Another good one from Autodoc. Love the way you guys allow the viewer to see what's going on and the fact that you keep it simple. I'm doing my cabin filter tomorrow. I'm sure I'll do more cursing than your technician but that's life! lol!
Thank you for your feedback! We wish you the best of luck and hope that everything went fine with your replacement. Stay tuned for more videos. Best regards, Autodoc!
Thank you for the feedback! We are glad that our tutorial was helpful for you. Your opinion and remarks are very important for us. We will take them into consideration for our next tutorial. Best regards, Autodoc.
Thank you for your comment. You are right, but in our case, for a detailed demonstration, we had to dismantle the glove compartment. Best regards, Autodoc team.
not really a masterpiece of serviceability is it? takes about 3 minutes and no tools on my truck, 30-45 minutes on the E36 including glovebox sag repair
Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, we haven't dealt with such car yet. Watch out for our updates. Probably, the video you are interested in will appear on our channel. Best regards, Autodoc.
@@Willsoffe46 was actually a lot easier than id imagined in the end, as in this video the new filter came with the breakable sections which made it relatively easy to manipulate around the clutch pedal assembly, so pretty much the same process in the end.
Thank you for your request. You can find this information in the technical documentation on the repair and operation of your car. Best Regards, Autodoc team.
That's true it would be on the driver's side for RHD located in front of the centre console. For non air con cars that is a different story however as air filter may not be there (depends on your model). You need to take out the windscreen wipers, windshield cowl and the air filter housing (containing circular air filter) is located underneath the windshield cowl. A painful job as well as in order to take off the cowl not only there are grommets to put back in to re-install, you got to ensure your bonnet hydraulic is put back in place as well.
I just did this, and once the skin on my hands grow back I'm going to find the dude who designed this part of the car and punch him in the face.

I believe the electrical box drops with 2 screws allowing better access to the duct. Using a vacuum is a must also.
@@dexterunderwood719 the box has two clips that pop off
Thank you this video helped me take on this job. It was a pain to remove and replace the filter, but with some patience I did it. Thank u again

any RHD tips? as it is not behind the glovebox. thanks
Never mind. Just done it and it's actually easier. Just remove cover under steering wheel and it's just the same but no need to remove glove box.
Thank you for your comment.
You are right, but in our case, for a detailed demonstration, we had to dismantle the glove compartment.

do i really have to disassemble the glovebox to reach the filter or i can just remove the bottom panel under the glovebox?
Yes, I do.... I just finished the whole process. It was a bit hard but at leats I'm proud that i did it myself.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, it should be disassembled otherwise there is no way to reach the filter. Best regards, Autodoc.
Thanks.
you don't have to. there r plenty of vids that show how to do that.

Anyone doing this in the UK you need to remove the panel on the driver side and not the glove box!
Already made this mistake. Guy in video didn’t have to manoeuvre around the steering column. Lucky git.
@@Willsoffe46 tell me about! I ended up moving a lot of cables and plastic trim as well, what a pain
This is amazing

you should not brake the filter in 5 places to fit it in just remove da wire box or whatever is called
Thanks for your valuable clarifications, this will be very useful information for our viewers.

Left-hand drive life for the guy in the video. Bending filter under the steering column is rather a challenge…

Will this be filter still be on the right hand side in a right hand drive car?
