So happy I found your channel awhile back man. Your weight cut video helped me reach my “weigh in weight” for my first year competing. Great tips 👍🏻, also good luck in Columbus! We have a few athletes from sask that will be competing there as well. Hoping to make it there next year 💪🏼.
Thanks for the vid! Me and my band mates are going to have a band powerlifting meet, we are all different weights (82,90,96,110kg) and are going to add our totals by weight/bodyweight not a perfect system but as balanced as possible, I'm the lightest guy and at a bit of disadvantage only been training two and a bit years whiles the others have 10+ years and one being a pro body builder but going to go to be at my best with what I have let's goooo so excited 😆
I was on week 3 of my training on my own 8 weeks of programming. But now there is a meet happening in my gym and its my first meet so i want to experience it, i have 3 weeks for it. Thank you for the video
Awesome stuff, man! Could you make a video on how to do warmup sets for different level athletes and different training goals, like how do you ramp up for 5x5 or 4x8 and for a one rep max?
Hey, alot of good videos you are making Alexander! Is it possible to get a video about volum and strength faces towarrads a strongman meet? Lets say 20 weeks out and general how too train when ur main focus is strongman in the off season. That would be awsome, thank you in advance. Good luck in your upcumming comp in Columbus! Greetings from Norway
My coach is a bit different. our only rest day is friday and beforehand we work up to a triple to a quadruple at 90 so we know what we can do for our opening lifts
Sounds like a regular high school coach who watched a video in the 90s. Listen to the dudes who actively lift big. Not the ones who speak in “I used to” or “back in the day”
Absolutely not. The closest you’d get to your current all time max is about RPE 9. So somewhere close to your 2 rep max. But you’d do it for a single. If you go for a new max before the meet, you’ll be too fatigued.
after i do my heavy 1x1 the heavy week what should my training look the second time i hit that body part that week? for example if i hit my 1 rep max monday and hit legs again thursday what should my thursday look like?
what about throwing in sport specific exercises into the plan. eg. for a boxing fight. would you do any skill training during contest week, and how would you weave it into the 2 prior weeks strength training schedule? thanks
What would you do on ur second day? I deadlift twice a week, so I’m doing ur 85% for 5 singles, then 90% am for 3 singles and so on but what do I do for my second deadlift day in the week? Would I keep it on the lighter side?
The white board is so dirty it looks like a work of art.
This video came at the perfect time. My second meet is in 9 days
I mean a bit late
Slightly too late lol how did the meet go
How did u do tho?
how did it go? 😭
💀
This is great for people that finished a block and just want to test out their maxes as well

@@brantonioj1098 they still do though they lift every morning at around 5 am or something like that
Would you take back off sets for your deadlifts after the single pulls at a lower percentage of the single?
Thank you Alex 😀
I am two days out from a comp and just hit bench at 80% capacity, wish me luck :(😭😭😭
should my heaviest week two weeks before be my PR or something close to it?
Absolutely not.

Do paused or deficit deadlifts
@@rockylifts3309 you wouldn’t have that in when your peaking
@@facts9144 i thought you are asking for a normal routine sorry my bad, ya in peak week there is no need
@@facts9144 in your 2nd day do lightwork or technique work
@@rockylifts3309 no worries, thanks mate
Has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like Chris Duffin?
It's not like you get an email lol
