Considering how she just accused a Jew of supporting Nazi policy, it was probably to her benefit. If she were lucky, it would have happened even earlier.
A respectful mature individual would agree to disagree and answer her question with facts to back up his passion. His defensive attack on her only solidifies her "nazi" belief. How does a man who speaks to people with such contempt get elected?
Wow, you can read. How about the fact that in the same letter under the Outlays category in table 2, under the Medicare and other medicaid and CHIP provisions, the total spending increase is $741 Billion? Medicare cuts in the ACA are over $700 Billion, not million.
She was respectful & concise....while Barney "child toucher" Frank insults her & completely avoids the question. He's such a complete piece of sh*t. Great Question Lady... I hope you're still out there fighting against "The Man"
I don't know if you didn't listen to the woman's question or just her description of what she believes before the question. She asked him why does he defend the nazi policy (obviously not a nazi policy). He answered what planet do you spend most of your time on? That is not an answer, that is an insulting remark that was purely to get a rouse out of the democrats in the room so he can dodge the question and turn everyone onto her. All I'm saying is why not just answer questions?
Because he's a Marxist Democrat & at that time...Democrat VOTERS weren't 100% on board with destroying the country. NOW they are... So, he would answer her today with "F*ck America. F*ck the Constitution & F*ck the people.. We're in charge now... Get ready to pay triple for everything & have armed IRS agents taking your money."
You are right, we can't have corporate anarchy but we also can't have excessive regulation. Both end up hurting the economy. We need basic regulations, not the excess. And we need congress to pass regulations, not individual agencies made up of unelected officials.
The questioner supports a health care system in which who lives and dies is largely determined by income. And she calls *universal* health care fascist?!? WTF? All due respect to Barney Frank's analogy, but she's *worse* than a dining room table.
'Assuming that H.R. 6079 is enacted near the beginning of fiscal year 2013, CBO and JCT estimate that, on balance, the direct spending and revenue effects of enacting that legislation would cause a net increase in federal budget deficits of $109 billion over the 2013-2022 period. Specifically, we estimate that H.R. 6079 would reduce direct spending by $890 billion and reduce revenues by $1 trillion between 2013 and 2022, thus adding $109 billion to federal budget deficits over that period.'
Ok all I asked was why did he dodge the question, you didn't address anything that I asked. I don't understand why you even commented on what I said if all it you tried to do was start a political debate. I merely asked why didn't he answer the question of why he's in support of this bill. I don't want to talk politics, I have my views I don't push them on others like you. I only asked why doesn't he answer the question...
''The ACA also includes a number of other provisions related to health care that are estimated to reduce net federal outlays (primarily for Medicare). By repealing those provisions, H.R. 6079 would increase other direct spending in the next decade by an estimated $711 billion.'
From what I have heard from teaparty people is that the goverment spends too much money.16 trillion dollars in debt and we currently spend over a trillion in deficit spending every year. Its just this simple, the goverment spends too much money. Why is stateting a simple fact such a bad thing in your mind?
Good for him.... she clearly has no idea what she's talking about and is just repeating what someone else told her -- I'm betting she didn't even back-check any of the idiocy she was spewing before letting herself get riled up and off and running. That kind of stupidity is why we're in such rough shape.
Good for him.... he shouldn't answer ANY constituents questions & should just insult them instead....And use his Race as a shield.. Good for him. YAY for leftwing Cowardice
The top 10% of individuals in America have about $300 billion. So if you tax them or just take all their money your not even gonna come close paying the defecit (1.3 trillion) not to mention the debt(16 trillion). If you take all the money of the corporations you would probably make a big dent in the debt.I just heard that apple is worth more than any other company at 650 billion.I agree that everyone doing business in the U.S should pay taxes but the spending is out of control.
'Apparently someone in an Army "educational session" had made a remark that Hitler deemed "pro-Jewish" and Hitler reacted with characteristic ferocity. Toland states that Hitler had attracted the attention of a right-wing university professor who was engaged to educate enlisted men in "proper" political belief, and that the professor's recommendation to an officer resulted in Hitler's advancement.' William L. Shirer, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, Simon & Schuster, 1959, pp. 28-30
I was referring to your 'policy' of debasing my intellect. It's not a tax, it's a penalty. Right now insurance companies and medical bills for the uninsured (treatments in emergency rooms) are taking far more out of people's pockets and the working poor or near poor, such as people I care about, are struggling to pay for insurance or for procedures that were not covered. We are a rich society to treat working people so poorly.
Universal health insurance DOES provide universal health care. That's the point. I do believe that the insurer should be the government rather than private corporations - on that we agree. But the Republican Party and many Democrats are corporatists.
Actually he did not answer her. He commented back saying what planet are you from. Does that answer her question as to why he is still defending this "nazi" policy? I dont think so, in fact he was being disrespectful to her and avoiding her question like libs do. I shouldn't have called him a name fine, but his reaction to her isn't any better. All he had to do was answer a question, instead he would rather ask, "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" No answer, just an insulting remark
It was considered a "penalty" first to avoid the anti-injunction act and THEN called a "tax" to avoid using the commerce clause as justification. And when I say first/then I'm talking about what was done in the SAME S.C. ruling. Yes, they did a switcharoo which leads me to believe that they were trying to make a political statement which is the following: We are not 100% conservative. They really should have ruled under commerce clause, I think the precedent set by congr tax power is bad.
Think of the goverment as a corporation. The federal goverment spends about 3.8 trillion a year.Militarty takes about 700 billion. Not exactly sure but i'm thinking they spend about 2 trillion on medicare ,ss,medicaid, all the social programs basically. The rest must be what it takes to operate the federal goverment. If we go to a single payer healthcare system that will probbably add 1 to 5 trillion, just guessing. There is probably bout 1 trillion in waste, fruad and redundency.
He did, he said it was a tribute to the first amendment that she could speak freely such 'vile, contemptible nonsense.' Judging from your and many other comments, I would add that sadly it is also a failure of our education system that name calling, attacks on physical appearance, etc. constitute the interaction of democratic citizens on important issues such as healthcare.
We disagree on policy but we agree on the fact that people need help. I believe that the health law would be better if it didn't include the Mandate and the Medicaid expansion, even though the court ruled that states can't be forced to expand it. I think that there are great parts in the Health Law but i believe that more government control is not the answer.
I don't agree with the court's ruling in this regard. I consider it a penalty. However, I am glad they upheld the healthcare. I think there are a lot of great things in the bill and everyone I know who works their asses of deserve a little socialized safety net healthcare. Anyway, I think it is good that we can begin to discuss such things respectfully. In the end I am sure we agree that we care about people, although we may disagree on policy.
@husayn1972 Im not a racist or anti-semitic person but this woman(and everyone else in this country for that matter) has a RIGHT to say anything she wants to say. This Barney Frank guys dident address her question at all. By attacking her character he avoided the question entirely and hinted at her anti-semitism(which by the way, she dident express AT ALL!). Im not anti-semitic but i will say that ANY comment directed at a Jewish person that they want to avoid they are QUICK to cry "ANTI-SEMITE"
'For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned' -Jesus
I think it is good to have this tension between federal at state government. Governors can be just as controlling. The answer for me, because we vote leaders into office, is that I prefer the representatives we elect controlling and regulating industry rather than corporate anarchy.
I think we both agree on moderation. However, in terms of the environment and the health of people, I lean stronger toward regulation. Best wishes to you and thanks for the civilized debate!
Thanks for the new GOP glop. The president has extended the life of Medicare for eight more years and has expanded prescription drug coverage. You have never lived under a dictatorial regime, such comparisons raise warnings about the integrity of your knowledge or your intentions.
Great response? They turned off her microphone and wouldn't let us hear her responses. All we got to hear was Mr. Blowhard ignoring her point and calling her names. Typical liberal response to a tough question.
This woman is an concern citizen , when did the insults occur towards people who is concern for the direction this country is headed . Her point sounded much more reasonable , Frank just came back with insults .that shows his stupidity ! and a sausage lovin' chocolate star fish eater too !
A distinction should be made from literal concern and conspiratorial concern. You can never has a sensible argument with someone who has a conspiratorial concern.
tete mitchell Her argument made no fucking sense, I'm starting to believe that being Republican is synonymous with being unreasonable, misinformed and uneducated.
Interesting how they silenced her by turning off her microphone.
That's how they roll. Liberals are bullies.
Considering how she just accused a Jew of supporting Nazi policy, it was probably to her benefit. If she were lucky, it would have happened even earlier.

Nothing will cut down my 1st Amendment rights.
Barney Frank is related to Shemp Howard of the 3 Stooges.
only him though

Idiot.
@scott I'll be glad to show you that kind of respect any time chump. See you at the barricades, hope your coward semantics help there.

yes, the number is million and it is a savings, not a cut. please see the CBO report on this.
Why is that a problem? I had a philosphical argument with my computer desk.
From what I have heard from teaparty people is that the goverment spends too much money.16 trillion dollars in debt and we currently spend over a trillion in deficit spending every year. Its just this simple, the goverment spends too much money. Why is stateting a simple fact such a bad thing in your mind?

Rick,
They give you 500 characters to type a response. Would you mind using it to make a more clear and precise point?
Actually, state what you mean.
Love this exchange!

It is a tax. Check the Supreme Court Ruling. Same way the Supreme Court upheld Social Security.
Regardless of whether it is an analogy or she actually believes it, it is nonsensical like having an argument with a dining room table.
Some people agree with DiLorenzo & many don't.
He also favors secession.
He should exercise his right and leave the country.
too bad your foul, hate can't be muted.

regulations is contradictory to your claim of about civil liberties.
At the end of the day, you will buy only what they are willing to sell you. That is the stamp of the Corporate State and the Heritage Foundation.

Barney Frank don't play that!
Unless it's in a bathhouse
How is that not universal?

How did this guy ever get elected?
by landslides
She's EXACTLY correct
I see you fell off the starboard side of the ship and intellectually drowned years ago.
I find it laughable you would say this considering Obamacare.
Hey, we need environmental regulation, not in excess but the stuff that works. Thank you for the debate as well as the agreement.
We disagree on policy but we agree on the fact that people need help. Here is an idea. Provide some kind of proof of your claims.I will even check it out.
Right on Barney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the new GOP glop. The president has extended the life of Medicare for eight more years and has expanded prescription drug coverage. You have never lived under a dictatorial regime, such comparisons raise warnings about the integrity of your knowledge or your intentions.
Yes the States created the Federal Government & Federal law supersedes state law.

Anytime the business class starts to run Gov, trouble is close behind.
Barney Frank sucks.
Little children, let's not love with words or speech but with action and truth. John 3:18
