~~~Answering Expected Questions~~~
Q: Why didn’t you wall tech or use rising grapple, or xxx technique?
A: I didn’t say this in the video, but I strongly discouraged myself from using wall techs and rising grapples because they looked too suspicious, though these weren’t official rules. If there is another technique, I probably don’t know about it.
Q: Why didn’t you use the wide-screen mod?
A: I just didn’t know it existed at the time and frankly still don’t know anything about it.
Q: Why is the footage slower than regular gameplay and laggy?
A: This run was completed before I had my new computer. What you are seeing is the limits of a MacBook Pro. I tried to cut out most of the lag manually from the video, but I may have missed some.
Q: Why did you use save states you casual?
A: Due to the precision of a lot of these techniques or RNG dependency, I used save states, mostly because I could. I wouldn’t use them in a game like Souls (unless it was immensely terrible (see All Artorias Asylum conundrum (I wasn’t able to anyway))), but for a run like this, I used save states primarily to have fun by cutting out the punishment. The Smash runs are something I really enjoy, and not using save-states would ruin that for me. Doing it for the tiniest bit of extra clout is not worth it. In other runs, I use save states (when available) on a more restricted basis (Super Mario Sunshine run is a good example).
Q: Are you good at Smash?
A: I used to be the best in the neighborhood, but don’t know much about competitive strategies besides what you see in these videos. I haven’t played in years (I don’t have access to the newer titles), and my skill shown here is hampered due to using a PS4 controller as well as the restrictions of the run.
Q: Are you going to splice a supercut of each character’s run?
A: No. It would take an immense amount of effort that I don’t think many people would be interested in. Additionally, there no recorded game sound for a majority of the run due to my lack of equipment at the time, and I feel that would detract from the entertainment value in addition to the waiting I did for different items or failed strats. I also feel like it would be double-dipping too much, and I would rather people see this video than that one.
Q: Any plans for any of the other smash titles?
A: I would love to do another run like this on them, but unfortunately, only Brawl has a game-mode comparable to this one. If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them.
Q: You said shield popping. It’s called “shield jumping.”
A: Nope, you're wrong. See Part 2 of this series.
Clarification: The “Number of Save States Used” figure shown for characters was pretty inaccurate because of how fast paced the run was, and also includes deaths. Just assume the number is around what is in the video.
Cut Content: The second part of F-Zero Grand Prix was supposed to be a montage at well, but the first one took so much time and was a little awkward with the silence, so I only added the most interesting characters. - เกม

at first i was like "oh shit brinstar escape..."
then i remembered as long as you have at least two stocks, you'll move onto the next stage if you run out of time, at the cost of a stock. this is the only stage where a timeout doesnt force you to do the level over.
though if you still fail with no stocks and get a game over, continuing will move you onto the next stage. in short, you get one shot here per playthrough. win or lose, *your ass is going to green greens*

At 22:07 it looks like you bounced on the incoming koopa shell because of the super mushroom or something, I think that was the real absolute miracle
Obtaining a super mushroom interrupts any move your were doing at the time. While he was midair when getting the first super mushroom, he started squall hammer again, this from the air, where you gain much more height from squall hammer.

God, I feel like this channel is just waiting to blow up. There are intense challenge run videos out there, but Andy has gone above and beyond the ridiculous scale.

On a serious note, I love this video. It’s like the platonic ideal of the, “which characters can make the Temple jump?????” videos that infect everyone’s recommended-it contains the same joy of seeing each character’s unique (jk lol super mushrooms) way of making it to the end and overcoming every, but with that patented ChallengerAndy “what do you mean ‘can they,’ they are *going* to make that fucking jump i swear to god” flair. I think you could clear a lot of the platforms with a perfectly mashed Mario tornado. The optimal mashing for it is like inhuman
I think I was reaching the max limit, but I can't find any information on this. I can do 14 inputs a second, so pretty good. Luigi, on the other hand, does require literally inhuman presses to max out, I remember reading that specifically.

In this moment ( 11:03 ) you could’ve pressed R or L and di’ed into the wall so you could perform a wall tech, it would stop all your knock back and instead of bouncing of the wall you would just stop your momentum making it easier to land on the platform.

The death warp strategy in Falcon’s stage is pretty cool how you have to carefully get hit to move the camera and do a side special. Aside from the fighting I have always liked how you can use different moves to travel the most distance across gaps and vertically.

9:25 Couldn't you just wait until the Goombas approach the rock platform you're on, fall off the platform, land on the Goomba, then perform Super Cape + Mario Tornado? Or would that not work? (If not for Mario, perhaps the other characters at least)

You know, with samus, it was really easy,j ust use a down b bomb to gain some air, the do an air dodge, then pressing z while in mid air to do a tether grab on the wall and then pressing the a button to get to the upper ledge, I'm talking about around 18:05
good video! but you probably could have used samus’s tether recovery to reach some of the platforms
It forces you to jump unless you tether the edge, so I didn't like it. Though I don't think to game considers it a jump (still get concrete shoes)

Watching the Ice Climbers it looks like the boost came from grabbing the mushroom AFTER using the side B.

@@ChallengerAndyOfficial I wondered if it reapplied the upward moment after you got the mushroom shooting you skyward, and that yes since you were in the air you got that boost instead of the ground boost. Probably have to test it but timing is interesting. Although now I wonder if you can chain boost by dropping off a ledge to get the first air boost and grab a mushroom mid move to reapply that boost to get even more air.
i noticed a few situations where if you had teched the wall it wouldve put you in a good position, potentially avoiding a lot of headaches
They looked too much like wall jumps, so I avoided them for the most part
