These figures certainly caused some controversy when they came out and they still are. Some collectors think they should only be for the OT series and not the modern series. Then collectors were complaining because they had to buy a board game to get a figure to complete the series. And they hated the prototype multicoloured for what ever reasons. They seem to sell no better or no worst then TVC figure both series have their peg warmers. I have a number of them. I just buy the ones of the figures I like and some I have just gotten because they were really cheap. I got the hole Mandalorian series one as they were $5 each and I got TPM box set only a few days ago because I like the figures. Regardless what people think there are some really great figures through out the line. Once again Keith great video and as always look forward to your next one.
Hey Scott, hope you’re doing well mate? Yeah I agree best to wait and get a bargain. Weird how the ROTJ sets are going a bit mad in price?! Cheers for watching.
Fascinating video Keith, great overview of the Retro. I don’t have many, but have picked up a few cheap ones to fill gaps. The grandkids don’t mind them as well. Mad the number of possibilities for Vader combinations. Grievous looks fantastic, but can’t justify buying those box sets, wish they wouldn’t do those. They need to re-release that Yak Face and Mon Mothma for sure.
Grand Moff Tarkin was first produced in the 2nd round(officially 3rd round) "Power of the Force" line in the 2ks along with Slave Leia. This is actually a new mold of GM Tarkin for the retro series and that is a first.
Another great figure focus mate, the only variant I know of is the Yoda small and large bubble, which you said about,I think the small bubble is rarer than the large. Shame Hasbro did not do any vehicles for this line,I think they could of done a vehicle from each of the films. I am needing Darth Vader prototype but can't pull the trigger at the mo.
Yeah I thought that was the only one. Someone just said ther are two different Mon Mothma head sculpts so need to check that. The Vaders are mega expensive, good luck with the 3600 ! 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching mate
The only TRUE retro collection figures in my opinion are the re-release of the vintage line from the late 1970's and 1980's - all the rest are just basic figures with the retro collection sticker slapped on to try and sell more units.
Hasbro just did a reveal of the new retro figures coming out. The set will include rebel fleet trooper, Han Solo in storm trooper outfit, Luke Skywalker Yavin, walrus man, sand trooper, and Dr. Evazan
Great video Keith. I'm ok with the Retro Collection, my only gripe is availability. Why was the latest ROTJ 6pk not produced in greater numbers? This is a line that I do keep carded, even though I have no where to display them yet!
The first wave of ESB are really hard to find there the only one that never been rerelease and where impossible to find during covid at retail price i have to got them on ebay and find a good deal 2 years ago !!!
That’s interesting, here in the UK they were easy to find. I just suppose it depends where you are. Really appreciate the comment and thanks for watching 👍
I got the 4LOM & Zuckuss 2 pack at Ross for $6.99!! The individual figures were $3.99 until a month or so ago, then they jacked them all up to $6.99. Ollie's also has them for $3.99. That's where I got Vader and Kenobi. I really want the Jobs & Bossk 2 pk but it's almost $40 on Amazon! No way am I paying that.
Cool didn’t they had made so many since our stores in my area (3 wal mart 1 toys r us) only got some like maybe 5-6 boxes got lucky to find 3 figs was hoping to see yak face but we never got it
I tend to buy only the ones that have different cardbacks than TVC or were not release in TVC at all! No prototypes though! I collect the 6 figure boxes! They are cool!
@@keithguppy12345 I think they also have the Acolyte wave? but you might want to pass on those :D - even though I did quite like the TVC figures we got recently. The Master Sol is a lovely figure loose.
Great vid Keith 👌😉
Cheers man, Really appreciate that 👍👍
Cannot wait for this one!
@@obirobkenobi3599 brill! Yeah getting to be a 100 fig plus line now

I just got bought The Phantom Menace box set. It was on discount less than half price. Couldn't resist it at that price. Look forward to this episode.
@@scottborham2838 cool, yeah over 100 figs in the line now!
Where at?? I need that sale price, I got wave 1 for $29.99 on entertainment earth black Friday sale.. sold out now

I only picked up a case of the first wave of these. Stuck to VC and black series instead. Interesting prices
I don’t blame you mate. Yeah some are creeping up some have crashed and some are nuts! Thanks for watching mate, hope you’re doing ok?

Nice vid again Keith! There is actually a variant for mon mothma; a noticably different head. Not good for us completists!
Wow really? That’s great knowledge, really didn’t know that. Thanks so much 👍👍
Pretty Cool lol.
Cheers Matt 👍👍👍

The Boba Fett wave (and Ahsoka) are all in GAME now at very cheap prices if you wanted to get them at a steal - doubt you'll find them in mint though

love that question!! Tbh it’s in a sealed room so actually doesn’t get that dusty. In any case it’s definitely me, not the wife! Thanks for watching.
I never really remembered the Yack Face figure as a kid.
lol, not many of us do tbh, it was so rare. Thanks for watching
💪😎

i just bought a bosk figure from a toy fair it has no stamps on its feet , fake ??
Hi Paul. If it’s got stamps on the feet it’s would probably be be a retro so your probably ok.
