Sorry forgot to say the Golf is recorded CAT S. who knows why 🤣

  • @MrRedfreds

Keep it, fix it, raffle it, run a poll see how it goes.

  • @muffindell

I think that you should do this one and prove how much a scam insurance costs are in this country

My son reversed into our neighbour’s car. Insurance claim was for over £4,500 as two new doors were required. Once the car was repaired we noticed that the original doors were still fitted and were repaired and painted. Yet the original quote was still paid out.

Send it to bodyshop for what you can't or don't want to do, then make this a 500BHP beauty.

  • @Emberescan12

Why not offer it to the Salvage Rebuilds UK team (Rob and Chris), this is right up their street. Be a good channel tie up.

  • @paullaw5054

Come on Dean, get it fixed. That's why I subscribe to the channel, to see you repair cars, not flog them off.

  • @4happydaze

The honest thing to do is replace the quarter panel. Pulling it out and reshaping with a ton of filler is just back street garage stuff IMO

  • @clivewiddall3430

They include cost of hire car paperwork etc. it cost 7200 to fix my car and 7800 for car hire charge then towing and admin on top of that. And that is why so much gets written off! Go figure….

  • @johnmosley7039

17 grand what they been smoking and drinking

It is hard to work out Insurance companies logic, someone bumped our old SAAB 93 years a go in a car park... car was only worth £800, I had paid £300 for it, I was sure it would be a right off, insurance paid out £1700 in repairs? Very poorly repaired by insurer, panel was filled and overspray everywhere! Van pulled out on my 1967 Sunbeam Alpine, easy repair, I wanted to buy it back, three days later it had disappeared from their compound..... four weeks later I saw it in town parked up with a very pleased new owner, wasn't so pleased when I told him it was a write off couple of months earlier! Would have rather had the car than pay out.

Keep it, would make a good series. Everyone loves a hot hatch

nah dean you have got to keep it and fix it, i think its still good content, its all about saving cars and we want to see how you go about fixing the car. besides there is a healthy profit in this one...get the bloody thing fixed

  • @jonb8241

Need Chris and Rob (Salvage Rebuilds) to buy this... work their Magic 😎

  • @Henny2210

Another vote for fixing it, Dean... 👍 Be really interesting to see how cheaply this could be fixed properly for... maybe then monster it (500bhp+ and those alloys!) and raffle it?

  • @timstock7193

Definitely fix and raffle it off. We would like to see the repair.

  • @RumpleXstillXskin

Would of liked to see you fix this dean 👍

  • @garysides636

17k wow .....I'm hoping you can get this put together relatively cheaply given the make / model let's just hope there's no surprises.....

  • @andrewharding165

Dean, Golf R content always does well on YT.

  • @WilliamStevens007

I think keep it and raffle it. Be a interesting repair if the rear quarter can be pulled rather than replaced.
