That's so amazing. I only wish I could paint with that detail, hopefully soon! Practice... How did you get that effect with the green around the edges? It looks like a sponge, it's very neat
Thanks. I have a bunch of random materials like fish net stockings etc. that I spray through. You can also get a stencil set by Artool called texture FX that is great for that kind of thing.
Jay Plant outstanding. I love your work and videos. One more question: do you ever get ridges between colors at all? No matter how hard I try, I feel like I keep getting them and I keep putting light coats on.
Jacob Richards Yes sometimes. Try to pay attention to your spray angles and do not spray directly on the edge of your masking. Let the overspray take care of the edges.
@@JayPlant Cool. Thanks for the response. I was thinking about doing a time-lapse video on the next helmet I'm working on. I just didn't want to have to complete it on one sitting. lol

Wow. That is an awesome job! What type of paint and primer did you use for it?
I use PPG and House of Kolor paint. This mask was new so I didn't need a primer. Just PPG sealer and base coat.
Wonderful job! How do you get your layers so smooth without them running? A lot of reducer?
A combination or well reduced paint and low air pressure. I am applying very small amounts of paint at a time.

All the videos that you posted, was each mask painted in one day? So each video is one continuous shot and not spliced together.
Hell no lol. Some may be one day. Most are 2 days. Maybe 3. All the videos are edited. I take a break every hour or so.
