By far the best engine bay dressing I've used to date. Looks great and I love the fact you don't have to worry about it causing issues when it hits electrical connectors. By the way ... it's rated up to 482 degrees (F) by Daimler ( per the bottle ). Applied it to the Jeep SRT a month ago. Checked it after a week straight of rain and it still looks spot on. Much better than the hyper dressing I had been using. Thanks again Brian!
I kinda like it.. I really like the new background in the beginning 😎 Dumpster😬.. they make great grease rags for heavy equipment.. put them in a bag and donate them to the closest construction company/ site.. they will be happy to take them..♻️😁
A big thanks Brian for this video. Right now I’m sat at home in the UK waiting for my delivery of Koch Chemie MP, so it’s been really good to see what kind of performance I can be expecting. I’ve been using Autoglym rubber and vinyl up till now but fancied a change. I want something with a bit more longevity. You’ve probably already tried this but I’ve always used my blower to blow the product in to all the nooks and crannies straight away after application, works an absolute treat. If not, give it a go, leaves a fantastic finish.
It took awhile, but I finally received my Koch Chemie! I first experimented with it on my John Deere. Hmmm, not bad, not bad at all! Then on to my truck. Oh yeah, even better. Next will be on my Vettes. But now I need more product!🤦🏼♂️😊 With what little I have left, I'll continue my experimentation on my non-vehicle plastic and rubber items. I think the possibilities are endless. Thank you so much for showing/demonstrating this product to us.🙏 Save the Wave👋🏿
Looks like CarPro PERL. That's what I use and in exactly the same way. Diluted to the proper ratio, I use a bottle that highly atomizes the liquid. Covers evenly and it's water-based so its not greasy. I've helped people with car repairs in my garage and I hate when someone uses a greasy engine bay dressing. They've clearly never done any mechanical work.
I bought this after seeing your video. A very nice product, smells good and end result is amazing. Koch Chemie is a German brand, as we all know Germans produce quality stuff👍
Thanks Brian, but I use chemical guy's bare bones and really love that satin shade that I like. It's $9 for 16oz, and really lasts. I use it for mainly tires and inner fender linings which I apply using a applicator pad.
I really like the idea of cleaning and letting the product do all the grunt work. Back in the 80s engines were rat motors or old clunkers. I used gumout engine block cleaner and carburetor cleaner to clean the heads and manifolds. Then you rinsed off and how she started. After running the engine you would wait 30 minutes and then spray armor all. People would wow and ask how did you get the engine so clean.
Really Great Video!! I’m picking up my 2024 C8 next week and because of your video I will be using your recommendation for MotorPlast!!! Question….What Waterless/Rinse product do you recommend prior to the MotorPlast??? Thank you….Dr Bob
Nice new background to the videos. Would love to see this up against CarPro Perl and Gyeon Q2M Preserve for ease of use and durability. When you show your Vette(s) is this how you would dress the engine bay, or do you approach it differently? Appreciate all you do for us driveway detailers. Thanks.
I normally use CarPro Perl for engines, tires, and other plastics and rubber seals. It's just such a good value, but those Koch Chemie slick labels and bottles are too good. I already have some on the way.
Every video I see about engine bay cleaning is done on newer cars that are mostly covered in plastic. Is there anything for a more exposed engines and engine components and wires?
Just bought some for my Audis' engines. Damn that stuff is awesome!! Not sure how it holds up but 24 hours after cleaning and coating it looks brand new under there. WTF did I not hear about this stuff earlier. Question: I used it on the cover between the hood seal and engine (all under hood), would it work on the bezel at the base of the windshield around the wipers? I can't seem to find anything that makes it stay looking clean and black. Not sure if it's sun safe.
Yes this stuff is pretty expensive but it's worth every penny. Don't know how they made it but it just works really well. Everything from Koche is top top tier. But this may be my favorite product from them. There is other good apc's, snow foams and compounds but there isn't any engine dressing touching this stuff right now.
That Detailing brush, where can I get some that'll ship to australia. It's the same one I used previously helping out another detailer but they're not sold in AU.
Looks like a nice product, but too expensive to ship to Maui vs a few other products. Interestingly the wash protocol is very similar to what I do, unless the engine bay is a lot more nasty. I like a tornador with different chemicals or cleaners as needed, then agitate as needed and wipe down is all. Sidebar: I’m finding that cyclone air blaster my “go to” to get sand out of “ impossible carpets”. Thinking of buying a new one with a vacuum attachment I like so much. Air mask a must😂.
This! Have Perl and for this application specifically. I would not use on interior plastics as you might with Perl. Makes interior plastics really shiny ( unless you like really shiny interior plastics ).
I would like to see a comparison between this and Armor All. It appears to look and act exactly like it when applied. The major difference I can tell between the two is this product is more than twice as expensive. I wonder what the advantages this product has over other products.
The benefits are that its temperature stable up to like 490 F. Doesn't require to be wiped on or off. It's water based, and non-greasy. It self levels. It doesn't leave any residue, and isn't glossy like Armor All. It also depends which Armor All product we're talking about, some of them contain petroleum products, which could damage certain surfaces or materials.
It will die down a bit all on it's own. I don't recommend using anything to wipe it with unless your wiping overspray. 1 month later and my engine bay looks new and fresh not greasy and super shiny.
Is the product parts sensitive? Another words, do you need to stay away from the engine belts? (Causing slippage). Do you need to stay away from the alternator? I like the fact that its self leveling. Good video.
I would always recommend staying away from belts and the alternator. Typically you have to be somewhat cautious with belts, alternators, and electrical connection points . This actually protects those electrical connection points. Something I haven't seen on other engine bay dressings is a temp rating. Per Koch it's rated up to 482 f.
Self Leveling~! very nice, spray it on and go work on something else. The milky white product reminds me of a leather sheen [not automotive] i used in leather crafting~!
Well, I’m repeating myself but you’re simply the best! 🥇🏆 Another vid that goes to my “Whach it Later” folder. Thank you Brian,. *Q: When comes to rating the product you gave it “impressive”, so my question is which similar product is “very impressive” in your opinion? Could you share your top 3 in this category? Thank you in advance.*
wow wait a minute, what's with the fancy room and furniture Brian, you can't just start a video somewhere new and not tell us about it :D. But I like the room! The pronunciation of Koch is hurting my ears though as a neighbor to the Germans, I'm sure German-speaking viewers as well haha, UK John does it too. but can't write how to pronounce it, since in English there is nothing similar to the sound of a g like in German. however, if you go to google translate, select German type Koch and press the small microphone button, you will hear how it's pronounced :D No biggie though, just a detail. But I thought I would share it for the people who wanna know or don't know the google translate button yet. Cheers
Not the foam for me it been great, not runny, it doesn't attract dust, and like I said I had no issues with it by telling you guys that the accessories engine belts in all my cars there's still looking like new after 6 years. I guess it is how you are applying it.
Threw me off. Almost felt like I was watching a James Hoffman coffee video... Thanks again Brian.
☕Cheers!

I’ve been using this on my vintage Thunderbird, and my late model Tundra. Remarkable product!
I kinda like it..

This product is magical.
Wow, I really like that product. Impressive... Thanx Brian. 😬
That looks good. Reminds me of when I use armor all on mine. Although it may last way longer than armor all.
It took awhile, but I finally received my Koch Chemie! I first experimented with it on my John Deere. Hmmm, not bad, not bad at all! Then on to my truck. Oh yeah, even better. I LOVE Motorplast!!! Such a great protectant!!!
I bought this after seeing your video. A very nice product, smells good and end result is amazing. Koch Chemie is a German brand, as we all know Germans produce quality stuff👍
Very cool product thanks for showing it off. Also the updated shop looks great and the thumbnail you used for the video was a nice touch 🍻

Can this be used on exterior as well? Plastic trim, tyres...etc?
Nice new background to the videos. Would love to see this up against CarPro Perl and Gyeon Q2M Preserve for ease of use and durability. When you show your Vette(s) is this how you would dress the engine bay, or do you approach it differently? Appreciate all you do for us driveway detailers. Thanks.
My Vettes have GTechniq C4 on the engine bay trim.
This product reminds me of a product we used 25 years ago by Car Craft called Engine Kote. Was impressive stuff. Maybe you remember that stuff.
I normally use CarPro Perl for engines, tires, and other plastics and rubber seals. It's just such a good value, but those Koch Chemie slick labels and bottles are too good. I already have some on the way.
Damn Brian, your on a roll now...
Can you use this on tires and other car plastic ?

I just used Rinsless to wash my engine bay (by hand) and then applied Turtlewax Ice Seal n Shine, hope it will help to repell some dirt :)
Would this product work on a Toyota from the 90s that everything is exposed? The engine bay doesn't have any plastic covers
Yes this stuff is pretty expensive but it's worth every penny. Don't know how they made it but it just works really well. Everything from Koche is top top tier. Thanks for the great review as always brian 👍👍👍👍
Love this stuff!
great product review and video again buddy. seems like great product
Hi is this solvent based ? Seem to leave a greasy residue after more than 24 hours
Another top tier showcase! Thanks B!
Is this dressing or cleaner also? You first clean and then you apply this?
what product did you use to clean the Motor with first
That Detailing brush, where can I get some that'll ship to australia. It's the same one I used previously helping out another detailer but they're not sold in AU.
2:48 What's this rinseless wash stuff, and where can I get that applicator? Slick! Thanks for uploading - adding to my list
Great product review
Does it matter if you get it on the belt?
Awesome new background !!!!!
Just a backdrop I built in a back bay away from the correction dust. It was killing my recording equip.
Sexy new debrief center Brian! Thanks as always for the awesome video and product review. 😉
Another great video sir!
Would love to see a head to head with CarPro Perl...my preferred dressing
This against Meguairs hyperdressing, which is better in long term?
I agree, I love the hyper dressing
Have both and this easily bested Hyper Dressing. Wish this was available in larger sizes.
This forms a thin protective film.

New desk!? I love it!! Where is that? In the shop or the office?
Just a backdrop I built in a back bay away from the correction dust. It was killing my recording equip.
Great video... as usual
Compared to CarPro Perl do you think It is better? Koch Chemie is very good value in the United Kingdom.
This! Have Perl and for this application specifically. I would not use on interior plastics as you might with Perl. Makes interior plastics really shiny ( unless you like really shiny interior plastics ).

Is it better to put the product onto the towel and then wipe? Or for the conditioning aspect of it, better to spray it or do both?
Spray and walk away - come back 30mins later and blot any excess or standing product. Do not wipe!
@@wayniac34 ok...thanks...
I take from Koch Chemie RefreshCockpitCare also work like Motorplast greetz from Switzerland!
Amazing
A little bit too shiny for me but I know some love that like this. Thanks Brian !
use a microfiber to knock it back and it gets a nice matte finish
It will die down a bit all on it's own. I don't recommend using anything to wipe it with unless your wiping overspray. 1 month later and my engine bay looks new and fresh not greasy and super shiny.
The longer it dwells...the better it gets.
Koch Chemie is my favoritt brand. Good products and value here in Norway at least.
Easy to use product ✊
Great video
Sweet.. how much time until it cures to a satin finish?
30 to 40 minutes
Is the product parts sensitive? Another words, do you need to stay away from the engine belts? (Causing slippage). Do you need to stay away from the alternator? I like the fact that its self leveling. Good video.

I only stay away from belts. But I do that with all protectants and dressing.
Self Leveling~! very nice, spray it on and go work on something else. The milky white product reminds me of a leather sheen [not automotive] i used in leather crafting~!
1st from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
Just looked it up on amazon and it was $1000 LoL. Where are you supposed to get it at.
Did anyone try it to rejuvenate rubber floorliners ?
Does it dry completely with no oil mess? If so this reminds me of Meguiar's Engine Kote, it was an awesome they stopped selling around 2004.
In about 30 to 40 minutes...it will have a satin sheen.
This product is really good but expensive, I have a short up where I spray the product on using less product as well
Autoglym vinyl and rubber care is just as good and looks and works just the same, that £7.00 in the uk not sure over in the states
I normally use 303 Aerospace protectant which is a great product
Well, I’m repeating myself but you’re simply the best! 🥇🏆

How does this differ from Megs Hyper Dressing?
This forms a thin protective film.
Brian, are you related with the guy from project farm?
Good guy...but no.
Anything ready available state side thats similar to this? For a better price ? And waiting on that Jersey Devil video 😁😁
CarPro Perl.
@@apexdetail85 i jumped on hyper dressing
It just looks like maguiars Hyper dressing which i use a lot of

Anyone know a good brand of small polishing cones to clean up crevices on clear coated wheels. Some on amazon seem huge??

Cookkk would be the closest i can think

I had been using Armor all spray foam for tires to keep the engine clean and it does a pretty good job . It clean and protect plus it's cheap.💯👍
Armor all products are 99.99% garbage. Just letting u know
Don't use Armor All. Its sticky and attracts dust and dirt. Very hard to remove when cleaning next time.
Not the foam for me it been great, not runny, it doesn't attract dust, and like I said I had no issues with it by telling you guys that the accessories engine belts in all my cars there's still looking like new after 6 years. I guess it is how you are applying it.
BTW...100 subscribers by Jan 1. What do you think...
Inflation hit $24 now😮
KochChemie really has the best products, hands down! But that one didn’t needed any cleaning, come on.
Looks and seems to behave like PERL diluted 4 or 5:1.
Looks similar to Sonus Motor Kote
Remove as much as possible plastic parts first. Then you can really start cleaning the engine.
"KOCH"☝️ and not "Kotz" which means 🤮

Hyper dressing 🤷
Looks like the crap shady used car place put under the hood to make everything shiny. No thanks.
@Spongebob Schwanzkopf German quality. Hahahaha. Whatever simp.
