger slides should be part of the amphastructure project.

back in 2000, the entire city of Las Vegas was like a one big theme park but now, the park are dissapearing and being shut down.

Retiring this year and I'm thinking of relocating to the Las Vegas area ... I've been to Vegas a number of times and I really love the quality of life and the friendly people I've met along the way ... I'll definitely keep you guys in mind as I start planning a potential move to Nevada 👊🏻

It's beautiful but lots of crime, hit and runs, vandalism...streets loaded with dog crap, trash and leaves yet you'll pay 2 HOA's. People leave their trash outside of their cars. I remain in culture shock. F1 RUINS the strip for months...it is the grinch that stole Christmas. Worst schools and the only thing that matters are businesses and dogs...It has so much promise if we don't run out of water. Medical care...primary care is OK but the lack of competent specialists....nothing. Nev. Medical Board waits 7 years to post a ruling on incompetent doctors. That doctor did surgery on me and didn't even remove the cyst. The woman 7 years ago died but I couldn't know that because the board took 7years...I am stuck here but because of my cancer and lack of doctors that care, it won't matter. I wouldn't move here.

Funny that I was looking to move to Summerlin or Henderson back around 2013-2018 when real estate was so cheap, but never made the move cause family members kept shaming me about moving to Vegas. I don't speak to those family members anymore. LOL.

There are only two pros no state taxes and low property taxes. And about a dozen cons including thousand of 1) con-artists, 2) drug addicts, 3) murders by criminals and drunk drivers, 4) grifters, 5) transients, 6) illegals, 7) awful schools, 8) dirty restaurants, 9)awful drivers with no insurance, 10) too many people with very low IQ, 11) too hot, 12) to cold, 13) terrible water, 14) utilities way too expensive, 15) service from all industries sucks, 16) awful car dealerships and sales staff 17) casinos that will take your life savings 18) Developers and realtors that will tell you anything and everything just to get your money. 19) Terrible traffic and drivers. 20) Insurance is crazy expensive.

For retirees in particular, I'd choose Southwest Henderson/Sun City Anthem with its incredible clubhouse/pool overlooking the strip. I think you get a lot more bang for your buck. Location is ideal near I-15, airport, south strip, professional sports venues & the other new/planned developments (i.e. West Henderson Hospital, the planned Inspirada Station Casino-Hotel, Brightline train station, etc, etc...). You get the suburban/secluded experience as if you're living counties away, yet the world of Vegas & more is at your doorstep. Looking forward to retiring there. Summerlin is just too cookie cutter & isolated for many I know who have already moved to Southern NV from Cali...jmo.

Only the rich now can afford Vegas ! Was a great city till it got to California! Rents @ 1900$ a month one bedroom on Vegas average incomes ! These guys are selling to the high and fluent rich people. 120 degrees over a 100 days a year ! No water ? Etc it’s very expensive to live now ! The truth below . Vegas got ruined by CALI ! 1)Cost of living went sky high! 2) gas prices just like California! 3) people raised in Vegas can’t afford rent in Vegas no more ! Rents now like California! 4) jobs suck right to work state ! 5) extremely hot 🥵 from May till September! Better have air everywhere! 6) electric costs insane! 7) license plates ridiculous! Overcharging on fictional prices of vehicles that are not true msrp! 8) entertainment expensive! 9) Taxes on everything went up! 10) Car insurance double then the national average ! DUI EVERY SINGLE DAY EVERYWHERE! 11) police state do not get in trouble it will cost you in cash bonds 15 percent if bondsmen! Attorneys ridiculous! 12) traffic insane city not developed for 2.5 million people! Construction everywhere! 13) houses doubled from 2018! No front or back (yards) lawns your right on top of people! 14) not enough public libraries or things for children to do ! 15) school systems stink 47 in the country ! 16) terrible place to raise a family! 17) do not be 6 days late on rent you can get constable knocking at your door to evict you ! 18) crime ridden city , robbery, murder, drugs, break ins, rape etc ! 19) not a friendly city to many people come and go ! But it now became a suburb of California! Vegas follows California laws ! Getting expensive just like California.. 19) homeless and beggars never stop ! Can’t even get gas to get harassed! 20) Food prices insane expensive! Nevada does hardly make nothing! All made on gaming and hospitality! 20) HOAS everywhere that controls your property and ownership That’s just 20 ugly things about moving or living in Vegas after still living in Vegas 25 years ! Was a great place in the 90’s ,2000, up till 2010 things got out of control! Bought a new townhouse in 2008 3 bedrooms 2.5 baths 2 car garage in Henderson for 119k now worth 335k insane ! After 2 year’s retirement will move to 55 or older in a much better community for seniors ! Out of state ! Last Vegas health and Drs the worst of the worst we seem to get all the quacks that come to put their practice here in Henderson not Vegas ! Do not go to hospitals you will wait days in the waiting room to get a room ! Desert springs hospital closed down ! Only sunrise hospital and Umc are equipped to handle life emergency’s and their not equipped to handle all the residents plus the tourists that come to Vegas and drink etc ! So seniors don’t realize that they may need better health care and can’t get it ! You may die waiting for tests etc don’t get sick here they only care about the tourists to get them patched up and out of the city ! Good things ! After 5 months heat , you get good weather ! Plenty of restaurants in casino’s, 24/7 gambling town , better have lots of money you do not want be homeless in Vegas in the summer! Peace out -what my family and I experienced in Vegas of 25 years !! Water shortages, lake Meade drying up! No greenery .. better learn some Spanish because Vegas has a population of 60 percent Hispanic! …No state income tax , oh good for taxes on llc for businesses….
