If you have aluminum control arms you have to buy an entire new control arm because you can't press the ball joint out of aluminum because the aluminum could crack.
My favorite part was where those old rusty nuts just came right off with no clamping or heat or cutting or nothing, just zip right off. My second favorite part was where the installation cup fit over the boot but still had enough meat on the balljoint base to press it into the control arm without cutting the boot or bending the base. 😅 Overall good video example of a best case scenario.
The 18mm nut on outer tie rod just spins when I try to get it off, I have tried putting box end on nut and socket on hex tip but nothing worked, what to do?
It was luck that the ball joint stud didn't start spinning freely while installing.. This is not always the case. Sometimes you have to stick a hex key inside the socket and tighten with a wrench (really sucks when it happens). The socket strips really easily.
