Thanks to Tactical I just caught my PB Large Mouth 6lbs 2oz. this is HUGE for my state of South Dakota. The state record is only 9lbs 3oz.I follow what you guys teach to the tea, without you I would have never ever caught this fish in a million years!!!! A huge thank you, Tim and Matt! A new South Dakota state record is on its way guys!!!!!!!
Uptons rules. Strike King rules. Your rigs are perfect. Simple. I use them too. Information for success. You covered it all. I have relied on Uptons oxblood color. A proven performer for me.
I've been a subscriber to a lot of different channels and tactical Bassin is one of those channels that when I get the alert that there's a video I can't pass it up. Good work guys! Thanks for the info, all of it!
I used a shakey head this last week for the first time and couldn't keep the Bass off the hook every cast was getting hit!! glad I watched your videos and you guys are both very good at what you do!
I love all your videos are very informative the only problem I have is some of the base that you guys talked about you don't actually show us how to fish it you just tell us and while some people can understand what just explaining I'm more of a visual learner so when you're telling me to hop a jig or something like that it's easier for me if you actually show me how to hop a jig I know I'm probably one of the only people that thinks this way just thought I'd give my two cents still love your videos keep it up
Tony Reed dude with that comment/question you're on your way to becoming a good bass fisherman. This is one of the best channels I've seen in a while. Some of the Richest bass content out there. Great work gentleman. Hope to run into you sometime out on Clear Lake! Tight lines!
Hey Matt, Try this out. Not saying it will work any where or for everybody. Put a chatter bait blade on a big 10 inch worm and rip it off the bottom and let it sink back down. Caught some good fish like that.
Been looking at those upton worms. Going to order me a couple packs before heading down there. Thanks for another great video Tim! Look forward to all your tips and tricks :)
How do i avoid alway getting caught up and getting snagged in rocks every time i fish Carolina or Texas rig in medium to large rocks. Any tricks. Thanks
I started throwing big worms cause my uncle said we were going to Kentucky lake (we never went btw) so I was had the 8in bull worm in GP so I Texas rigged it with 0.5oz bullet caught a 2lber on first cast now I have a bunch of big worms my main colors are a black or purple a red and a green pumkin
I tear them up with 8 inch black and purple lizards on weightless Texas rigged 7/0 curved worm hooks. Just picked up some 10 inch floating lizards i’m planning on Carolina rigging next time out. The big lizard is by far my best bait.
Hey Tim, I've found the Yum Punkin Ed Jig and I've used a 5/8 oz with a 6/0 hook and the Yum Mightee Worm 10.5 or Berkeley 12" and giant bass eat giant worms.I caught a 7.11 lb LMB at Kentucky Lake and you can cast those a mile haha... Way to got on 125 subscribers any minute now...✌️🎣👍👏👏👏👏😂👍🎣👍
Can you tell us your top ten baits to catch bass on in the summer how to use them and what gear you throw them on and what conditions to best use them in
idk why this thought popped in my head....I wonder how many soft plastics and lures are at the bottom of your/my favorite lake? lol Tactical Bassin always good Knowledge!! Caught my PB on a big worm!
Matt, Tim. What are your thoughts about the state record largemouth in Wyoming being caught and killed instead of taking measurements, photos and doing the mount that way? Just curious.
Can you guys do a video on finding these summer bass, rock piles, ledges, post spawn stuff? I feel defeated right now. I've been skunked the past two times on the lake.
I lucked across some 10 in worms I had from my childhood fishing days. They are hollow and have a rattle head that fits in them for a weight. Been having a blast with them lately. Wished I knew the name of them to get more. 🤙🏻
First off I just want to say I love your channel and recommend it to all my buddies. My wife found your channel 2 years ago (trying to learn how to catch big bass) for a tournament we were going to on Lake Chickamauga. I got to give you guys a big Thank You ! Now when I purchase more tackle she went from (don’t you have enough) to having her buying lures. I hope you guys get some kind of commission from Tackle Warehouse lol The question have for you is I went to my local lake (Lake Raystown, Pa) twice in the past week, I was using flukes and caught a couple of bass but I had a lot of followers come to the boat that would not commit. Do you have suggestions as to what you would do in that situation? Thanks Brad
Do you ever fish big straight tail worms on a weightless Texas rig? I have caught a lot of nice bass flipping a 9in Upton's straight tail worm in holes in Lilly pads.
I have the Manns worm but haven't used it yet. I'm going to put it on a carolina rig do I have to fish it deep?? I'm fishing from the bank where the water is @5feet deep n flat bottom.
Do a video on scents ? Do you and matt use any scents or garlic on worms jigs cranks what ever swimbaits? Do you have.better success at night with scent or without
I really like the 784. When I got it I didn't think much of it. I was expecting off the charts sensitivity but it just felt average. Then I switched from a Curado 200i (7.5 oz) to the Curado 70xg (6.5 oz) and the ounce made a big difference. Tim, I saw you with a Revo or something, that was in the 5 oz range. Perhaps reel weight should be mentioned when talking about pairing a set up for Rod sensitivity. I'm sure a lighter reel will help any Rod feel better. I appreciate TB'
Dang ive seen those 7/0 shakey head hooks used to hang Beef with LOL. When in doubt get a bag of Mann's jelly 10". I rigged a strike king 6" bull worm unweighted and walked it top water and looks like a snake.
Each lake/pond is a little different. Keep experimenting..and eventually you will settle into what works best on your waters. And big worms tend to do better on natural colors IMHO.
I was seriously looking at big worms at Sportsmans yesterday and I didn't buy any. 😔 and I went to the lake super early and tried the old whopper plopped and some walking baits and didn't get anything on top water. Threw the 168 S-waver and got nothing. I'm having a tough time finding these bass on my lake. So discouraging.
do you fish these pretty much everywhere in the lake? i saw something about using these large worms in deeper open water, over humps and into structure you find on your sonar. or are you mainly using this technique in shore rip rap and around grass and cover? i am looking at some smaller/med size lakes with water going from 40ft or so up to flat top humps in 30ft to 25ft of water. wondering if this is a good option? dragging a carolina over these flats. thanks.
Upton's worms are the deal. I made one cast with a 13" and was burning it across the top and got a short strike. Bass will mistake it for a snake no doubt. I tell myself I need to leave the swimbaits at home and use more big worms but it's hard to do 😅
Summertime brushpile fishing is all about big worms. I usually go with worms that have ribbed/ringed type bodies...bad thing is they're only good for about one fish each. The plum colors are staples in Ky, the purpler the better. Do y'all use scents? I never heard it mentioned before. I try to start marinating my worms the night before in a Megastrike/ KicknBass combo.
On a Carolina rig the bait is weightless so when you drag the weight the bait will kick up off the bottom and then slowly sink back down. With the power shot, the bait stays suspended in the water column just off the bottom. A Carolina rig will have a slightly more erratic action as the worm can kick and flutter down to the side as well as up and down. With the power shot the worm moves more consistently in whatever direction the line is moving.
All the worms in the video were straight tails. Do you guys use the big ribbon tails like a 12" Zoom Ol' Monster? There's a narrow window where I fish that these giant worms shine. Not many people use them where I live.
It would seem big worms are they only thing working in my area right now. I showed up early one day at my lake and saw a school of them sitting by the bank in shallow water. I wanted the big one to eat my weightless black and blue ribbon tail yum worm but nope a smaller one decided to go for it. Still it was nice to get something other than trout for once. I decided to throw a black and blue ribbon tail yum worm because the voice of reason told me to.
I have some grubs, tubes and worms from my dad that have to be over 20 years old. They're still packaged and still good to go. I wouldn't worry so much about them losing potency, you can always add scent or thread on a new bait if you're concerned about that.
Hey I was wondering if you could help me at all. I’m fishing a lake that is really deep and clear and I keep having giant bass come up to the top of the water and just sitting there. I had one 6 or 7 pounder follow a 4.8 inch Kaitec in but never committed. I can’t seem to get them like this and I can’t get that many bites any other way because the lake has no structure so it’s tough to find where they are. Also I’m fishing from the bank so I can’t fish the middle. I got a 68 special rof 5 gizzard because this winter I saw big gizzard shad washing up on the bank (dying from the cold) I haven’t tried it yet but I was wondering if you could tell me where to fish with it since there isn’t any structure or weeds or if there is a lure that works for getting the bass at the top. Also f it helps top water hasn’t worked there for me and the bass sometimes go in groups of 3 circling the lake.
Actually gonna tell you the opposite of what most will but try slowing it down as much as possible. Here in Bama they are really focused on their beds and will not hardly hit anything unless it's really frustrating them. Edit: Also get some type of scent or attractant, I've even put Crappie Nibbles on my hook over the barb to just add a little scent for them to follow as you retrieve it slowly.
Bass Nazi yea like a shaky head or finesse jig.. that’s good way also. I just know how to power fish. Im in central Florida and all we have is cover and structure.
Yep it helps. Main reason i knew to slow it down were from crappie fishing up here. When the Roadrunners say on the back to fish SLOW they totally mean it, sometimes fast works, like after they start running shad around the banks, but the rest of the time they are pretty chill and laid back.

You guys are quickly becoming my favorite TH-cam channel! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Keep up the great work.
I used a shakey head this last week for the first time and couldn't keep the Bass off the hook every cast was getting hit!! glad I watched your videos and you guys are both very good at what you do!
Man Tim how big is that worm 12 in Milton
Love throwing the magnum ol monster in the summertime especially at night!
I love all your videos are very informative the only problem I have is some of the base that you guys talked about you don't actually show us how to fish it you just tell us and while some people can understand what just explaining I'm more of a visual learner so when you're telling me to hop a jig or something like that it's easier for me if you actually show me how to hop a jig I know I'm probably one of the only people that thinks this way just thought I'd give my two cents still love your videos keep it up
can't show you but best way to imagine it is you pump your rod tip up and down and then reel in the slack after 2-3 pumps.
Tony Reed dude with that comment/question you're on your way to becoming a good bass fisherman.
I took a trout fisherman friend of mine out years ago and we spent months on rigging, casting and working bass baits and lures.
Check out some of tactical bassin's older videos in their playlist before they surrendered to the masses with 3 videos a week. You'll find a lot more casting and working videos!!
Also try Nick the 'Informative Fisherman', he's a multi-species guy but he's got some 45-minute bass rigging, casting and working videos.

Love the advice and positivity thanks
Flukemaster has some great vids on how to fish just about everything
Mr. FatBasstard there are 30 types of rigs?!
This is one of the best channels I've seen in a while. Some of the Richest bass content out there. Great work gentleman. Hope to run into you sometime out on Clear Lake! Tight lines!
Nothing "Little" about those worms! Nice video guys!
I will totally be throwing these on some of our bigger reservoirs this year!! Thanks guys!
thanks for the tips again. I appreciate your thoroughness in putting the descriptions below outlining everything discussed.
I sure would like to see a video of you fishing with these worms.
I was wondering when those Upton's worms were going to make an appearance, nice!
I also like them on swing heads and weightless over the top of heavy grass. Only ever used the Mann’s but those Upton’s look awesome!
always checking you's out maybe something new has developed
excellent job to inform anyone wanting to learn more
Big worms are now my absolute favorite to throw. At first I was seriously questioning it now I don’t think twice.
Jetski Jay bigger worm bigger fish!
TB is killing it with the videos! Keep it up Tim and Matt!
Are they!?
Can you guys do some more in depth summertime night fishing videos? More so on what type of areas to concentrate on and what to really key in on?
Hey Matt, Try this out. Not saying it will work any where or for everybody. Put a chatter bait blade on a big 10 inch worm and rip it off the bottom and let it sink back down. Caught some good fish like that.
Great tips. Look forward to use a big worm.
Going to big worms and jigs soon good reviews thank you
Been looking at those upton worms. Going to order me a couple packs before heading down there. Thanks for another great video Tim! Look forward to all your tips and tricks :)

lojo.fishing dude you litterally watch every video that I do lol.
Way to got on 125 subscribers any minute now...✌️🎣👍👏👏👏👏😂👍🎣👍
Can you tell us your top ten baits to catch bass on in the summer how to use them and what gear you throw them on and what conditions to best use them in
A 10" plum colored ribbon tail worm is the absolute bomb in most situations here in Kentucky. Texas rigged.
Josh Wooldridge agreed. Zoom Ol Monster Plum Apple t rig.
That's the one! Lol!
idk why this thought popped in my head....I wonder how many soft plastics and lures are at the bottom of your/my favorite lake? lol Tactical Bassin always good Knowledge!! Caught my PB on a big worm!
That purple Uptons straight tail on a 7/0 shakeyhead.. deadly.
Been waiting for this video! Awesome job guys!
the v&m wild thang is a great big worm i use it all the time
Nice video Tim, thank you... I am anxious to try these
Thanks Tim!!! Great video and keep the videos coming
Matt, Tim. What are your thoughts about the state record largemouth in Wyoming being caught and killed instead of taking measurements, photos and doing the mount that way? Just curious.
I've been using Mann's 12 inch worms caught my pb bass on it great worm for the money.
Xcite baits are the best because it stands up like a ned rig when you pair it with a shaky head and its over 10 inches
U should do a review on googan baits
Isaac Niekamp Mondo Worm!!
Thank you for your knowledge, what color do you recommend when a lake is blue stoned?
Can you guys do a video on finding these summer bass, rock piles, ledges, post spawn stuff? I feel defeated right now. I've been skunked the past two times on the lake.
Zoom Ol' Monster is killer here in Florida
Tim, did you say welcome back to TACKLE BASSIN at the intro?...lol. great video guys! Thanks for all the tips
Nah if you listen closely he does say tactical
Hey Tim, do you ever throw a 12" Culprit ribbon tail?
Bass Pro Shops makes a great 10 inch worm , it’s actually one of the better things they do
I lucked across some 10 in worms I had from my childhood fishing days. They are hollow and have a rattle head that fits in them for a weight. Been having a blast with them lately. Wished I knew the name of them to get more. 🤙🏻
The link doesn't work to Upton's. Where can I get them?

I absolutely hate throwing a big worm but it is a good way to catch big fish
Dope combo🤙
No xcite baits maximus 10.5? I love that bait, especially because it floats.
Try the Mondo Worm. I’ve had success with it
Good vid uptons worms are awesome great guy to do business with
Do you ever fish big straight tail worms on a weightless Texas rig? I have caught a lot of nice bass flipping a 9in Upton's straight tail worm in holes in Lilly pads.
Tim Yoder Bass love them snakes man
Tim Yoder ya I could see how that presentation would work! Grass is too thick here in Illinois but if I get an opportunity I will try it! Tight lines!
Whats up Big perm?
I mean what's up big worm?

The Fishing Experience LOLLL
FRIDAY lol, almost there dude. FRIDAY to me means 2 mornings of Bass fishing.

The Fishing Experience I see what you did there! Well played sir!
My dream combo... unfortunately my Curado K is sitting on the shelf. Gotta keep saving for the GLX
If you don't catch a good fish on a Big Worm then "I dont think you applying yourself smokey!" 😃😂
Wow now that's a tactical worm.
I have the Manns worm but haven't used it yet. I'm going to put it on a carolina rig do I have to fish it deep?? I'm fishing from the bank where the water is @5feet deep n flat bottom.
Are they going to eat head first normally or do you need to let them swim off with it? Just wondering about the hook set.
Thanks Tim great video. When drop shotting a big worm like that what size hook would u recommend?
Do a video on scents ? Do you and matt use any scents or garlic on worms jigs cranks what ever swimbaits? Do you have.better success at night with scent or without

The bigger the bait the bigger the fish probed thanks tim
Been fishing the Manns Worms no luck yet. Definitely fixing to get back at it this week with Big Worm.
Jovan Pierre try a clacker on it
Each lake/pond is a little different. Keep experimenting..and eventually you will settle into what works best on your waters. And big worms tend to do better on natural colors IMHO.
Throw it on a shaky head bud
Throw it on a shaky head bud
I caught my first bass was over 8lb when I was still in diaper age that's what hooked me lifetime of bass fishing on the big 13inch worm
What about Doug Hannon’s, “fishing snake” ?
Always like your presentations been subscribed for a long time now. Thanks
Can you fish with big worms in the fall?
I love this channel
A Tim try the Okie rig it's the only Carolina rig I use
I was seriously looking at big worms at Sportsmans yesterday and I didn't buy any. 😔 and I went to the lake super early and tried the old whopper plopped and some walking baits and didn't get anything on top water. Threw the 168 S-waver and got nothing. I'm having a tough time finding these bass on my lake. So discouraging.
When you fish these big ol' worms, do you let the fish take it a little longer than you would than say a trick worm?
do you fish these pretty much everywhere in the lake? i saw something about using these large worms in deeper open water, over humps and into structure you find on your sonar. or are you mainly using this technique in shore rip rap and around grass and cover? i am looking at some smaller/med size lakes with water going from 40ft or so up to flat top humps in 30ft to 25ft of water. wondering if this is a good option? dragging a carolina over these flats. thanks.
At a buck a worm (or more), it had better be fun! Hopefully Z-Man will make mondo worms so they last.
Have you tried a Ned rig with the giant worms?
Mikeyballz does a magnum ned rig that's pretty sick, he's caught some massive fish on it.
Great video thanks
Uptons mag reaper!!! Money!!
Upton's worms are the deal. I made one cast with a 13" and was burning it across the top and got a short strike. Bass will mistake it for a snake no doubt. I tell myself I need to leave the swimbaits at home and use more big worms but it's hard to do 😅
I use the Mann's 12" Grape.
Summertime brushpile fishing is all about big worms. I usually go with worms that have ribbed/ringed type bodies...bad thing is they're only good for about one fish each. The plum colors are staples in Ky, the purpler the better.
Do y'all use scents? I never heard it mentioned before. I try to start marinating my worms the night before in a Megastrike/ KicknBass combo.
purpler !!! that's a real thing people
How does a Carolina rig look any different than the power shot or heavy drop shot which ever you want to call it?.
the lure and the weight are in opposite positions. C-rig is a weight and then a lure. Drop shot is a lure and then a weight.
With the power shot the worm moves more consistently in whatever direction the line is moving.
do you just hook the worm on a drop shot hook?
Texas rig style dropshot
I've won a lot of money on a June bug zoom ole monster. I have one tied on year around here in Florida
What's a OT hook??? Off set??
I haven't had much success with giant worms. I'll have to try your rigs!
All the worms in the video were straight tails. Do you guys use the big ribbon tails like a 12" Zoom Ol' Monster? There's a narrow window where I fish that these giant worms shine. Not many people use them where I live.
Jesse McNutt I do bud. Zoom Ol Monster, plum Apple.
Caleb Collier cali 420 is another good one when the water is clear. Plum is my all around go to.
Zoom Ol Monster "Plum Apple" t rig. Your welcome
Caleb Collier
*you're
Exactly
Nah, the welcome is literally all "Yours" smart guy.
"Clarence"
Caleb Collier I caught my pb a couple weeks ago on that same color and everything
Caught my pb last week on a big worm
My pb bass is on my profile pic caught in pa on a zoom mini lizard was 20+ inches sucked I did not have a scale
Nice!
Question: What is shelf life of these baits and how many casts can you throw before they lose potency (ie. keep in your garage/shed)?
Fishin2The Max I've bought Mann's jelly worms from a antique store before and caught fish on them lol as long as they're not dried out they will fish.
I have some grubs, tubes and worms from my dad that have to be over 20 years old. They're still packaged and still good to go. I wouldn't worry so much about them losing potency, you can always add scent or thread on a new bait if you're concerned about that.
Bass Matters good to know 👍
Bass Matters Appreciate the reply. thanks!👌
shtty17 Thanks for letting me know ! Much appreciated! 🇺🇸🐠👍
I'd like to see y'all do some night fishing videos in dog days like August, big worms and jigs at night. How to catch em when it gets tough
Also f it helps top water hasn’t worked there for me and the bass sometimes go in groups of 3 circling the lake.
devin weber try a weightless fluke in a shad color. Jerk it
devin weber try something like a savage gear shine glide bait, I hear it gets results and is fairly inexpensive.
Anybody had luck throwing a ten inch worm on a shaky head in the winter?
What about hooksets? Two theories: let them eat it, or they eat head first so hit them asap... Debate.
I’ve had better luck letting them eat it.
me too, just wondering what everyone thinks.
