I'm only halfway through this video and I love the info and setup. Like she has a baby in the video, her husband...these are examples of what people really experience. She speaks about real life, working full-time adjusting her schedule due to pregnancy!! Thank you for sharing. Really inspiring!
Graduating with my bachelor's in may 2020...I'm starting my MSW this year in July 2020. My question is how did you balance working full-time and completing the practicum/ internship? How was it finding placement?
Sociologist Taylor313 - hey! First, Thank you for watching and congratulations on starting your journey. I always say how grateful I am for a support system because that and having an understanding supervisor (both field and career -wise ) is what helped me tremendously. Be sure to communicate with your supervisors well! Build those relationships with them. Finding a field placement wasn’t difficult for me because I always try to network. ❤️
Hi, I was wondering did you have a hard time getting a job? do to you going to Walden university. I am thinking about going there but not sure. I know each state is different when it comes to requirements.
Timica Collins - Hey. I did not have a hard time getting a job. Walden is accredited and most employers show know that, but if not, you can always show them proof. Thank you for watching! ❣️
Crissy C - hi. The college is accredited. I’ve had zero problems with employers. I also received my license with the help of Walden’s teaching. As far as transferring credits, I’m not sure since I’ve never looked into that. I can link you to a resource though. Thank you for watching and good luck on your journey 🥳
Hi! I am so glad I found this video. I have a masters in Mental Health but I want to work in Social Work. I live in Chicago and I would like to know tuition cost. Im sure Im maxed on aid. Can you tell me the time it takes to get the MSW and the cost? Question is this a Clinical Masters?
I just saw your video. I just applied to Walden. I am currently a social Worker for the Division of Family and Children Services. Do you think it should make my journey less challenging?
Javen Jones - hey! Thank you for watching ! That was my job while at Walden as well. I would say it did make the journey a *little* less challenging because you’re experiencing some of the things you’re discussing and learning in class while at work. You may be a little more knowledgeable than your peers because of your experience in the field. Good luck on your journey! 💞
Hey! so im applying for the advanced standing program. Are all the classes 11 weeks long? and do you know if you can take one class at a time and still get loans to pay for them?
Susana Gonzalez -👋🏾. The classes are 11weeks long. I took more than one class after my first quarter and never paid out of pocket. I only used loans. 💕
Hello!! I am a young wife and mother looking to attend Walden this fall. I have a few questions. Is is a good school, I’m also a BSW student. Is it worth it? Can you get a decent job with the degree. How does the advanced program work
QuiShay Howard Hey and yes. I truly loved the school. Only con to me was that it’s expensive , but it definitely prepares you for licensure and getting a job was no problem for me. I’m in MS and most decent paying social work jobs require that you have a license.
@@cupofchi_ I’m so glad I found your video. I’m in MS also and just applied for the BSW program at Walden. I currently work as a Healthcare Benefits Coordinator/Financial Counselor but we work directly with Social Workers. Your video made me a little more excited!

So did you find a good job with your msw from Walden?
Yes. I’m a mental health therapist ♥️
I had to get licensed first
@@cupofchi_ was it hard to find a job? I read that Walden isn’t that reputable so it’s hard to get a job. What do you think?
@@hamdi3374 - not at all. I’m guessing everyone’s experience is different
