This documentary interviews 3 people involved in intercepting RuneScape Gold Sellers for billions of GP. The two players doing the interceptions have it down to a science. In this interview they talk about their experience in OSRS - they left no detail untold. I also spoke with a large OSRS gold seller about their experience dealing with these RuneScape imposters.

I just realized. So many of the gold buying/selling websites negative reviews of people saying the website scammed them, actually got hit by people like these.

I've always used Rpgstash if I am gonna buy gold never been ripped off yet, but I've never dared to spend more than 20-30 bucks at a time. Been using the site for about 10 years now

Well I did similar. I sold my gold from staking on RS3 since I haven't got a staker on OSRS. I ended up buying a used but low mileage, clean motorcycle. (Honda Varadero 1000)
I've made $2400 before I tried the knot and I'm dead serious. Sold it all for PayPal then transfered to bank
Idk it’s kinda sad, like the money is cool but where’s their future? Someone who grinds out a real job and works their way up to a good salary has a longer future and actually develops skills employers want, instead of sitting in their basement selling RS gp, also how many hours does it take to make good money from rsgp? I imagine it takes a lot of patience and potentially long hours
I sold some on Ebay back in Mid 2012, Joke + Free Runescape Gold. All went on Bitcoin, Shame it wasn't earlier otherwise it would have been more haha. (£13 for 20m) Didn't get much, 10ish sales? Baring in mind crappy Fees, Still ended with a Chunk of change, after paying Ebay fees & purchasing the Bitcoin. Which I reinvested into Ant-shares eventually in July 2017, Made a bit from that. Shame Jagex didn't just let us sell it? Man I hated Free trade restrictions, But Merching from 3a Ranger sets after the restriction was removed, was great lol. (Buy 60m, (Free trade activated) Goes up, sell 100m, Buy 77m, 4 sets a day, 2 weeks straight.(Received 3A Range top back in September 09') Rangers in 06 (39.7m top) Rangers were 1.3m Back in the day. Ended up Getting Rangers in the Examine Centre, 3A was in level 13 wild by Chaos alter. Runescape is the Best! 15 Years well spent!

Pretty lame tbh. This is one scam that isn't equivalent to 99% of all other scams because you're scamming people that are breaking the rules them selves/barely even get impacted by it. As in the gold sellers. The gold buyer gets impacted but that would teach them to not buy gold and play the game legit instead. It's like "oh i've gotten everything I got out of this method let me ruin it for the other people attempting this and make it easier for gold sellers." I don't actually care about any of this but I'm looking at it objectively. Great video though Crumb.

I don't play or sell Runescape but an easy way to stop the scammers, is when you as the seller and talk to the buyer in the 3rd party website, besides getting the buyer and sellers usernames for confirmation, have the buyer and you as the seller create a randomly generated code like: "ASFJ4" and if the other person is unable to repeat that specific code then they are not the correct person :)
Imagine if you had stockpiled party hats when they first dropped, you could of literally lived of that gold for the rest of your life.

I started Old School Runescape back up a few years ago but had to take a little break right after starting when I was going through a programming bootcamp. After a few weeks of not playing I popped on to mess around and I was in a spot I didn't know and was just crafting stuff. Some dude had snagged my account somehow to farm gold and was so confident he didn't change any of my info or password or anything and didn't' eve transfer off his gold. So I logged on and had a few mill and 99 crafting hahahaha. I let support know and they said I could keep it and I think just were cracking up at the fact that he got nothing for a big chunk of time on my account.

I once bought 1b around 2014. It was taking too long for them to deliver so i canceled and bought it else where.
I was training and decided to turn on my private chat and received a message saying where to go to collect my gold. I went and collected a free 1b.
They then emailed me explaining how they messed up and that the person who did it is going to lose their family and they wont be able to feed their kids etc. Think I still have the emails.
