When it was finished, he decided it would be a good idea to test fire it out of the window on the top floor of the Tech Pubs office. The recoil took out about six drafting tables, blew the windows out and lifted the roof sheeting. It was brilliant. Didn't do his career any harm either - he went on to be head of Technical Publications. 🤣
