7900xt should have been 7800xt, then 7800xt should have been 7700xt. This whole 7000 gen naming was a huge mess resulting in abysmal generational improvement over 6000 series.

Rdna 3's goal was to be efficient in very possible matter
They never promised "generational uplift" the reason why amd charges low for rdn3 gpus is because of how cheap they are to make unlike nvida gpus

Yea but this is only in cyberpunk , alan wake 2 and maybe in resi 4. In all other games we are talking about single digit fps difference.
But this is the 7700 XT not the 7750 XT, the correct comparison is 6700 XT vs 7700 XT
@@jun1orIV 6750xt is just an overclocked 6700xt. You don't see bigger number in shader units or anything else. The difference betwen 6700xt vs 7700xt or 7800xt and 6800xt is small and that's the truth. Even 7900gre is as fast as 6950xt in most games. 7900xt starts standing out but it is already the second best amd gpu in the current line up.
That's why you don't upgrade every generation
This isn't even that bad of a generational leap
(compared to other cards like 3060 to 4060)

Dude, compare how much the performance of the 14900K has decreased in games with the new BIOS.
I have i7 14700kf and Rx 5700xt
hardwareluxx has benchmarks it's a pretty small drop and they had to use 720P to see up to an 8% drop in performance but at higher resolutions hardly any change.
Generally a small drop, like maximum 8% less in one or two titles, on average 4-5% less, you wont notice any real difference while actually playing

I am about to buy a new gpu,i have ryzen 3600 and it is more than enough for what i am doing.XFX 6750 is 380€,a good 7700XT is around 450€ and i was thinking to get a white hellhound for 560€.What do you guys think is a better option?

@@Qlssu6 I was ready to buy the 7800 XT Hellhound spectral white for 560€ but i eventually bought the Sapphire RX 7900 GRE Pure,it is a beast.26 ambient and the card runs at 65 core and 80 hotspot with the fans at auto (~1200 rpm),very quiet.I am very pleased with this gpu.3600 runs the card at 99% at Metro Exodus,i didn't have time to test other games but the 5700X3D is coming soon.

Jesus, in my country 6750 xt îs 300$ and 7700 xt around 500$. Of course, i take 6750 xt for 2 years ( 2026 ).
In my country 7700xt is 480$, and 6750xt is 445$ - which more or less mirrors the performance. If you're upgrading from something old, the 7700xt is OK, but absolutely no reason to replace a rx6000/rtx3000 gen card. I really like AMD, and will keep buying their cards on principle (competition is good), but let's be honest - 7700xt is not what you'd call a thrilling proposition. Also, AMD's power consumption is a bit out of whack - but then at least the 7700xt is 10 degrees cooler by nature, and undervolts really nicely.

@@Mrdn36 It depends on some criteria. Like if you game on 1440p then this cpu is enough to pair with Rtx 5070/5080.
For 1080p, you need to upgrade your cpu.

What I did was get the 6750 XT and used the money saved to buy a 1440p monitor to upgrade from my 1080p one. Would be pretty overkill to get a 6800 or 7700 XT to play on my 1080p 165hz display. 6750 XT is amazing and offers exceptional value.

Lovely that the 7700 XT uses more power than last gen's 6800 yet doesn't match the 6800 while being on a lower nanometer

Well, while 6000 series energy readings are false, the 7700 xt DOES use a lot of power! Fortunately it undervolts very nicely, so you can at least drop it into 190-200 W range.
I bought the 6750xt, imo I dont see 10FPS more as worth 100€ as I dont play the games on max settings. I only want to achieve them 60 on good graphics thats it.
