I'm a V4 Bronson owner and am a bit confused by one aspect of this V5. Although the bike is longer...SC is saying how they increased the chainstay length for more centeredness on the bike.....but the FC/RC ratio is actually the same or a hair less centered compared to the V4. Unless there is something truly magically different about this version..... sinking extra $$$ into a Nomad seems to be the move. Love the reviews.....keep them coming.
I have the v4 Bronson. Thinking about the v5 cuz I wouldn't mind something slightly longer. I might grab a Patrol, but I think i'll miss how well the VPP climbs. I was considering the Nomad as well...
I really like my Nomad compared to the Patrol, if you're thinking about the burlier option. I am enjoying the new Bronson 5 but it definitely has a more planted and stable feel compared to the 4's playful demeanor.
Great review and footage! Trying to decide whether to get a heavily discounted nomad cc mx frame or getting the Bronson c v6 and using my parts. What would you chose? Would you run a 170mm 38 on the Bronson? Thank
I would go Nomad, especially if you're going to put a 170 38 up front you might as well have the frame to back it up. While the Bronson climbs marginally better it doesn't feel more agile on the downhill and the Nomad definitely feels more confident and stout when you push its limits.
@@ericdelchiaro9502 it’s noticeable but not night and day. The Nomad is a great climber and better than the outgoing Bronson. On a big day or a big climb you’ll be a little slower and a little more tired at the top but for most my riding it’s worth it.
Would you say this new Bronson is noticeably more playful and poppy completed to the Nomad. I have a V2 Megatower and want a more playful/ less travel mx wheel.
I wouldn't say the difference is huge. I still need more time with the Bronson, but so far it feels less poppy than the Nomad. Yes, being lighter its marginally easier to move around, but not to get off the ground.

How far off is this thing from riding like the Nomad v6? Currently have a Nomad v6 for park/enduro and a Bronson V4 for riding less aggressive trails. Wondering if the Bronson v5 would split the difference and do both well. Appreciate your thoughts.
Not too far, It is certainly more burly and capable than the V4. The 38 on the Nomad is probably what makes it so sure footed in the gnar. However while the new suspension loves high speed chunder it is a bit muted on mellower terrain and requires more effort to get going and off the ground.
@@frontrangemtb1441 oh yeah, 30mm including the bearing cap. It is still just below my Nomad and works really well with the new geo and the trails I ride most.
@@NICADV Probably 140 to 160 travel, (weighing towards 160), most likely full 29. Lots of rocks and roots in my area that make me shy away from any mixed wheel setup.
@@rl9810 if you’re leaning 160-170 the Evil Wreckonging would be at the top of that list. The Santa Cruz Megatower is also quite good. On the 140-160 side I’d have to stick with Evil and the Offering, but also the Gen 6 Trek Fuel EX.
one thing i've been noticing that all SC owners seem to run stupid amount of stem spacer ... is it a design flaw that SC bikes have super low stack height overall ?
@@liwx no, the newest gen of bikes are even on the higher side. I am running the max 30mm including bearing top cap, but most fork manufacturers do not recommend any more.

Thanks, I can attest to it climbing and descending better than the V4, but so far I also prefer the Nomad for my area and the trails I ride.

Bronson v4 is what your looking for new one is not as poppy

When you can get a v4 on sale for half the price of this I wonder if it’s that different of a bike to spend extra on
Personally I think it is, but the current/old Nomad can be found for a great deal and climbs and descends better than the V4.
So I still buy the 2025 nomad instead of a Bronson if I only really ride steep techy stuff and bike park places ?

@@NICADV Well, I am 6'5" tall, so like a 150mm travel bike for a 5'10" dude is like 165mm for me. Maybe the Megatower is the way to go.
