Thank you for that great and honest advice. I pray my Husband and I can remain married for 44+ years; we’ve so far been married for 10. I always ask married couples that have been married for a long time like yourself, how you make it work and the answers I always get is: 1) WORK! Work makes the marriage work and 2) to listen to 1 another. I never take advice from people that are single and I honestly rarely take marital advice at all from others because I’ve learned that no one can give you advice on your marriage but yourself and your spouse. But I do love hearing ways to make it work and how to remain happy without loosing your independence and how to keep your spouse happy. Do you have any other pointers that you’d like to share? I know I just contradicted myself - but being married for 44 years is admirable and you’re doing SOMETHING right obviously!!! LOL ... and I’d be honored to hear more from you if you don’t mind sharing.
